Sassy Somethings - Happy November

I checked out a John Williams CD from the library also. That man wrote alot of really good stuff. I was stunned at all the blockbuster movies he wrote themes for. (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Jurassic Park, etc.)


DH and I talked about it this weekend and I think he is going to take a travel position. He is going to try to go anyplace that makes the most money. I wish he could go someplace like San Antonio so we could still go visit him sometimes, but I doubt that would pay as well. He is going to discuss it with a recruiter tomorrow.

I think the plan is to travel for about 6 months or so to pay off bills and have a savings and then try to find a permanent position around here. We will have to see how it goes.

I'm sorry, Heather! I hope things get better soon. I have several friends who did travel nursing for a few years and liked it. How do you think you will hold up with just you and the kids?

Kate is about to learn to do her own laundry too if this keeps up. I haven't been the best about making her do chores, but that is going to change this summer. I bought a chart and everyone is gong to have set chores. This house is too big for me to do it all. I am burnt out!

I am also putting my name on the chore list becuase I need a better system for myself too. I have got to set a better schedule.

My kids have a lot more chores to do in the summer than during the school year. They do laundry, clean baseboards, dust and vacuum. They take turns helping me with dinner or setting/clearing the table. I will not turn two more helpless, housework-impaired men out into the world!

I think it wil be ok. It will be hard, but we can get through it. Better to have him travel than for us to lose the house.

Fortunately, my Mom is here to help out and I have a friend who will babysit sometimes so I can get a break. I usually don't ask anyone to babysit, but with Scott gone a couple of months I will have to have some time off.

He will probably still get to be in OR, which is the position he really loves and when he gets back he will have a full 2 years OR experience. He said something about some certification he can get after that, that will hopefully make him more marketable.

And if he makes good money while he is gone and we pay off bills, then he will not have to work so much when he gets back, so it is sort of a trade off. In the end we should benefit.

Right now, I am tired of the waiting., I just want him to be gone already so it would be that much closer to ending. KWIM?

Well I am not sure about Tricia....I've always thought there was something a little off about her. Now that I read the NOLA thread I know I was right. How could anyone want to visit there, much less live there

Hi Sassies!

I worked like a DOG today! But my memory books are finally complete, except for the cover on one book! I am so happy! Plus, Bubba went with me to Party City and helped me select decorations for the ALOHA party. Then he went with me to my classroom and helped me decorate. My room looks AWESOME! I have flowers and faux grass fringe atop my windows and doors. And a whole lotta danglies from my ceiling. My students are gonna love it. I can't wait for the party to be over and the memory books doled out. Then I just have the report cards to do! Monday I am starting my new schedule of 6:00am to 10:00am, watching the front desk. I cannot wait! I'm so burned out. But I really do get a great sense of satisfaction at the end of the year, knowing all I got accomplished--especially the last two weeks!

So, ladies, what's up for the day? It's a ghost town around here - I keep having to talk to myself! Now, I am pretty well versed at talking to myself but I would love some company! Otherwise, things on this thread may get pretty weird.

Good Morning!

We have a 10 am movie today! This is the first summer that we have taken advantage of the summer movie program. I usually avoid it because it is crowded, but this year we needed some cheap entertainment for the kiddos. You can't beatfifty cent admission and sneaking in snacks shhhhh...don't tell

It is really hot here...Judi, we have sunshine to spare. We could use a little rain. The grass is drying up big time! I have watered the new grass in back a little, but I am trying to keep my water bill down. I am just trying to keep it from dying completely....anyway. The point to all my rambling is that I will trade you some of this sunshine for some of your rain.
