SDFP: CHANGES COMING!! Beware the 7th of June?!

My trip in October will be my first time with MDE & FP+ completely rolled out. When I visited last in May 2012, they were beta testing FP+ at MK which I still have the RFID card from. Think it's worth a try to see if it'll work? Also, what's a good search term to use on eBay to find old cards? I wouldn't mind buying an extra band, but I doubt my friends who aren't hardcore Disney fans would be willing to splurge. If I can find a set of cards for a good price, I'll bite the bullet for my group.

I searched for "Disney World park tickets used expired". I just checked to see if the seller I got mine from still had any (he had 1 set of 4 cards left yesterday), but that seller is out. I don't see any others listed currently. I paid $15.99 plus $2.99 shipping for 4 cards.

I bought a set of 4 from the same seller kaybee1476 did. I searched "Disney ticket used" and also "Disney ticket no value". They typically don't last long. I missed out on a few by waiting and not pulling the trigger to "buy it now". Good luck.

I haven't bought any but have looked multiple times for others interested. Some other possible search words are "Disney Ticket Card" and "Disney Ticket Scrapbook". Right now no matter what I search for the only options I see are the set of 4 for $15.99 with shipping or the set of 34 for $80. Although it looks like the first one just sold since I looked earlier this morning.

Thanks for the help everyone! I set up search alerts for 3 different terms. I'm sure I'll be able to find some before my trip.

Forgive me for asking this. I've read all of the threads, and the latest information seems to state that SDFPs can only be booked in the park you're in. We last planned a Disney trip in August 2015, and I could've SWORN that since then I read that SDFP could be booked from a different park. But I also have 3 kids and a FT job and my memory is pretty much shot.

I have extra bands through a 2nd MDE that I was hoping to use for our evening park. Example, MK in the morning with our FPs and book our evening Epcot SDFPs from MK in the am. I'm making this up, right? I wonder what else I've dreamt up.

I've been testing it for at least the last year and a half or so that I was aware of it and have never been able to do that. Before the changes in April, no one in any way could ever book for another park from a different one (unless they were your original 3 for the day). And I've tested regularly since then and you can't. The system knows you don't have valid ticket media if you even try to change them for the same park via MDE now so at a kiosk is the only way you can book any SDFP (or change them). And the kiosks are only linked to the park they're in - I've asked that a couple times just to be sure.

Good morning SDFP people. Quick question before I pull the trigger. I'm about to order 5 "blank" MB's from Disneystore.com

Nothing has changed in terms of the information at the inception of this thread, correct? Before I pull the trigger on over $60 in MagicBands I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

Also, can someone please confirm if you are able to use the kiosks upon park entry for a PPO breakfast? Thank you as always!

As of yesterday, nothing had changed.

Kiosks are often available PPO for breakfasters entering the park -- more often available than not. But sometimes not available.

Awesome, thanks so much for confirmation on both points. Also, would you know if any of the maps available to us show locations of each of the SDFP kiosk locations?

Hiro's right - you definitely want to link them to phantoms after you trade them in for RFID cards. You may be surprised at the FP your MDE allows you to book on those cards.

They were probably originally park hoppers? Even though the park admission is used up, the MDE will probably allow you to book as many FP days as you originally had tickets for. So if they were six day hoppers, you can prebook six days of FP.

This does NOT mean you can enter the parks with those cards. They won't work for admission. But they will work at the FP entrances. So you may not need to bother with SDFP at all. You probably have a set of FP generators right there. Let us know what you're able to book and how it all works out. Sounds as though it will work very well!

Just be very careful that you link the old cards to phantoms, NOT to your real profiles. Because you won't be able to reassign partially used cards once they're linked.

Just an update. I took my old nonexpiring park hopper plusses with water parks and exchanged them for tickets with RFD. The only thing left on them were water parks. They worked fine for SDFP. The only two that worked as FP generators were the ones they had to change from a child's ticket to an adult ticket. Not sure why they are different, but they are. I had had 8 cards for the four of us. I really didn't need to use that many, but I would label four of them A and 4 of them B for Epcot so I could get a set for Soarin and Test Track. I did find I needed to get those at Rope drop. It can be complicated to keep up with so I would put a memo on my phone and labeled what passes we had with bands and which ones were with cards. We only goofed once and used a band instead of a card. The CM just said your next experience.... We stepped aside, I gave out the cards and got in. The cast member didn't say anything about it.

