Is it worth it to leave the WDW Resort to take our 2 1/2 year old to Sea World or should we wait til he's bigger? I like how everyone can ride together in WDW. I'd think Sea World would be more for shows vs. rides but it seems to have lots of big rides. I just don't want to do 3 things then be bored.

Your child will love it. I took a 1 and 3 year old with 2 sets of grandparents and we had a blast. They loved the shows and there is an area of kiddie rides that you will be able to go with him. Plus there is a touching area where they can touch starfishes and string rays.

Many years ago I went to WDW and Seaworld with my DH, my 2 1/2 yr old & a friend. I was pregnant and sick 24/7. Bad timing. WDW was much more boring for me that week. My DH & friend went on all the rides. My DS was scared of most of them and he and I spent a lot of time alone. Then we went to Seaworld for the day. LOVED it. Except for those 3 big rides we were able to stay together and enjoy the park. There was so much for my little one to experience and see. These days they also have a whole section devoted to little kids with this absolutely huge climbing thing and a couple of little kid rides.

At 2 1/2 the Disney parks were a bust for my son, but he just loved SeaWorld. I think most 2 1/2 year olds enjoy fish and marine mammals. Also Shamu's Happy Harbor is a great play area for blowing off some steam. I would definately give it a try. My niece and nephew loved SeaWorld at this age too --they loved the Disney parks too at that age. unlike DS who didn't enjoy Disney parks till he was older.

I would only go if you want to go, not because of your toddler. Toddlers are happy anywhere.

Seaworld is a great park to visit with a small kid because there's lots of shows to watch and no standing in endless lines.

Also, enjoy the admission price -- free for him!
