I was wondering if you have to take everything out of your bag. I bought my DH a new wedding ring(his broke)I was going to give it to him at our dinner at V&A. Since I do not dare put it in our luggage I was wondering what the chance was of him finding out when we go through Security.

No you can leave it in the carry on. If they can't tell what it is you may have to take it out of your carry on. Usually rings don't cause any problems.
