Sake's Alive! AKL Lite V!!

Good morning! I have a new question (well, really it ended up more than that!) for all you AKL knowledgable fans. My SIL will be staying at AKL the same time we will be there but she will be in the Villas and we will be staying CL. Are those two areas close or are they a long way away? What is the best way to get back and to? Will we have to go to her room all the time or can she come visit us at our room in CL?

Good morning, Jamborinis! :sunny:

Thanks, everyone, for asking about Bob (and me!). His progress continues. We know this will be a very long recovery period because of the severity of his stroke. But he plugs away every day at rehab and here at home and has made some amazing strides in so many areas. There are some things that are improving and others that may never return to where they were before January 17. All that being said... I am so very fortunate to have my best friend back with me that there can be very few complaints from our little spot in the world! :goodvibes

CL rooms are on 4th; Jambo Villas are on 5th floor; CL Lounge is on 6th. Your SIL will be able to get to your room no problem since it is in the public area. The only area that can not be accessed without a special key is the Club Lounge and DVC-CL Villas on the 6th floor.

Your CL room should be near the lobby/elevators; a Villa could be a bit of a hike if SIL's room is way down one of the trails.

Happy news Elin! Prayers for Bob's continued progress.

Thank you so much! That will be great! I was so worried that she would be a long way away, like the buildings at CSR or POP. LOL

Glad to help! :goodvibes SIL will be in the same building, as long as she's in a Jambo Villa. (She is in Jambo, right? Kidani IS a separate building and about a 10-minute walk to Jambo House.) :)

Just noticed my ticker: 3 weeks to AKL-CL!!!!! :)

If they're staying at the villas....they should know which building they're in.

If they're in Jambo house...they'll be on the 5th floor (or 6th if they're in a CL villa) and you'll be on the 4th.

If they're in Kidani Village...they're about a 5 to 15 min walk away (depending on WHERE in Kidani village they are and how fast the "walkers" are) from your room. It's not all that bad, really. AND, you're on the same bus line to the parks, etc. Heck, you can even use the bus system as a sort of shuttle between the two buildings (theme park buses stop at Kidani, first, then go to Jambo....Downtown Disney buses stop at Jambo, first, then go to Kidani).

Does anyone have any pictures of the resort decorated for Christmas?

thanks in advance

I have a bunch, from Dec 2009...but they're all at home, archived to DVD. I'll look around and see what I can dig up.

There ARE some nice pics around, though:

:yay::yay: Congrats on the booking!! You and DH will have a blast!! You're going a great time of year -- but you will miss a number of us by several days. :sad1:

Maybe next trip! :thumbsup2

:sad1: About missing a number of the Jamborinis. But it was what worked out the best for us. We will spend a month visiting with family and than take a week to decompress before we move to Japan for 3 years:eek: I am gonna be on a plane for 24 hours:scared1: The kids have no idea we are doing this, sneaky laugh:rotfl:

Down to 2 weeks! So excited!!!

:cool1:

So glad to hear that Bob is doing so well. Go Bob Go:cheer2:

:surfweb: before I go get my nails done and order my tickets.:upsidedow

Sorry, lightening flash:rotfl: Happens all the time and I gotta ask before I forget;)

How hard would it be to get a dinner reservation at the restraunts at the end of Sept? Thinking one for the family four of us probably at Boma and one for date night just hubby and me:love: at Jiko or Saana

If I need to make reservations before we get there, do I need to pay off my reservation and how far out can I make it?

Thanks

You can make ADRs now and I know Boma does not require a Credit Card.

Yay, we will be together then since she has Jambo too. That will make it so much easier!

Congrats on the 3 weeks.

I took a break from packing boxes and I finally got caught up here.

Construction of our home should start in about two weeks and it will be ready by the middle of September. :yay: We will be renting nearby until then. We're leaving Delaware (where I was born and raised) on July 29. :sad2:

It took us about 70 minutes to get to the AKL. :woohoo::woohoo: I see many WDW day trips in my future. :rotfl: My DH and I had a great lunch at Sanaa. :thumbsup2 We started off with the bread service. I had Chicken with Red Curry Sauce and Shrimp with Green Curry Sauce. My DH had Beef Short Ribs with Red Curry Sauce and Spicy Durban Shrimp. Too full for dessert, but the Nahtazus were very tasty. :drinking1:drinking1

You can make ADRs at 180 days before arrival. Once you're past that (as you are), they don't have to be attached to your hotel reservation. Jiko, Sanaa and Boma do not require payment or a credit card guarantee. So go ahead and make your reservations!
