Have you looked into what it would cost to get 4 military park hopper tickets($552)? that would give you 8 days at the park...or you could even get up to 6 tickets ($826)and have 12 days
actually the additional discounts are what is making the AP such an appealing idea.. between discounts on some food and shopping options and the ability to buy the TiW card for an even bigger discount on other restaurants( including my beloved V&A).
next question, so apparently APs are eligible for room rate discounts. when booking do I have to have an AP in hand already to get that discount, or will there be an issue changing said rate after the fact if I get an AP the day we arrive and then go back down to the lobby?
hmmmm. now i have to do some extra number crunching. however TiW does work at V&A I know and since that is a moral imperative....the cost would be recouped very easily just eating there pretty much heheheh
does AP come with hopping or is that an add on? ordinarily we never use it as I can pretty much only handle one park a day but we have already decided to set aside 2 days each for Epcot and AK and one each for MK and HS. was gonna add hopping only to widen our din din choices. of course I may just opt to do din din at resorts and any DTD locales on the plan...
good thing I have like 18 months to figure all this out, huh?!![]()
Just popping in to say helloSo I was the last post on the old thread that got closed huh? Figures

popping in for the first time as DH and I finalized our September 2012 vacation plans.
we have decided to go for ten days, CL at AKL. WooT!!!!
this will be a combination anniversary and thank gawd he's back from 2 years in Japan trip. he gets back from Japan in spring of 2012. and since I didn't go with him....he owes me.
normally we stay at Shades of Green but dammit I wanna go all out this time. we are even gonna *gasp* spring for park hopper AND a dining Plan! gotta decide which plan is best for your situation and you can be assured I will be picking brains. (but not eating any. not that exotic or adventurous. Yak or wild boar, fine. no monkey brains).
we have eaten at Jiko before and WILL return. at least once. and if we opt for deluxe DP.. maybe more than once heheheh.
First question: how is the resort WRT to wheelchairs. I do NOT need a HA room, I can transfer just peachy fine. nor will I necessarily need it while at the resort just wandering about. but going to and fro the parks.. absosmurfly. I know the buses do not share with any other resort but am a tad concerned with missing a slot since there are two stops. is it possible/practical to, if necessary, fold it up and just take a regular seat( but I would definitely need to SIT, no SRO for this chick alas. DH can stand, he's a big strong manly man although since he will be pushing me around all day he may prefer to get what little down time he can.
and would either of the 2 safaris be possible in a chair? depending on difficulty level I may be able to go sans wheels if there was no prolonged standing, stairs or excessive walking.
Can't wait to get down and dirty with the plotti..err planning![]()
OK AKL experts.......Help. I asked on a thread earlier this evening but nobody so far has answered. Does anyone know if there are power outlets on the room table like those at CSR? I'm beginning to wonder if they're there because it is a convention resort. Was just wondering whether or not I needed to bring my power strip. I don't like having my things plugged in all around the room. (Too easy for a scatterbrain such as myself to forget things when rushing out the door!)![]()

My memory is that the hotel rooms do NOT have the plugs as part of the desks. I remember having to plug in our power strip, crawling under the desk to do it, a few years back. Now, they could have remodeled and changed that in the interim....I don't know.
The Villas do have the plugs as part of the desk in the bedrooms...both at Kidani and Jambo. There are two outlets.
OK, thanks! I'll just bring my power strip to keep everything in one place. We'll have battery chargers for 2 cameras, 2 cell phones, a dvd player, and a DSi. Just don't like havingeverything all over the place. Thanks again for the rapid response!!! We leave SUNDAY!!!!!![]()

Hello Everyone! Newbie to this thread. Finally caught up on all the reading... or most of it! First I want to sending hugs, prayers, condolences, good vibes
and pixie dust
to all who have had some good and not so good things going on. All are in my thoughts.
Wow lots going on here. Love reading all the questions and side banter. I am coming home in October. Stayed at Kidani in 2 br last Nov. Best view on the Sunset Savannah. Had one family with me who had never been to WDW and another who were taking their first vacation without Dad (Mom and Dad separated) It was fun and hard at the same time.
I am heading down in Oct. to celebrate my birthday. I am more excited about this trip than most trips in the past.
I am splitting my stay. 10/15-10/19 at VWL and 10/19-10/23 at AKV- Jambo House. Look forward to reading more and getting great advice and tips from everyone. Biggest decision: where to have my birthday dinner. Suggestions needed. As of right now this trip is my solo trip. (friends keep inviting themselves along- trying to hold out on letting them join me)
BTW I've never eaten at a Sonic and yes I am a Yankees fan....![]()
Just wanted to say welcome! Also thanks for all our postive thoughts and wishes. We have stayed at both resort and love both for different reasons. As far as your BD dinner I really don't kow what to suggest. Maybe Ohanna while Wishes is going on? They lower the lights and pipe in music and you can watch Wishes while eating. Also another oen is if you like a rowdy dinner try Whispering Canyon. Just don't let you waiter know that you stolled the ketchup.![]()
I miss Kim also. I actually wanted to post a question on her trippie, but I don't feel like it's time to push the envelope if you know what I mean. This is so OT and doesn't belong here, but maybe someone could help.
In August we are taking DS to Daytona and Disney for his bday. Right now we are in Daytona 4 nights, leaving early on day 5 to go over to Disney for 6 days. After reading Kim's report, I think I want to take the boys over to do the following rides:
Harry Potter
Simpson's
Men in Black
Shrek
Revenge of the Mummy
The Blues Brothers Show
Fear Factor Live
(and I thought maybe there was a Jaws show, but I can't find it)
So here are my questions: Are these rides all in the same park? Is anything worse than SM because of my neck injury? Can this line-up be done if we arrive really early and start with HP?
Last but not least, I am allergic to the sun. Disney does everything they can to accommodate me. Does anyone know how Universal is with hidden disabilities. Yes, I know I should go over to the other thread, but I feel uncomfortable, especially when my question is always the only one without answers, if you know what I mean. I am comfortable here, and hope someone can help. Thanks everyone!!![]()
Morning Jamborini's - Hope Everyone had a good Easter - we had a great day -

On another note - YAY Jen - you ended the lite thread - whoop whoop!!!Sorry to see it go............. I think I might make "us" Jamborini's a siggie sign - to commemorate one of the BEST threads on the DIS!!!
