Ack! Please, another character meal? Aren't there enough already? :scared1:

To those who don't enjoy them, are you able to ask to be seated away from the characters? I go to Tusker for the food not for Pooh dressed in safari wear.

Also, I'm not seeing any written info yet so am wondering if the menu will change? Tusker House buffet really is a wonderful buffet and I hope the food isn't going to change.

Pooh????? Did you read that somewhere? From what I read on the disney site, its going to remain Donald and friends in safari wear, not pooh.

Anywho, im afraid this is all coming to reality on Dec.4. Lol. Sorry! When you checkin, you can absolutely tell the hostess you would like no part in the character interaction. The characters "escort" will be informed and will do their best to make sure they dont come to your table. If they do. Just wave to them and let them pass. Lol!

LOL LOL Since I don't give a doodle about the character stuff I have no idea who is or who isn't there...I just threw Pooh out there assuming, well not having a clue I guess. LOL

Thanks for the info. Yeah, we'll be asking for a corner table out of the way. Maybe they'll turn that one smallish side room into a character-free zone? :rotfl:

Personally I'm excited to be able to have a character meal that is not eggs! I've always wanted to try Tusker House lunch but still having kids in that age range haven't been able to forgo the character breakfast.

I think that the breakfast was so popular and the lunch had so many openings even last minute... they are looking for a way to fill tables. The nemo package wasn't working as well as they thought since normally nemo still had open seats.

When I called for an ADR yesterday the CM said that the food would remain the same.

I love Tusker House and now I won't be able to have a nice quiet lunch..Dinner is still character free, right?

Wonderful! The food there is some of the best on property.
Still it's sucky about the characters. Aren't there already enough of those meals? Your kids don't eat every meal as a character meal do they? :confused3

I agree with you. I'm happy to see this change. Even if we didn't have kids with us my husband and I would love to try a Tusker House lunch with characters. But that's us and we love meet the characters.

Praying this is the case.

Does anyone have a link to the newest info about Tusker House? I'm only seeing bits and pieces in these posts.

Thanks!

Ahhhhhhh thankyou!

For those of you wondering here it is directly from the Disney website:

Please note that Disney Characters are present only during breakfast and lunch. Character Dining is not available at dinner. Subject to change without notice.

Yesssssssssssss

I'm ok now. You guys that like the characters can have the lunch and me and my characterphobic friends will take the dinner times!

;)

ENJOY your lunches! The food is really really really good. Your kids will be able to try some new and interesting things there!!

No the problem is the mickey and gang meal..... we HATE CM. GG we don't do since I refuse to "waste" an epcot meal there. Too many other choices and Cape May/Ohana is breakfast again.... I don't like breakfast food period! So any Mickey meal w/o eggs is a good one in my opinion!

Plus if you do the dining plan it makes NO sense to waste a credit on breakfast!

Now I'm even more excited since you say the food is soooo good!

Isn't it funny how we each have our own likes and dislikes of characters or food? LOL I totally hear you on breakfast food. Who wants to pay those prices for food you don't even like, eh?

You'll enjoy the characters in their safari outfits!

We enjoyed TH as a nice lunch break from the park and we love the food. I'm sorry to see it become a character meal. That'll no doubt greatly increase the price for us, a family of 4 Disney adults.

Bummer, another excuse to jack up the price. TH was a favorite lunch ressie. I'm sure, it won't be long, until they ruin dinner too.

We loved the food at TH. Does anyone know if they will still offer the Nemo show tickets? I know it's probably not that difficult to get into the show, but, still a nice perk!:thumbsup2

I don't believe so. It was a nice perk but the last few times we used it it really wasn't necessary. The Nemo theater was always half empty at that time of day.

It looks like the price of lunch and dinner are now the same. Used to be lunch cost less which was always one reason we did our lunch there.
As long as they keep at least one meal here character free I'm still game. LOL

No surprise. Lunch here has never been that popular---they even had to use Nemo preferred seating to try to lure people in. Switching to characters will solve that problem.

Oh for CRYING OUT LOUD. We love going to Tusker for lunch because it's the least expensive buffet on property. Way to go, Disney. Jacking up the prices and yet another place we'll skip. Damn it!

Lunch has always been packed whenever we've gone, and we have gone about 5 times in the last year.
