See, We didn't forget all about you!

Well, I woke up feeling pretty good, so we made it to the Magic Kingdom in time for the opening ceremony, Scoop, the reporter was in charge of this morning's ceremony,

Notice the beautiful weather,

View from the Main Street Trolley, believe it or not this was a first for me,

More celebration decorations,

We decided our first stop would be Thunder Mountain, here are the boys happily making their way to Thunder,

IMG_0111-2.jpg

And here's a not so happy Stitch after the ride, (which was a walk on), this little boy who rode TM in 2006 and got off dancing and singing more rides, said it freaked him out and he almost had a heart attack and he certainly wasn't going to ride Splash Mountain!

IMG_0112.jpg

So we went around the corner to Pirates, he informed me that we were headed the wrong way and he was NOT riding Pirates either, he was scared of the BIG drop. So we moved on to the Jungle Cruise, where he asked me if the animals were real, I let the cat out of the bag and filled him in on the fact that everything at Disney was made just for fun and that no one was going to really get hurt, so at least we got to ride this one,

IMG_0117-1.jpg

IMG_0119.jpg

After leaving the Jungle Cruise Stitch spotted Alladin's Magic Carpets and thought that would be a cool ride, at least he wasn't going to die on that one,

IMG_0137-1.jpg

And of course like all the kids he couldn't resist getting wet,

IMG_0139.jpg

He thought about it and decided to be breave and ride Pirates, he got on but clung to me for dear life,

IMG_0140-1.jpg

Can you believe that after all these years they still want the Redhead?

IMG_0146-1.jpg

We actually survived Pirates and exited just in time to see Mack putting down the rope for Pirate tutorial,

IMG_0157-2.jpg

Stitch really got a kick out of the show but hid behind me while they were choosing participants,

IMG_0158-1.jpg

But when he asked for volunteers at the end Stitch joined right in and was excited about his Pirate certificate,

:yay: I am so glad Stitch dropped some of his fear, Debbie. Great TR, as usual! (BTW, Kristin knows one of the CMs who play Jack Sparrow. I will have to ask her if your picture is of Tony!)

Sorry about the delay, between not feeling well and updating facebook for Stitch's mom I fell behind on my trip report.

Since Stitch decided he didn't want anything to do with the big rides we headed over to Buzz, stopping in at the MI Laugh floor on the way,

The MI show was a big hit with Stitch, here he is trying his best to beat Grumpy's score in Buzz,

IMG_0176-1.jpg

We exited Buzz in time to catch a glimpse of the new Stitch show, I'll review that one later.

IMG_0182.jpg

We headed to Stitch, my Stitch wanted to see it, but was terrified when everything went dark. I just don't understand what happened, we took him in 2006 and he loved all these things he was scared of this trip. :confused3

IMG_0190.jpg

We had lunch reservations at Whispering Canyon, so we took the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge.

Here's the Grand Floridian from the boat,

IMG_0193-1.jpg

Here's Stitch cheating during the pony ride, they told all the kids to walk not run, but of course none of them heard that, notice he's carrying his pony and not riding it,

IMG_0197.jpg

I didn't take any food pictures, we had the skillet and Stitch got the kid's cheeseburger, I would have been ashamed to charge $7.99 for the pitiful little cheeseburger they served to Stitch, think Krystal burger only round. As far as the skillet went, it was ok at best, I think it's time to give WC a break for a while.

We measured Stitch against the totem pole, he's almost the same size as the bear.

IMG_0200.jpg

I was feeling pretty bad after lunch, so we headed back to the resort, I took a nap while Stitch and Grumpy went to the pool. You'll see a pattern start to evolve here, we would make it to the parks for rope drop, stay until lunch time and then head back to the resort.

I did something we hadn't done in years on this trip, we made plans to visit another park :scared1:

Stitch loves animals so I thought he would really enjoy Sea World, after doing some research I signed us up for the VIP tour, it's a bit pricy but when you factor in the costs of the individual components it's not that bad.

We arrived at the park before opening, paid extra for preferred parking, and waited with the crowds for the turnstiles to open.

IMG_0206.jpg

The park itself is really beautiful, we had some time before we had to sign in for the tour so we did some exploring on our own, Stitch tried to pet this bird but didn't get any closer than this,

IMG_0209.jpg

We found this neat photo op,

IMG_0218.jpg

And took pictures with Shamu,

IMG_0227.jpg

Our guide for the tour was Stephen, we had six kids on the tour and all of them just loved him, he was great with them and I would definitely recommend him. Our first stop was Manta, Stitch and I didn't go on this one but Grumpy did, he said it was pretty rough and made him kind of queasy when it went backwards,

IMG_0225-1.jpg

The first show we saw was Blue Horizons, it was great having reserved seating and not having to fight the crowds. Stephen went and got drinks for everyone on the tour, which were very welcome as by now it was HOT. I enjoyed the show, but would have like it better with more of the animals and less human performances,

IMG_0255.jpg

After Blue Horizons, we went on Journey to Atlantis, this ride has a lot of similarlities to Splash, with a bigger drop, personally I still prefer Splash. Stitch didn't want to get on this one but the other kids in the group convinced him to give it a try, he held on to me for dear life, but he survived.

