Salute Tickets and Military Resort Discounts are Back at DL!

Excited about the military discount returning. Military families need this perk more than ever right now! Thanks, Disney!

I got the same response from them. Not surprised really, but it is a great idea for them to do a call back list. Thankfully I have time still, but would like to get them sooner rather than later so I can lock in the park passes for November before they are all out.

Although it's always better to get them sooner rather than later, with the increased capacity, you don't have to worry about dates selling out.

Right now every date is open for park hopper tickets.

Our trip is in just a couple weeks, so I hope Pendleton calls me back soon!

So Update #2 on the Resort Reservation today. I spent an hour and a half on the phone trying to switch my reservation and was told that they have none of the Salute room discounts for 11/9-11/14. The only one that she was able to find for those days is the regular everyday 10% military discount. I am hoping it is just the system still updating itself and not that they are already out for those days seeing as I called right at 7 this morning and was told to call back because the system wasn't ready.

On the bright side though Camp Pendleton called me back and our park tickets are ordered. Super easy, they are printing them off and FedEx Overnighting them to me so that if all goes well I can do our park reservations on Thursday when those dates open up.

I'm going to call again later or tomorrow about the hotel reservation to see if there is any change.

I got a call back from them while I was on the phone trying to switch the resort reservation so you should get a call soon. They will FedEx them to you so you'll have them in plenty of time.

I got the call from Pendleton a few minutes ago, and placed my ticket order. They are so nice, especially considering they are completely swamped today!

I also called at 7 PDT, and must have caught the right CM. She said she would keep trying to get it, and after an hour, she did! It was 40% off for two nights at DLH in just a couple weeks. I am seeing the updated info in my account. Call back!
Thank you! I called and was able to get a rate adjustment and apply the salute!

My Dreams Unlimited agent was also able to apply the 40% discount for our stay Oct 14-17 at the Disneyland Hotel. I already had a reservation with the 10% discount, so she was able to switch it to the 40% discount. I'm so excited by the amount of money we are saving! Tomorrow my husband will go to the base and get our tickets. I'm so glad I waited to see whether they would bring the Salute discount back.

Does the military member need to be present to use the tickets? My in laws are retired military, and go to the PX all the time. I was thinking they could buy some tickets for us, but they wouldn’t be coming to the parks.

Yes, they do. The member has to be present to show ID, and to use one of the tickets.

Update: My DL salute tickets (paper printouts with a barcode, a sheet for each ticket) just landed on my doorstep in Ohio, via FedEx, less than 24 hours after placing the order over the phone with Camp Pendleton.

Tickets linked, parks reserved for two weeks from tomorrow.

I love it when a plan comes together!

My tickets came in the mail from Camp Pendleton yesterday and I linked them to the account. I can't book park passes until next Tuesday because it is so far out.

As for the resort stay I was able to switch it to the 10% off Military Discount for 11/9-11/14 and hopefully when they open the other towers I will be able to get the 40% off. The CM said that they had the discount on a Grand Californian Concierge room for that period which was tempting because it wasn't much more than my original non-discounted rate but I passed for now. They also said that they are hearing that the Concierge rooms at DLH will be bookable soon but she wasn't sure when. That tells me that once those are opened up the Adventure Tower will be also since that is were the lounge is located. Once I see that I am going to call back and:

A-see if I can make the request for the Adventure Tower with Downtown Disney View
B-See if they have more of the 40% discounts available at that point
C-See if I can get a concierge room at DLH with the discount so that I get all of the above lol.

For reference the Concierge room at DGC would have been a total (with tax) of $4,000 or about $800 a night. Regular rate is closer to $1,250 which is why it was so tempting.

Has anyone used these new tickets yet?

I am finally able to start doing park reservations for our trip in November. The downside is that I can't do the whole stay at once like I could at WDW. It may be because the tickets aren't part of the room reservation but I don't know. So far have 11/10 and 11/11 The next couple of days I will add the 11/12 and 11/13 reservations.

I am interested to see how it goes once people start using them. As it stands now we have the barcode for the ticket they will have to scan and then a QR code each day for the park reservation. I haven't checked on the app to see if they are both in there but hoping it is a pretty smooth process.

You're just running into the 120 day rolling window for reservation availability.

The tickets are in the app, but the reservations are not (at least I can't find them there). You'd hope that scanning the ticket would automatically pull up the reservation, but the DL app is not as well-integrated as MDE, so I am not counting on that. I took a screenshot of the QR codes for our reservations each day from the email, to pull up if we need it.

I'll report back next week!

I've been to the parks 7 times now. Not once have I ever needed to pull up a QR reservation code. You should see your upcoming reservations on the app home page, right at the top.

after an hour on hold, I was able to book GC 12/5-12/10 ! With the 40 % discount.
That's wonderful!! I'm thinking about planning a trip at the same time. Does the military member need to be present at hotel check-in (ie. if I arrive early, can I start check-in, or should I wait for my military dad to arrive)?

Yes. They ask for a military ID matching the lead name on the reservation at check in every time.

Great, that's good to know!

I see this in the app, but not the QR codes. When I click on that, it redirects to the website. I meant that I did not see them actually in the app. Am I missing them? Not a big deal if I don't need them, of course!

589480 Thanks!
