SDFP: CHANGES COMING!! Beware the 7th of June?!

Those cards should be perfect. You don't have to link them - they will work as they are. And you might not be able to link them if you try - you may get a message saying that they've already been linked to another profile. But why not try it and see? If you can link them, you should be able to see the SDFP on your MDE (though you can't make changes to them there, as Marcie keeps finding). If you can't link them, because they were previously linked, it won't matter for SDFP purposes - except you'll have to be careful to take a photo of the screen before you walk away from the kiosk, since the phantom cards won't show up on your MDE.

Update: I got the 4 cards from eBay. As you suggested, I attempted to link them (after setting up phantoms with our middle names on MDE) and it worked! So the SDFPs we book each day should show up on the MDE app under the phantom profiles and I shouldn't have to take a pic of the kiosk screen, correct? They all came up as 1-day tickets (3 of them for DAK/EP and the other for the water parks). Does that matter in regards to using them for SDFPs on multiple days? Now that I've linked them to phantoms, I'm wondering if I could've just linked them to our real names. Would that have worked?

I scored some of those cards from ebay myself.

A question about umbrella and GLFP. Once I do the umbrella thing on my phantoms and pick FPs 60d out on the phantoms.. can I make changes (sometime between the 30 day and 60 day mark) to the FP selections on those phantoms (that have tickets assigned to them), even if they are no longer grouped with a profile that has the resort reservation?

You mean you could have linked them to your primary profiles with your real names? What would be the benefit? If you had done that, you wouldn't have been able to get SDFP with the cards because the cards would have becone clones of your bands or other tickets.

You can make changes immediately after booking. It's only for the initial booking that you need to toggle a resort guest.

Like a lot of other people here, struggling to understand... I have a split stay in December and a toddler. So I will receive 2 magic bands by the time my second stay starts (from Canada). These magic bands will essentially be tied to my toddler who really does not have an MDE account. Will I need to create 2 phantom MDE accounts (for the 2 extra magic bands) to be able to book SDFPs? Or is that for viewing purpose only? In essence, if I book the SDFP and take screenshots, will I be ok?

Also, can I book 3 SDFPs on each MB? Then when finished using them, book the 4th? Sorry for the numerous questions, just trying to figure out how useful this would be...

Bands from a resort reservation will arrive already linked to guests on the reservation. Your toddler must have a profile on your MDE. If both reservations were made on the same MDE, the bands will be clones, so you can get just one set of SDFP with a toddler band. Respectfully, you need to reread the first page of the thread.

I have the extra plastic tickets as well good for SDFP only. I haven't tried yet to put them in MDE. If I do put them in MDE, does this mean when I go to the kiosk I can scan my magic band, which will bring up all the parties in my account, then click on those profiles with plastic tickets attached to them and select SDFP -- eliminating the need to scan the cards themselves at the kiosk? I'm guessing this answer is no, I would need to scan the cards. Other than being able to see the SDFP in my MDE, is there any reason to create dummy acct for these these plastic tickets?

I linked them to phantoms that are on my primary (only) MDE account. Is that what I was supposed to do or should I have set up a separate MDE?

You're right, you'd have to scan the cards.

No other reason to link the cards than viewing SDFP online.

Just found out about this and trying to understand. My last trip was 2012 so I've never been with magic bands. If I book a trip and link the MB's they send, I get to make one set of FP's for my family members for each day. If I purchase or borrow a second set of MB's, I can set up phantom accounts and book SDFP? Do I have to have ticket media attached to the phantom MB? If I wear my trip MB to the park and carry the phantom MB in my bag to use later, does that work? Any clarification appreciated!

Had to cancel our xmas trip and CM was nice enough to refund us our MVMCP tix too. I do have them in hand but they are still listed as active in my MDE. if I deactivate them can I use them for SDFP for whenever we go again (prolly not til next summer)? Or will they expire after their party date in December and be good after that?

With all due respect and also modesty, the first page clarifies beautifully. Like butter! Read it several times, potentially skipping the sections in blue and in red.

No need to deactivate. Use the cards for SDFP today, tomorrow, and any other day until the loophole closes.

I read through it once but it's A LOT of information to process. I also read some of the recent posts to get an idea of how it has currently been working for folks.

You are so right. It is a lot to take in. If you're not familiar with MagicBands generally, be sure to check out the comprehensive DIS threads about their use.

I've been playing with this a bit and just want to be sure I'm not missing something. I booked with an umbrella from a friend visiting staying on-site but she's not always doing the same thing we are. Right at 60 days (plus), I booked FEA with her and then deleted her from the FPP so she could book something else. I can see easily how I can change mine now to Soarin' or TT. But there is no way I can change them to try to find 7DMT, right? (Assuming she has made her own reservations at a different park that day so I can no longer link her as the "umbrella" person) I need to wait until 30 days? Thanks!

Try rebooking, include her in the group. You'll immediately be promoted to remove your friend from the group, which you can do. (Which will leave her current FP unchanged.) The system should still allow you to book at 60 days for the non resort guests. Let us know.

See, that's why I ask - no matter how much I ever think I know about this system, someone always knows more! It did work so now I booked 2 FPP's for 7D. And that will be very helpful for the future. (Incidentally, I just cancelled 2 FPP's for FEA for 9/17 if anyone needs them). :) Thanks!

Just wanted to send a thank you to Scrap Yap and others who provide so much helpful information on this thread. We're heading home today fro our Disney trip and it was wonderful. We were able to cram so much into three park days thanks to the information on THS thread. Thanks!

Just to replay that hit song, "Reread the First Page of the Thread" yet another time ... the answer to your question was already under the GLFP umbrella section. Of the First Page of the Thread. :)
