My family is heading to Seattle to leave for our Alaskan cruise at the end of July- we will be there a few days after we get back from Alaska. We will be doing one day seeing orcas in Anacortes. The other two we want to see Space Needle, Science Center, Pike Market. We need some good restaurants that are kid friendly(we have an 8 yo DD), and won't break the bank. We are staying around the Space Needle area. We will be there 1/2 day before the cruise, then cruise comes back in Sunday- we are flying out Wednesday morning. Any help will be appreciated. :goodvibes

I really like Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria. Not only is the food good but it has a nice view of the city. If I remember correctly, you can see the Space Needle really well.

I'm assuming you have a car, since you'll be going to Anacortes. If so, the Wallingford neighborhood (just north of the Space Needle area) is really cute. They have a Tutto Bella there, plus two local favorites, Molly Moon Ice Cream and Trophy Cupcake. Also right there is Archie McPhee's, which is an awesome, crazy store.

I'll think of some others!

So jealous that you are going up to see the Orcas. We didn't have time for that. When we took an Alaskan cruise last year, we went out of Seattle, and spent a couple of days there before the cruise. Loved it! I don't have any good restaurant recommedations, but we did a food tour of Pike Place Market. It was GREAT! We got in back of one of the candy shops, got in the front row of where they throw the fish, and one of the people on our tour got to catch it even. Lots of good food...we made that our lunch! http://www.savorseattletours.com/ if you want to check it out.
Other people in our group went to Pink Door for dinner and really liked it, but I didn't go, so not sure.
Have fun!

Ivars on the waterfront is a must do. We go every time we visit. The Old Spaghetti Factory is yum too. July is a good time. The weather is usually nice and there shouldnt be too much rain. :)

We were definitely doing Spaghetti Factory!! But I will check out Ivars. :)

If you have time the Ride The Duck tour is really good.
Check out the Go Seattle card.
Maybe a Mariners game.

You can take the bus into the International District and enjoy a great Asian meal. Lots of choices there. Our current favorite is a Vietnamese restaurant called Green Leaf.

Its the best! I love the fish n chips, when we have time and a little extra cash we go inside. nice and the fish is a little better ;) The counter service is fantastic too and open till like 12am! we've been known to eat there that late especially after the torchlight parade.

Check your dates, July is a time of a lot of festivals, including the Bite of Seattle held at Seattle center.

We took a trip to Seattle last summer and had a blast! We went one afternoon to the Ballard Locks, it was on my dad's to-do list, but it turned out to be something we all enjoyed. There is also a fish ladder there. I also highly recommend the restaurant Rays Boathouse. We sat outside, over the water, and had an awesome meal. Have a great trip! The restaurant and Locks are in the same general area, we went to lunch and then over to the Locks and made an afternoon of it.
