I know many have been in my shoes and can understand......today my oldest son Steve (23yrs old) left for his 1 yr tour in Afghanistan .....I have been through many deployments with his Dad over the yrs....but sending over my child is a whole different feeling......

Here's to all our military past and present....

I can't imagine how you feel~ I'm sure you are very proud and anxious at the same time. I send your son prayers and blessings for safety. We thank him for the job he does for all of us.

My son just came home from Afghanistan last month. He is in the local marine reserve unit- India Company, 3rd Battilon, 25th Marines. Good Luck and I am sure this year will past quite fast. I got the chance to correspond with my son alot through email. It is so great to have him home- we was only gone from September though, not a whole year

My brother retired from the Marines last year- 45 years in the corp. He sent my son's whole unit a care package and each one an ipod from xmas- that was awesome.