One thing off the subject. It is nice to have matching cards for the bands. If someone in your group decides to go elsewhere you can use their fp on a card without them having to leave the magic band behind.

Is there a benefit to using an extra magic band with tickets added vs. a plastic card to make GLFP?
Could I ask my resort for plastic cards for the tickets as if they are for people in our party staying off property?

Does anyone know?

Does anyone know?
I don't know about at the resort but I know you can at the ticket booths at the parks. I've frequently bought tickets for someone else and picked them up at the park ticket window well in advance of their visit. Any guest services location should be able to do it as well. Only caveat would be if they're some kind of special ticket (FL resident/military) but otherwise you should be fine. The only real benefit to using the MB would be not having to go somewhere to get the card during the trip. The drawback is of course having to pay for the MB's and having to carry them around all day with you (cards are much easier to carry an extra set of).

I didn't want to start a whole new thread, so thought I would ask here.

We have APs (me, DW, DD14, DS12) and my main MDE account is linked to us.

We are going over Labor Day Weekend with a Room-Only Resort trip and have that set up with DW's 'other' account which has all of us listed by Middle Names. (Not linked to my main account) We are planning on doing MNSSHP that Friday (9/2). [DS21 is in the DCP (Disney College Program) and can get us really good deals on Sept Party tickets.]

My Question (Finally) - the plan is to link the 4 new MBs (that we just got yesterday!) to the MNSSHP tickets and then be able to use them as 'phantoms' for future trips - Should we get the numbers off of the tickets & set them up with DW's account ahead of time? Is that the best way to do it? Am I forgetting anything? TIA!!!

I've followed this thread and have a good grasp but just had a question - with a MB from a previous trip, under a different MDE account (yes I booked this year's trip under a new one), will I be able to choose 3 initial SDFP per band? For some reason I thought it would be 1 choice at a time, but I see above the person was able to book a full set per band.

Also, my 2.5 yo won't have a ticket, but will have a magic band again this year. Can we book a full set of SDFP on his band from the current reservation as well?

thanks all, this thread is awesome. You guys rock for being so helpful!

So the new MBs are from your secondary-account resort reservation. So they're already linked. The bands are already phantoms, right now.

The MNSSHP tickets are a separate issue. You have some choices.

1. Don't link the party tickets. They don't have to be linked. Just use them at the kiosks for SDFP. You can also use the 4 bands for SDFP. That means you'll have a total of 8 sets of SDFP any time you visit a park.

2. Set up four new phantoms - probably do it on your primary MDE to keep things simpler in the future. Link the MNSSHP tickets to these 4 phantoms. You'll still have 8 sets of SDFP - but you'll be able to view the choices you made (at the kiosk) from your MDE online for the party phantoms.

3. You could link the tickets/cards for MNSSHP to the resort-room profiles on the secondary MDE. The MNSSHP cards will then become clones of the bands. This can be convenient - as they're easier to carry around than the bands. But then you would only have 4 sets of SDFP (since what's on the cards will also be on the bands and vice versa).

Presumably you booked your resort stay via your son's Hub account to get the cast discount?

Does he have any unused comp tickets on the Hub? If so, you could link them to one of the MNSSHP ticket phantoms and prebook a couple of sets of FP (GLFP).

You can always choose 3 SDFP. You have to tap the bands one at a time to group them into a party to make the choices for everyone at once. (See Marcie's photos on the first page.)

Yes you can book SDFP on any band that isn't a clone of another band with FP/SDFP.

Thank you ScrapYap - I knew you guys would come through for me!

1. For unlinked MNSSHP tickets, what 'names' will come up for the SDFPs on the kiosks? Or will it not really matter?

2. This is prob the route I will go - DW is going to kill me if she realizes that I can make 3 'complete' sets of FPs though!

3. This is prob the route I Should go - just to make things easier - but the thought of having all those 'extra' FPs makes me salivate! lol

Bonus Q - Yes - we called and did the 3-way thing to get his discount on the Hub. He does have some unused Comps - With those being 1-day tickets, I would only be able to make 1 day of GLFPs - correct? Then, what happens to those once they get used? Can you then use those 'used' tickets as SDFPs?
