Hey all!:goodvibes

As usual I can never catch up:sad2:

I've got a start date for my new job:banana: I've got orientation on Fri 5/6, then we start training Mon 5/9...Turns out I could've worked at least another week at the temp laundry place, heavens knows I need the money, but the heck with them:laughing: Turns out I'll have almost 2 weeks between jobs..Nice little break:goodvibes
Puppy is doing great, we just love her:lovestruc Tonight is week 2 of puppy training class, hope she is more comfortable tonight...Week 1 she was so freaked out, I felt so bad, I got home and cried:guilty: Thought it was just too much for her...But she's getting better about being around other people and other dogs.

173 more days until AKLV CL, I can hardly stand it:rotfl:

We are still waiting for pictures of your puppy:goodvibes

Good morning! :wave2:

Violent weather expected here later today/tonight.

:scared1: Stay safe. This weather has been so crazy.

So our family is traveling in a group of 7. My DH, me, my mom and 4 kids. I booked 2 rooms at AKL and requested that we have rooms next door to each other, across the hall or connecting. I booked online so should I give them a call and actually talk to someone to put that in my requests??? We're traveling with 4 small children and while there will be an adult in each room I really don't want to be stuck at the other end of the hotel from my mom and 2 of the kids. I know it's not a guarantee but would it help to actually put a call in.
Also, if we check in earlier in the day do we have a better chance of connecting rooms?

:wave2: Hi Everyone! I have been missing in action for some time. But....I am back and enjoying the new thread.....which is a couple months old.....But good catching up with you all. Kimmar, love the new pages and look of this thread.

Only thing, when I found it I was reading quickly and thought it said "Saki's Alive AKL Lite V!" I thought....WOW I like Saki and AKL, but that is strange! :lmao:

The Nahtazu and Victoria Falls Mist. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Was I too quick to answer a question about alcohol? :lmao:

Kathy

Kathy, not at all we all love a good drink after a hard day on vacation! :drinking1 :goodvibes

YES indeedy - that IS wrong!!!! Glad to see you here though, I miss all of the "old" gang who aren't around as much............ When in Oct. is your trip? I know a lot of us are going to be there - we're even planning a mini jamborini meet - ( I think we are anyway).
My dates are Oct. 2 - 8th - at jambo house.

Hi Sweetie, how you doing? I have really missed you guys. If I could only stop working, cleaning, eating and sleeping i would have more time for the DIS.

....well, since you ARE an original Jambo member, you'd better make it a point to join us more often.....:teeth:

I know this was not said for me, but I did see the words and promise to hang out more often. :rolleyes1

Disney Recipe – FRUNCH
Brian on July 5, 2007 | Filed Under Disney Recipes

"By far one of the best buffet restaurants in Walt Disney World is Boma, which is located inside the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The atmosphere and the wide selection of foods with an African twist makes this spot an enjoyable one after a great day at the parks. However, one of the best kept secrets is the Breakfast Buffet at Boma which has an equally wide menu of items, including today’s ‘Disney Recipe of the Day’ which is FRUNCH!

Instead of grabbing a glass of OJ next time you have breakfast at home, try this amazing concoction!"

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups – Mango Juice

1 – 8oz can of frozen Pineapple Juice (prepared)
1 – 8oz can of frozen Lemon Juice (prepared)
1 – 8oz can of frozen Orange Juice (prepared)

3/4 cup – Grenadine

"Here’s what you do: Prepare the frozen juices according to the instructions on each can (it’s easiest to empty the cans into a large bowl and add the appropriate amount of water per the package instructions.) No need to do each separately. Just empty them in a bowl, mix in the amount of water required and stir. Then, add the Mango juice and Grenadine to the mix. Serve in a glass over ice and there you have it!

Also, if you’re like me and are not really fond of the concentrate versions of the juice, you can certainly substitute fresh squeezed or the ‘not from concentrate’ versions of the juice which you can find in any grocery store. Each can will normally make 64-ounces of juice so just substitute a 1/2 gallon of each juice if you’re not using the concentrate versions. This does make a TON of Frunch but will easily keep in the fridge like any other juice. Plus, if you have a smaller gathering, you can certainly cut everything in half if need be.

Just another way to ‘Bring Home the Magic’ so hope you enjoy!"

Thank you for the recipe. I am excited to have this to add to my Disney cook book.

Hello to Elin, you and Bob are in my prayers. I hope he is able to come home soon.

I have only made it to page 30 and thought I had better post before I have to start preparing dinner. I will be back to finish reading soon.

:grouphug:

By the way we have an annual pass burning a hole in our safty deposit box at the bank. Have to seriously think about a trip before November! I have not been doing much Disney stuff any AP specials anyone want to share?

Angel 16

Hey Angel......... How are you???!!!! We've missed you around here!!! Glad to see you back! :flower3: Also, no clue about AP discounts, but there ARE a lot of going in early Oct.............. (hint hint) :)

Hello all. We stayed at AKL for the first time a couple of years ago and it was everything I dreamed it would be. So, this year when the kids said they really wanted to spend Christmas at Disney DH and I decided to splurge and we booked AKL. I figured it was worth the extra expense to celebrate Christmas there, and we will also use the trip to celebrate our 25th anniversary a little late. We will be CL from December 22-29!

I'm hoping some of you AKL vets can tell me if they do anything special on Christmas Day at the resort. I know years ago we got a little box of chocolate on the door Christmas morning but have no idea if they still do anything like that. Any info would be appreciated.

Good morning! :wave2:

Looks like you might have gotten some of it. Are you all OK??? We had tornado warnings all around us earlier but they seem to have dissipated.

Good Morning Golden Sunshine Girl!!! How's Bob doing??

Making progress every day. That is the best I can say. It is not nearly fast enough for him, but all his therapists and I are seeing big steps. He has an appointment next Thursday with a ENT to evaluate the damage to his vocal cords. Hopefully that will be another positive step for him.

The storms didn't reach our area of metro Atlanta until almost midnight. We definitely got lucky -- only 2 "rounds" of storms and no damage.

From the reports I've seen this morning, parts of northwest Georgia had severe storms/tornadoes and plenty of damage. I'm sure our news will be full of reports after the sun comes up.

Glad to hear your area wasn't hit.

They came last night thru here and second round this morning. We had a tornado kill 4 last night and several schools closed around here, they are advising people to stay home until they pass , so here i am on the train.

We are still under tornado watches here too. There was a little damage from one in our county last night, but no injuries reported that I am aware of. What a horrible past 24 hours of weather. Stay safe everyone!
