SAP+ ?

T oT is here to stay - The pitch to the council for DisneylandFoward was very heavy on that being negotiated for the DVC tower and blueprint for future timeshares and collections for the city revenues.

Yes, Pixar traditionally is below DLH so point charts shouldn't be higher at the very most on par.

I would think the Toy Story may have a lower point chart just because the walk and access is going to be longer.

Yup, you can’t compare it to WDW…. and it’s in CA…. so it’s worth paying for 😁

Agreeing you on ToT (could get even worse, right?).

I don’t think you can base a new tower point chart on relative rates at hotel. VDH is vastly inferior to VGC (and DL hotel rates are usually far lower than GCH rates), but their point charts are on par, right? I think Disney might have kept VDH point chart lower if they could, but they needed to make sure that there were enough points to turn a profit and cover annual expenses without completely insane dues. I don’t think they could build a totally new complex at Toy Story for less than the cost of adding a tower and a pool at VDH, so I don’t think the point chart could be much lower…but maybe I’m thinking about it wrong? Are you thinking point chart would be lower dues would be higher or that it would have even fewer amenities?

“VDH is vastly inferior to VGC”

Ready the defenses! The villagers are coming with their pitchforks!

Sigh, perhaps I should have said significantly instead. Vastly might have been a bit too strong.
Perhaps after the refurb. VDH unfortunately sounds like ikea level quality in some spots though it looks fantastic.

The pool for sure is better; but for now -- VGC simply cannot be beat with its location. Theming is debatable forever.

The point charts really are mixed between the two -- VGC continues to have some advantage points ironically but there's a lot more flexible point values at VDH comparatively, especially in the duo and studio charts.

IF ToyStory lot ever gets developed, it'll be a hotel+DVC combo to share costs, and that'll be DVC after Pixar tower goes up....so many moons from now.

DisneylandForward is a 40 YEAR project.

I wanted to like your post and then make a sad face at 40 year post. I can’t believe I might be too old to handle many of the rides by the time DLF is completed. 😔

Re: VGC superiority, I really was mostly talking about location and room sizing (based on my several stays at VGC and one stay at VDH)— I agree people can have different preferences in theming (and VDH rooms are absolutely lit better for the moment), but I really meant that it was far closer to both parks with more luxury overall and no additional ToT, yet still the point chart for VDH wasn’t any friendlier.

I'm super excited. I'll only be 95 when this is finished.
I'm figuring by then life expectancy will be up to 120.
So I should have a good 20 years to enjoy it!

For sure; just to compare -- DCA back entrance has been reopened after 20 years of DCA.

So will VDH or Pixar have something opening to a back entrance before -- 2044? We'll be 72 then.

Yes, another entrance beyond the esplanade will probably eventually happen. Just not anytime soon.

Enough for SAP+ adjustments to West coasters? probably not. Keep up the AUL SUB.

VDH - resales MAY be interesting for local consumption if you love VDH vibes -- wouldn't by interested unless <120pp. loaded.

So… in light of 2025 dues… what are we thinking for SAP?
I’m thinking any of these can work fine if you get them at the right purchase price. ;)

Resort2025 Dues2024 Dues% Increase
Aulani (Subsidized)$7.6090$7.33853.69%
Polynesian$7.9263$8.2301-3.69%
Grand Floridian$7.9298$7.57404.70%
Bay Lake Tower$8.0150$7.59025.60%
Copper Creek Villas$8.4914$8.09384.91%
Saratoga Springs$8.539

I think I would agree with you on that, I’d probably have a small VDH on my radar if it wasn’t for the ToT.
Same. I was all excited to buy VDH (I already own VGC) and saw those ToT prices and ran the other way. After spend all the money to buy DVC points and the point charts being the same, why would I stay VDH? I really liked it when I toured it and maybe some day we’ll do a night or two there just to do it, but man those ToT prices are high!

The only reason I bought was the lack of availability at VGC. So far VDH availability hasn’t been great either.

I bought VDH knowing not all points will be used at VDH, then the TOT doesn’t matter. And when I do need to stay there, I have 11 month advantage, and TOT is just fact of life for Anaheim lodging. This is especially true when VGC refurb is still not happening yet so I don’t want to stay there 😢

I am on the fence about where to add on more points though. VGF? I love lake view so may not need 11-months advantage but the dues are nice. AUL? Need patience for the subsidized contract… VDH? There is that magic key discount…. Maybe more Poly if I love the tower after my Feb stay…

I need/want 1 more contract but decided it has to be Florida. I was all in on BLT. Now I back to being all over the place again. I feel really good about my Aulani Sub contracts. More and more of them pop up recently.

I'm in that stage of thinking as well. Stayed at VGF in Oct and wanted to purchase when I got back. Then I thought BLT would be a better value, especially post-refurb. Now PVB resale is dropping, MFs decreased and it's looking more like the Tower will be worth a look.

So now it's BLT, VGF or PVB. I feel like we need to add one of them to our current resorts.
