How did you get scammed on ebay? Tickets not arrive? Not valid? Details?
I sold 2 3day tix to a buyer so that I could take that money and buy 2 4day tix instead. The money was credited in my PayPal account so I sent the tix. Four days later, I was contacted by Paypal stating that they suspected the buyer of suspicious activity and placed a hold on it (the money that's already credited in my account). They said that they needed to review the case before they could release MY MONEY back to me. The next day, the funds were removed and they explained that since the account was unverified, they considered it fraudulent and I did not qualify for seller protection. The buyer had over 100 positive feedbacks and no negative ones, I had no reason to believe there would be any problems with this transaction. Despite relentless efforts of proving to PayPal that the items were delivered and signed for (I even submitted the customer's signature I obtained from the US Post Office) they remain firm on their decision. They say I have absolutely no recourse.

Lloyd's of London? I've never heard of that before... can you give me more information please?

They are (or were when I had my issues) the insurance company that Ebay uses when there are fraudulent transactions. I see that you have tried to get your money back through paypal, but have you filed a complaint directly through Ebay? Technically, from what it sounds like to me it is still an Ebay issue as there is a buyer out there that is scamming sellers and they need to know about that. When I had my bad transaction (I was the buyer), ebay was wonderful, I sent them all the information and they researched everything, sent their findings on to Lloyds who in turn sent me a check for the money that I had lost. It may not help get your money back in time for your trip, but if you have the proof that the money was revoked and the item was received I am sure that Ebay will assist anyway that it can

Thank you so very much for that information... I was under the impression that I had to file through PayPal since the transactions were done via PayPal. Also, I assumed that their rules were the same since ebay is the parent company. I will definitely check it out. Thanks again, I truly appreciate your kindness.

I don't know how you even got ebay to acknowledge you. I was scammed once, I had all the signatures, copy of the money order and they wouldn't even respond to me. All I ever got from them was a form email on how to dispute resolution that was useless. I filed fraud reports to the postoffice and I got emails from others who had been scammed by this guy and ebay did nothing.

That's surprising to me. I don't know maybe they had issues with the seller before. I just sent a fraud report to them, they asked me some questions, I scanned and emailed the papers that they requested from me and they sent it to investigation. It was a very pleasant experience for me, I really felt the situation was handled well. :confused3

My DH got scammed by a guy who made a habit of ripping people off by taking their money and never sending the items. My DH got his money back from Paypal, but so far, it seems that eBay isn't going to do anything to ban the fraudulent seller from selling. Moral of the story~ Make very sure that you check out each seller's feedback! :scared:

want to stay on site 2bdrm BCV 10/21-10/28/06 need reservations but dont quite understand the 11 month prior, 7 month rule thing being discussed

If you are renting points for a BCV stay in October you have 2 choices. You can rent from a BCV owner who can make the reservation 11 months in advance. Only BCV owners can make BCV reservations with points from 11 through 8 months out. Once you hit 7 months from day of departure, anyone with DVC points can book the reservation using their points.

We are still in the "owners" portion of the reservation time, so if you go on the rent/trade board, you would be asking for a BCV owner to rent you points. Because October is F&W and BCV is so close to Epcot, you probably should look into renting those points NOW. You may already be too late.

This won't help you now, but in the future don't see the ticket but go to disney and upgrade it and pay the difference. I think you are now out of luck and need to find another way to get the ticket money.

I sign up for this forum with hopes that someone may know of a place where I might find some discounted tickets.
ticketmania.com mapleaftickets.com officialticketcenter.com etc.

Same thing here. eBay has never been helpful to me in the "fraud" department. I am just out of money and they continue to let these people keep trading on eBay.

eBay may not help you anyway, since the auction transaction was in a technical sense illegal (the tickets were non-transferable, and therefore you were legally not permitted to re-sell them).

Unfortunately, there's little discount in obtaining tickets even at legitimate ticket brokers. You will still end up spending a few hundred dollars on replacement tickets.

The OP's question has been answered and this thread very much runs the risk of looking like a 'sales' thread. Also, this isn't the DVC board. Since the question has been answered I am closing the thread.
