I just wanted to say that I have just booked to stay at the AKL CL for the 1st week in December. we have always stayed at a value resort but decided to splurge since this was our first time to see DW at Christmas. the funny part is that we were originally booked at a standard room at GF but changed last week and still saved $2000.My DW and DD9 are excited and DD9 is already asking to sleep on the balcony next to the animals.

i'm trying to keep myself from having a panic attack right now...dh is off to take a test and everything kinda depends on how it goes. If he bombs then we'll know that we aren't going to tx but if he aces it then we might be going and we'd have to wait till the end of the week till we know anything.
Hi everyone!! I'm so excited....I am going to AKL this weekend to celebrate my DD's 10th birthday! We live in Orlando and this is our first time staying at AKL. It will be just me and THREE 10 year old girls....what was I thinking?!? LOL! We have an Arusha view, Zebra trail, 3rd floor room. Hopefully it will be awesome!
Any tips/tricks/must-do's? What are these zebra dome things that I heard about?
I want to try to decorate the table for dinner and have goody bags put out without the girls seeing me. It will be hard for me to do that, though, since I am the only adult with our group. Plus I need to get organized for cake/cupcakes. Debating whether to bring my own or order from there. I'm not sure where we are going to eat. Maybe just that Mara restaurant pool-side. What are the other restaurants like? I don't want to have to get the girls dressed up, so we want something casual. Will they "reserve" a table for us so that I can try to sneak down before-hand and decorate the table?
I'm going to try to read through the AKL threads and get all the cool info that has been collected over the years, but there are a LOT of pages, so if anyone has a "top 10" list for AKL, I'd love to hear it!
I'm thinking maybe mid-late july. Hoping for the 2br villa with a savannah view but won't get my hopes up...oh and we'll have to stay 1 less night as that puts us in a higher point bracket. What other DVC options would you all recommend that would fit our family of 6? Any help is appreciated...and maybe a little pixi dust as well? Thanks.

Good morning. So a small update, Dh didn't bomb the test but didn't ace it either. needed around a 1500 and got 1350ish which is really good any other time but this one. sooo now we have to see if I can still take dd1 out of school 3 days early. if not i'll be calling to postpone our trip.
