Who's picture is more accurate in their placement of the wings on airplanes: SeatGuru or the actual airline? I'm comparing some United flights to SeatGuru and SeatGuru has the wings being 3-5 rows back. I like to be able to see out the windows at something other than wing.

Hi Carla,

Honestly, I'm not sure, but I've emailed Gary Leff, who writes the blog View from the Wing. He should have an answer.

If I had to guess, I would say they both have the accurate diagram, based on the aircraft type assigned. Aircraft come in many varieties, which have different configurations. Even aircraft of the same variant can have different modifications. So, the counter question is whether Seat Guru is providing the actual aircraft map used in that reservation?

I'm interested to hear what Gary has to say, and I will post his response if he answers the email.

Sorry for the unhelp.

Look for the exit rows...they're over the wing, plus a few rows in front and behind them.
