Savi's Workshop - check in question

I just booked Savi's workshop for my daughter's Fiancé as a gift (it will be the fiancé building the light saber & my DD will be the guest). When the confirm came to my email, it said to be prepared to show the credit card used:

"Late arrivals may not be accommodated. Be prepared to present your reservation confirmation, photo ID and the credit card provided at the time of booking your reservation."

I don't plan on being there with them ....has anyone ever been asked to show the credit card that was used? Should I cancel and book with my DD's credit card?

I am not sure if it is the same at WDW, but I did my saber at Disneyland and while the reservation required a credit card to hold, I actually paid at check-in. You go to the register, confirm your theme selection, pay, and get the builder pin to wear. WDW may do it differently, but that's how it was for me.

If it was a charge and not a pre-auth, then you won't have to pay at the location, but I am not sure how strict they are about checking the credit card.

Savi's (and Droid Depot) at WDW are now pre-paid at time of booking (changed Apr 2024). Savi's at DLR is still CC guarantee.

Okay, that explains the difference then.

We just did Savi’s at WDW this past Friday and I was not required to provide the CC I used to prepay when I booked.
