Hi

Is there a difference between booking a Savanna View and the Arusha View?

TIA
Stefy :)

Happy Independence Day, Jamborinis!

Good morning and thank you for adding us to the list! We can't wait to meet some of you!
happy fourth of july everyone!

Hi y'all! Can I join in this fun? I am heading down with DD for our first Oct trip (Oct 1-5) and first AKL trip and would love to be on the lookout for some of you! We are so excited!

-Sharyn

:welcome:

We're not going to AKV this year, but I have rented points already for April 8-14, 2012. We will be staying in Jambo House Value Studio. It will be our first time staying at AKL/AKV. We have visited once; but never stayed.

Looking forward to all I can learn from this thread. With us going over Spring Break, I am assuming we will spend more time at the resort than the parks.

:welcome: We love the value studios. Our first stay was at a value renting points in April,2010.

This was our view:

It was fun! I only attended the movie, so I didn't get a chance to talk to many people, but I made sure to meet Pete! :woohoo:

That must have been so much fun. How did you like the movie?

Happy Independence Day, Jamborinis!

Sorry to change the subject but...Could all of you experts please help me decide which restaurant to enjoy at AKL in Nov?

Would you choose Sanaa or Boma ? We are a party of 6 adults and love to try new things. Some of us have been to Jiko and loved it. One of our party does not like buffets but is willing to do whatever we decide. (We are NOT on a free dining plan)

Please help!:flower3: Thank you!

Arusha View would be the more desirable of the 2. Enough guests requested "Arusha" that Disney realized they could capitalize on it!! ;) If there's very little cost difference, I would be inclined to book Arusha View; but I'm sure a plain old Savanna View will be just fine! :cloud9:

Happy Independence Day, Jamborinis!

Back atcha, my friend! Hope you & Bob are doing well. We think of you often and miss you. JD & Tori say "Hey!" (the Southern "hi!" :rotfl:)

Have you checked the menus for each? With a party of 6 adults, I'd say Boma will have the better variety, but how much do some of the adults dislike buffets? :confused3 You can go to www.allearsnet.com, go to the dining section and pull up menus for each of the restaurants.

Here's Boma's: http://allears.net/menu/menu_bomadin.htm

And Sanaa's: http://allears.net/menu/menu_sanaad.htm

It also depends on how adventurous eaters everyone is. Boma is an African inspired menu where Sanaa is more Indian. Personally I would choose Sanaa as I love Indian food, but if I recall correctly Boma has a wide variety. The last time I saw the cost of Boma I was floored! Not that I don't enjoy a pricey meal, but I prefer quality over quantity. I'm sure Boma is great, but I would rather eat less and pay less.

Well you tell them I miss them! And, "Hey!" right back at them!

Forgive the silly question - the coffee maker in the DVC studio - can I use a normal 4 cup filter with regular coffee? Or does it take only pods? Thinking of gettingdoing a Garden Grocer order. Thanks!

Not a silly question at all. The DVC studios actually have the large coffee pots: 10-12 cup. You can use the 4-cup filters in them but it might be worth it to get the larger size filters -- even if you only brew 4 cups at a time! :thumbsup2

Here's the picture I posted recently of an AKV Studio kitchenette:

Arusha view will be of the Arusha Savanna which is my favorite.

Savanna view will probably be on one of the other 2 savannas.

Many thanks guys. Its an extra $33 so am thinking I might go for this view if it gets the majority of the animals.

I want to get it just right as we are only staying one light (layby for our DCL) and I am surprising my husband to be by surprising him with an upgrade here for one night (he thinks we are staying POFQ).

There are several of us DVCers here who will tell you - ATTA GIRL on getting BCV!!! :woohoo: Let's face it, the location really can't be beat! Enjoy!!! :cloud9: We know you'll get back to Kidani again soon! ;)

Thanks! Yes, we'll be back @ AKLV in Oct:goodvibes Staying at Jambo, but love Kidani's pool area & Sanaa!
Hi Jamborinis! Went camping for a few days and got way behind. I'm going to the New England Cars 2 Meet tomorrow. Have to say I'm a little nervous because I've never met anyone from the DIS before, and haven't really chatted on the boards with anyone who is going. Should be fun though - I need to get over my shy self!
