?s about maintainence fees and resales

Hey all,
My DH and I are discussing buying a membership in 2005 (we're renting till then) and I have some questions I cant find the answers to:
Are the maintainence fees per point yearly? Not quite sure how that works.
And also:
If I buy a resale how many years do I get out of it? Is it dependant on how many years are left on the original contact? For example if I buy from someone who has owned the points for 20 years am I buying the remaining years they have left on their contract (20 or 30?) or does it start over for me as a new contract owner?--these question could make it or break it for my DH!

Dues are per point and vary by resort.

All current resort contracts end in Jan 2042 no matter how or when you acquired the contract.

SSR is the only one with a different ending date, 2054...not really very available through resale yet as the resort has not yet opened.
