Trip Report Aulani June 2025

Hello!
This is our trip report from June 2025!

Basic Info:

We are DVC owners at AKL and Aulani we own between my husband, me and my parents.

We stayed in a 2 Bedroom Ocean room view in Aulani from June 8 -15th.

This is our 3rd time staying here.

Here is the whole family!



My parents in their 60s on the right... my dad loves looking out at the Ocean and my mom loves being grandma going doing stuff with my son and loves Hawaii.

I am the Disney obsessed, classic Disney mom.. now in my 40s... wow I am old now. Lol. Also love Hawaii! So Aulani combines both my loves.

My son is 8 years old and loves beaches, pools, Disney, dinos and sharks .

My husband on the far left is in his 40s too, loves star wars, marvel and Hawaii.

I will be updating this as I go. I love putting in lots of pics of my trips!

Please comment and ask questions as I slowly update it! Cause even if I did not do something this trip.. I probably did it another trip so still may be able to help you

Day 1: Travel Day.
We are flying around noon on a direct flight from Denver to Honululo.

We check in and go through security.

We then split up, we go to the Captial One lounge in Denver and my parents go to United.


I love getting free drinks! Start off with a mimosas!

Yummy waffles and other food.




We eat and drink and then head to our airplane.

Nothing special on the airplane... it is long flight. My parents are in first class, we use points for the rest of us and getting economy plus. Not very comfortable but better then regular economy.

When we land we are soo happy to get there.
We get a car through Costco Alamo. The best value. Make sure u check in online so u can skip the desk.

We then drive to Aulani. We have got this process down since this is a our 3rd time.

While driving we got our room. I checked in online. Super excited, got my top request 1650!

Soo we pull up and unload and strait to the room.

And man do we love this room!

We are on the top floor!

With the best view!


Soo excited!!

I loove this lamp some day I will buy it but it is just soo expensive.

Overall we love room here. Everything is laid out well. Including a 3rd half bath that I forgot to take pics. The room has hidden mickey touches and has the realistic Hawaiian look... not the fake look u see most places.

The one main complaint though for my parents were the beds are too soft. Beds are one of those personal things... so for some that could be your preference.

We wait for bell service to bring up bags while my parent go shop for groceries.
They were quick to bring up bags.
We change into bathing suits and head down.

They have a show going on. We stopped to watch for a min or two. I love the live entertainment they have here.


We then go to quick service for dinner.
We were wanting poke bowls. We love them. I try to order my normal and found out that they do not do full customize poke bowls anymore... now only semi... and they have onions in them... I hate onions... bah... my husband's order his and I order the fresh catch for dinner. I also bring our popcorn bucket and we get a 1 dollar refill for being dvc. A great deal. We also brought our cup and use it to get free refills. Another great deal. Always save your cups and popcorn buckets.

While I wait in check out the yummy dessert case... I will come back for these later.

My husband poke bowls, her loved it.


Then my fish, macadamia nut crusted white fish... it is good for quick service but the worst fish I had the whole trip. Definitely get the poke bowls instead if u do not mind onions. The fish in that melts in your mouth.

We get our bands and towels for today and tommorow. (Best tip, get the next days wrist band the night before so u do not have to wait in the long lines.)

My son goes and swims... he has a lot of pent up energy for being in an airplane all day.


I love this pool and the infinity edge.

They had a photographer out at the pool so did our first offical picture.


Then played with my son and just enjoyed the sunset.



We switched... my husband's turn. Our son has soo much energy!







We head back to the room and dry out. My parents unpacked the groceries.

Watched more sunset from out wonderful balcony and then we head to bed.

Day 2....

When I find out I am an idiot...

Soo today I thought I scheduled shark diving for the family. We booked a private boat. We wake up early... well not hard since we are on Colorado time. We eat breakfast in the room. We leave by 5:15 to north shore for shark diving. A little rush hour we hit but once we head to the north shore no traffic. We pull into the meeting spot see our boat and check in... they did not have us on scheduled. I show them our reservation and it turns out I booked the wrong monday... instead of this Monday I booked next monday... yep I did that. So my first tip for today... re check your dates. They had me call a number to rebook and they could fit us in on even an earlier boat... so 6am! Soo yeah we at least got it rescheduled. Then we talk about what to do next... we decided to just go back to the resort.

But first let's stop at Leonards! They have a food truck near our resort so we stop and get a bunch of mallasadas. No line here unlike the bakery. My husband went crazy and got one each.


Man I love the pink box.

They are soo yummy and hot.

We arrive just before 8... we dash to get loungers in the shade I find some but they are next to a loud generator... not ideal but better than nothing.

And we eat!


Since we already had our bathing suits on it was simple for my son to just jump into the pool.



My mom switches out our shark stuff with pool stuff and makes us drinks and brings it down.

Mimosas make everything better.

While they are playing I sign us up for reef snorkeling for the week. Such a great deal. Just a few dollars more and u get to snorkel for the whole trip. My son loves that and to my surprise there were still some time slot opening for fish feeding! I am use to them selling out if u did not get there right when they open. So we get a time slot for later I the afternoon.
I then head to aunties to cancel Tuesday reservation and get the aunties magic band for my son.

