Salted Peanuts in the shell, do you eat the shell too?

It depends on how young the peanut inside is. If it is really young, yes, I've eaten the shell, too.

What do you do if they have no ID on them?

Until now, I've never heard of eating the shell.

I started doing it a few years ago... I like it, and figured it was good roughage!

But I only eat the shells when nobody else is around.

Wouldn't it hurt a little to chew?
(sometimes when i couldn't get a pumpkin seed to open i would eat it shell and all. It was a little gross but i've stopped now.)
