Happy Mother's Day to all!!

After 12 weeks away my DH was home for 3 days and is now back to traveling again so it's just me and the kiddos for Mom's Day. Love getting woken up with a Diet Dr Pepper and a handful of M&M's for breakfast.

Laura wanted to know what we did for Mother's Day... so, here is what I did! Another DIS friend and her children took me to The Melting Pot for lunch. I had initially said, "no, thank you," but Bob insisted that I go. So I called her back and re-invited myself. We had a wonderful time!

Kathrin sent me two half pounds of cheese: Stilton and Berkshire Blue and another two will arrive later this month. I am in heaven!! Kristin (who is at MCO waiting for her return flight to VA) is buying me new patio chairs to match the table I got last year.

Bob said this morning that he was upset that he couldn't do anything wonderful for me for Mother's Day. I was shocked... I told him he did the most wonderful thing of all: he gave me our two beautiful daughters!

Ok so i'm starting to freak out now... we were supposed to be packing out in a week and a half. and leavening for Disney in 12 days. Dh came home Thursday and said they revoked his orders sending him to tx and said they may or may not reinstate them next week. This messes everything up, we should know more by tomorrow. But if we aren't going then that means i won't be able to take kids out of school early. We had planned to disenroll the kids from school so they weren't counted absent for the last 3 days of , but without orders we can't do that. My oldest dd has been sick a lot this year but not sick enough to go to the dr's so if she misses anymore days she will not be allowed to move up to the next grade, even tho her grades are good. If dh's does get his orders reinstated then he would have to go to tx and the kids and i would have to come back here to get things packed and shipped down to tx as we would not have time between now and may 20th to receive new shipping dates and such. (btw for those who are confused dh is military so we go where they send us) If it ends up that we are not going to tx i'm going to have to try and switch our Disney trip from the dates i have now to sometime in July. I soooo don't want to do this as it is so hot and we'll probably have to take whatever room they will give us that will fit our crew and we’ll have to stay a day less then what we originally planned. Then that means having to change all my dining ressies and we'll miss SWW. Bah i am really not liking the military right about now.

Anyways sorry for the rant and thanks for listening. Hopefully we’ll get some pixi dust tomorrow and everything will right itself.

I have not booked anything yet because of hubby's orders He is in school and won't finish till end of july and than they want him to report in sometime in august to japan Without going home to see family. Yeah, we would not be in good standing with family. As it is family is bugging me about when are going home. They just don't get it A total mess.

If hubby gets his orders reinstated, won't you be able to keep your moving appointmments? I would hope they would reinstate those for you. I hope you can get it all figured out.

Hi everyone!! I'm so excited....I am going to AKL this weekend to celebrate my DD's 10th birthday! We live in Orlando and this is our first time staying at AKL. It will be just me and THREE 10 year old girls....what was I thinking?!? LOL! We have an Arusha view, Zebra trail, 3rd floor room. Hopefully it will be awesome!

Any tips/tricks/must-do's? What are these zebra dome things that I heard about?

I want to try to decorate the table for dinner and have goody bags put out without the girls seeing me. It will be hard for me to do that, though, since I am the only adult with our group. Plus I need to get organized for cake/cupcakes. Debating whether to bring my own or order from there. I'm not sure where we are going to eat. Maybe just that Mara restaurant pool-side. What are the other restaurants like? I don't want to have to get the girls dressed up, so we want something casual. Will they "reserve" a table for us so that I can try to sneak down before-hand and decorate the table?

I'm going to try to read through the AKL threads and get all the cool info that has been collected over the years, but there are a LOT of pages, so if anyone has a "top 10" list for AKL, I'd love to hear it!

I have to have lunch w/relatives that I don't like so I'm not looking forward to that...Hopefully Scott and I will get to go out and do something fun later.

Beauty is doing fine

I start my new job now on Monday 5/9, so I still have over a week to go! Wish I could go to WDW for a few days 1st The 1st few days of training (maybe even the 1st full week) the hours are 9am-3pm as to not inundate us w/info. SO thats not too bad, and it's Mon-Fri while in training.

Well, I am back from my vacation. We had a wonderful time, DH is back at work today, but I still have another day off and will go back on a late shift tomorrow.

i'm trying to keep myself from having a panic attack right now...dh is off to take a test and everything kinda depends on how it goes. If he bombs then we'll know that we aren't going to tx but if he aces it then we might be going and we'd have to wait till the end of the week till we know anything.

I just wanted to say that I have just booked to stay at the AKL CL for the 1st week in December. we have always stayed at a value resort but decided to splurge since this was our first time to see DW at Christmas. the funny part is that we were originally booked at a standard room at GF but changed last week and still saved $2000. My DW and DD9 are excited and DD9 is already asking to sleep on the balcony next to the animals.

I'm back from my crazy whirlwind weekend at Disney.

AKL is gorgeous. I broke all my own rules though and didn't spend much time at the resort to enjoy all it had to offer. (And I'm paying the price now - my knees and feet are killing me!).

I do know I want to go back and stay longer so I can wander the resort more (wandering while lost trying to find my room doesn't count, does it? LOL).

The buses weren't bad at all except the Saturday evening heading back to AKL from DtD. It was crowded and of course, the bus drivers change shifts at Pleasure Islands stop. At 11:30pm, that wasn't fun. Ugh.

Oh and if you book a pool room and they put you in 2036, ask for a different room. It didn't matter to me since I wasn't in the room much but the smoking area is right there so you can't really enjoy your balcony, looking straight out from the balcony door is a service type road and you can see one of the hot tubs to the right but not the pool.

I figured I'd better pass that tidbit along so someone who was planning on relaxing balcony time wouldn't appreciate that view. I think that room should be standard view.

And Zebra domes rock! Yum.