My mom now switches out with my husband and my husband and me head to the adult hit tub.

I love the view.



We then switch out with my mom and we do the slides and lazy river. No pics.

Lunch time we decided to just give up our loungers and head to the room. We pick up some quick service and bring it up to the room.


I loove the cocunt shrimp here!


After we relax and lunch we head back down
For fish feeding. My son loves this.

Ohh forgot... we did snorkeling before lunch right after I signed us up for it.. lol.

The fee includes all the rental gear which is nice. The water is cold but u get use to it.

It was good for my son to practice the snorkeling in the calm tank before shark diving actually. We were happy that we did this before shark diving now.

Once my son got use to the cold and snorkeling again... which did take a bit he loved it.

My son loves going to window area where people can look in and loves waving to grandma.

This snorkeling experience really sets Aulani apart from most other resorts. This is such a great way for beginners to get use to snorkeling.

I don't think u can use wdw popcorn bucket or cup... but honestly I don't know. We just bought the Aulani’s popcorn bucket and cup a couple of years ago and just have been useing that.

In the afternoon we went down and checked in with dvc lounge to sign up for the dvc member party that night. We love the free little show they do for us.

We listen to their little pitch and got some free stuff.

Also love this ship here, when we where here during covid this was not here.

We also checked out the shops!
I we bought a bit and I finally got the ornament lamp! I went every day last two trips trying to get that lamp! They finally had in stock for me!

If they do not have what u want check again after 5 on the weekdays. That is when they get their new shipment in.

My son got a new toy. He loves these.




Ignore him not smiling... he loves his new toy he just did not want me to keep taking pics, he thought I did enough pics already. Lol.

We got a lot of cute merch. I love my sons new stitch shirt and hat. The new stich merch at Aulani is on point.


I got Ulu Mel merch. I wish they had more merch. I kept going back each day for more. I loove Ulu Mel! Also some cute kitchen towels.


I also got a reusable bag. They are useful in Hawaii since they do not do plastic bags. I also like to have them because Denver is the same way. So I like having cute reusable bags.

We head back up to the room.

We change for dinner and the rest of the family chills. I have issues and decide to go meet some characters. So I head down to wait for Shellie May. I loove that we can meet Duffy Characters here!

And I see Goofy!

I wait in line to meet Shelliemay! She is soo adorable and I put on my new Olu Mel hat on and my olu mel outfit that I got last time and meet her. She looves my Olu me outfit.
I do loove meeting Duffy Characters they are soo cute.





Then after pics we head to dinner. We are doing happy our at Roys. If I remember correctly 2 to 5 are the happy hour times. We gave not done it before and it has been on our list to try.
It is only a 5 min walk to the golf course where roys is so I decide to walk while the rest of my family drives... lol.
As I head out I grab a cup of water. Love that they added these back, a nice refreshing choice.

The walk over is so easy, I take some pics at the golf course. It is really pretty.


And of course take a pic at the cute statue.


Then I walk in and tell them I am here for happy hour. They have us sit in the lovely deck. With views of the waterfall and golf course. There is plenty of shade to since it is covered.

Soo it was easy to grab a table. No reservations needed for happy hour.

I order a mai tai while I wait. A good solid mai tai and comes in a cute cup!


Everyone shows up and then they all order a mai tai too. Lol so cannot show other drinks yet.

There is no kids menu... so they let my son order off the regular kids menu.
Came with so yummy veggie dips.

And my son tried the fish he loved it. The fish is the right amount of plain with a hint of sweetness from the sauce it was baked it, just perfect for a kid to try.


We got 2 orders of the Roys Canoe. We loved it. Such a great sampling of different yummy food. The tuna was my fav and melted in your mouth.

Also order some wings to share. They were good too. I am a wing girl.


And we order Brussels sprouts which was everyone's favorite.


Next drink I tried the Pinapple Martani. Soo good!

Next dessert!
This pineapple dessert was amazing!

And the chocolate souffle melted in your mouth!! We all raved about the desserts here.


My mom orders a fun espresso martini that she loves for her dessert.

And the kids meal includes icecream sandwich. Which my son loved it.

Overall... we loved Roys at Ko Olina Golf course and it is now on our rotation when we come back. Happy hour is perfect for us, prices are a bit more reasonable. The atmosphere is great on the deck, better than inside restruant which looks like a typical golf course restruant. The food and drinks were all great. And our waitress was soo friendly and nice. She kept coming back and made jokes with us and was very knowledgeable about the food when we had questions on it. Happy hour is great to since we are still on Colorado time soo this would be our normal dinner time anyways. The deck was not crowded at all... this place is like a hidden little secrect. As we were leaving the crowds were coming in for dinner. Perfect time for us to leave


Then we went back to our resort. I walked again and my son decided to join me while everyone else drove...So silly. But if u drive, super easy to get parking here unlike many other places.

As I walk into our hotel... I take a moment to just reflect on our lobby. I love this resort.
