But does the 36 hr limit still apply?
At the moment, yes. The emails are being sent out fast - but the FP are still hanging in there for 24-36 hours.

Before you merge your two MDEs, make sure the names in MDE#2 do not match up with MDE#1.
You can transfer a FP from one complete party in MDE#2 to those in MDE#1 by selecting and deselecting from those listed in the merged list.
If names and birthdate match up, the MDE system merges them in your MDE listing. You don't want that to happen as everyone gets cloned. Why do the names have to be different? Just because it is confusing, or is there an actual limitation if the names are the same?

You can go into your NE account and attempt to change the names. I'm not sure if partially used NE tickets can have the names Edited. It would be best to attempt this before changes to the FP system go into affect.OK, thanks. I currently have 2 MDE accounts which ARE already linked by friend requests, and have identical names on both accounts. Both accounts have valid tickets linked to each person. One account has my annual passes, and the other has (partially used) 10 day non-expirings. I will use my AP account to enter the park, and my NE will be the donors. Any issue with just changing the names on my NE account now? My hotel reservation is linked to my AP account.
The system doesn't allow a CPFP transfer to a non-ticketed person. Is it possible to change my FPs from my AP MDE account to a linked non-ticket MDE phantom account and then make new FPs on my AP account for the same day? And then on the park use the AP FPs and after that transfer the phantom FPs back to the AP account?

When you have duplicate names in a merged MDE, the syncing of new MBs for the Resort reservation may be incorrect and you could have NE entitlements deducted in error.
Thanks for the answer. The system doesn't allow a CPFP transfer to a non-ticketed person.
The MDE FP system is based on valid tickets for pre-booking. The in-park FP system is based on RFID that isn't linked to any FPs in the FP database.
I would just make up a birthdate. The park entry system relies on the biometric scans for NE tickets. Thanks (again). Last question....On years that I don't buy AP's, I use my NE tickets. MDE will allow me to change the names on partially used tix, but for kids < 18, it is forcing me to enter a birthdate (and year). Any strategy here? Keeping in mind I need to use these NE tickets for real some years linked to a resort reservation...
And thank you for all of your hard work in this thread.
Toddlers don't need tickets and FPs cannot be pre-booked for them.Ok , Disneyland pro here but I'm a newbie to WDW. If my toddler has a magic band but no ticket can I book FPs for him and have another person in our party use them? If yes, then wouldn't it be beneficial to have your phantoms all be toddlers?
Does the converted ticket still have days on it? Converted tix have a delightful glitch. They'll allow you to prebook FP for the total number of days originally on the ticket- not just the remaining days.
It's akin to a severe form of Behavior Modification and I don't think minimum wage Attraction CMs are prepared for the immediate outcome/outbursts from guests. Unfair to the frontline and GR CMs.It seems kind of unfriendly of Disney to allow you book SDFP and let you think you can use them. The people who don't know any better will have a rude awakening when the Mickey head turns blue. It puts the Cast members in an awkward situation. They will either have to play the bad guy or just let people go. Disney should stop people from getting SDFP in the first place.

I don't see the advantage to this over just doing it on your real account as you mention in the second half?Though, as I understand it with the current FP system, you could potentially cycle through 2 tier 1s if they are in DIFFERENT parks? Book just one Tier 1 in Epcot on main, hop to DHS and hope to get a Tier 1 with phantom for SDFP, and then Change party to main? This would be similar to the current system where you can book just a Tier 1 in Epcot in advance, tap, and then try to secure a Tier 1 at DHS (while in line for Tier 1 at Epcot) as your 2nd FP for the main?