Next up on the tour was "Dining with Shamu", this is set up behind Shamu stadium, a buffet meal is served and some of the trainers demonstrate behaviors that are taught to the whales.

IMG_0268-1.jpg

It's very up close and personal, that is Stitch's elbow in the picture,

IMG_0274.jpg

IMG_0276.jpg

When the demonstration is over the whales wave good-bye,

IMG_0284.jpg

Our next stop would be the Sea Lion show, Grumpy wanted me to take a picture of this along the way,

IMG_0291.jpg

This guy did the preshow, and he was hilarious,

IMG_0293.jpg

This was Stitch's favorite show, I think sitting with Stephen and talking to him aobut it made it that much more fun for him,

IMG_0294-1.jpg

IMG_0296-1.jpg

Unfortunately for me it was getting very hot, and my breathing was getting worse, Grumpy mentioned that we should go ahead and leave, but I had too much invested in the tour and we hadn't done the things that I wanted most to do. So I stuck it out and we headed back to Shamu stadium for Believe.

Once again it was great having a reserved seat for the show, Stitch was upset that we weren't sitting in the soak zone but I wasn't,

IMG_0300.jpg

IMG_0306.jpg

I absolutely love the show, it's amazing the things they do with the whales,

IMG_0310.jpg

IMG_0316-1.jpg

I was still having a hard time with my breathing, but if you'll notice in these pictures, the skies were getting darker and it cooled off a lot,

IMG_0328-2.jpg

IMG_0323.jpg

As we were exiting the show the heavens opened up and it started to pour, so while we waited under shelter Stephen went and got ponchos for the group, the bad news was there would be no feeding of the sting rays or dolphins while there was lightning in the area.

We donned our ponchos and head over to the Arctic exhibit, to have a look at the Polar bears, hoping that the weather would pass over while we were in there. Luckily the weather had cleared up enough so that we could feed the sting rays,

IMG_0332.jpg

The sting rays feel slimy, but Stitch didn't mind at all,

IMG_0333-2.jpg

Stitch having a discussion about the Sting Rays with his new found friend,

IMG_0335.jpg

Because of the weather delay we had missed our scheduled time for the dolphin feeding, Stephen called and arranged for us to attend the next one, which happened to be the last one of the day, Thank you Stephen, I would have been so disappointed to have missed this,

IMG_0344.jpg

This was amazing, Stitch was a little leary and held his fish higher than he should,

IMG_0345-1.jpg

All in all it was a good day, and would have been a great one if I had been up to par.

Stitch loves Mexican food, but the menu at San Angel doesn't have anything that he would eat so we keyed in Mexican in the GPS and it took us to a Mexican grill that was right outside of Disney and we enjoyed a reasonably priced good meal with great service on the way back to the resort. Have I mentioned how much I love my GPS?

We called it a night when we got back, tomorrow it's time for Apricot.

I am sorry you didn't feel well during your trip, but it sounds like you all still had fun!!

Can't wait to see you guys in August!

Thanks, we actually did have a good time, just an abbreviated one, with Stitch it really did work out better, he wasn't worn out and still had fun, he would never complain about spending more time in the pool especially one with a slide. I'm counting on August to be my do-over, I haven't made our reservations yet, I'm hoping to get a deal.

We awoke Wednesday morning to a beautiful sunny day, we made our way to Epcot, better known to us as Apricot, and awaited the opening of the turnstiles, our first stop is always our Leave a Legacy tile, here's Stitch pointing it out,

IMG_0348.jpg

Next I had the Grumpy's pose with the Grumpy topiary,

IMG_0349-2.jpg

Everything was set up for the Flower and Garden festival,

IMG_0350-1.jpg

IMG_0351-2.jpg

Stitch even cooperated and posed in front of the fountain for me,

IMG_0355-1.jpg

We sent Grumpy ahead for our Soarin' fastpasses and Stitch and I took our time, Stitch didn't even notice that Grumpy was behind him when I took this,

IMG_0358.jpg

With our fastpasses in hand we headed back to Test Track, now Stitch has ridden this many times, but while we were in line he told me he was "freaking out" and didn't want to ride. :confused3 I told him fine, we'll just ask to use the "chicken" exit when we get there, he thought about it and decided he would give it a try. He rode but was nervous about it, can someone please explain why he got scared of everything in less than two years?
