DAY 8 ~ POLY, MK, PARADE!

Ring! Ring! 7am and Mickey called to wake us up! We had 8:30am PS at Ohanas at the Poly character breakky. We parked at MK and walked over to the Poly. Nice easy walk. The food was great! Really liked the pineapple coconut bread! Goofy, Chip, Dale and Mickey did their rounds! They paraded the kids around the restaurant at 9am with shakers and dancing FUN FUN FUN! We had a lovely view of the castle from Ohanas! About 9:30am we headed to MK and Tomorrowland. Did Buzz, Space Mtn, Race cars ~ then over to the Tea Cups, Dumbo, Carosel AGAIN and to Toontown for the character greetings. Saw Cinderella, Suzy and Perla Mouse, Ariel, Pooh, Eeyor, Tigger, Chip, Dale and Minnie! LOTS of autographs! We went back to CSR for a short one hour rest and back to MK for the 3pm parade. It was a HOT HOT HOT afternoon! Got to sit upfront in the monorail and got co-pilots licences to add to the collection. We staked a spot upstairs at the Main Street USA Rail Road, got chairs, table and shade! Excellent view and kind folks all around! The parade was nicer than I thought! Glad to see it! The kids thought it was great too! We went over to Splash Mtn AGAIN! DS fell asleep so I got to have quiet time in the AC in Peco Bills while DH and DD did rides. I always wanted a monorail ride from TTC to Epcot and back ~ so off we went! Glad to check that one off the list! It was fun! Since I spent a lot of time with DS and DH was with DD we went back to CSR and SWITCHED! DD and I got to have a great dinner together at Pepper Market, some girl talk and shopping! Collecting lots of Penny Presses too! Great night! Kids went to sleep about 10pm. We crashed shortly afterwards! THREE PARKS TOMORROW! WOW! Sandra

Oh how I wish I was there too! LOL;)

What a nice day especially with the "girl time" you and your DD had!:)

Your girl time sounded very nice.I loved collecting those pennies as much as the kids did.

Yet another fun day. Pennies, Autographs, and lots of rides too! :)

Isnn't it great riding up front on the MR?!
Thanks again SandraC, looking forward to your next report;)

Thanks for the awesome trip reports, Sandra ! Where were there tables and chairs at the Main St RR ? - I only remember benches on the upper platform when I was last there - tables and chairs in the shade would be great for the parade. Were you in a spot where people could not squeeze in front of you and block your view? You plan and tour like I do - make a plan and then allow for flexibility - works for us every time, too!

HI! Yes, I make plans fullying aware that they might be changed.

We arrived at MK about 2:30pm for the 3pm parade. We actually got a monorail car to ourselves!

We walked up the stairs to the Main Street USA Railroad and there were about 20-30 people already sitting in chairs, mostly in the shade. Every spot against the shaded area rail looking over Main Street was occupied by a person in a chair. You could easily get a standing spot behind a seated person and see well from the shaded area. No one was near the rail in the sunny area, so you could have a great spot there. When we first arrived at the platfoam there wasn't a spare chair that I saw. After about 5 minutes, I noticed 4 vacant chairs in the shaded area and a lone table in the sunny area. dh and ds where playing inside the train station so dd and I asked the nice folks near the chairs and table if they were available. No one claimed the chairs and table after asking so we dragged them to the middle of the shaded area behind the folks against the rail. We placed the table and chairs close enough to the folks in front of us so no one could stand in front of us, but far enough away not to interfere with the rail people. There was one funny man who "acted" a scene of pretending I was stealing his chairs, he was very funny and added to the fun of the moment. He came up to me a couple times and joked about the chairs. I like making acquaintances at WDW! He was a hoot! I only took 3 of the 4 chairs so someone could have the spare. I thought ds is only 2 and can sit on my lap. The area started to get busy right around 3pm, but still very good. You could easily walk around the area and not disturb any one nor they you. I knew the parade started at 3pm at the BEGINNING OF THE PARADE in Frontierland and that it wouldn't reach us for 10 or 15 minutes. I had to giggle at a few angry folks who were all upset that it was 3:01pm and NO PARADE! I didn't dare tell them that we wouldn't see the parade until about 3:15pm. They disappeared and life was good again. The seats were great and the parade was beautiful. We only got to the platform at 2:30pm and it was fine. I don't like getting any place too early and this timing was just dandy! Good Luck! Sandra

Sounds like you had a great time! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the info, Sandra - I will have to check out this spot next trip - I love being near the front of the park, because we always be-line out to the monorail as the parade ends.
