Runny Egg Yolks

I still go crazy about this salad I had in Vegas at Craftsteak. Runny yolk made the dressing ... O M G it was delicious.

So, as you can tell, yes to the runny yolk. Love them! But whites have to be fully cooked. And I do not like runny scrambled eggs. Nope.

IMO, eggs need to be well done. Scrambled can be a bit floppy/fluffy, but never runny.
Scrambled and hard-boiled preferred, but I'll eat fried -- IF the yoke is opened and allowed to cook fully. My favorite breakfast place called that "spanked" 🍳
My mother used to eat poached eggs with toast, and she always dipped. She tried to force them on me, so for years, I refused to eat any eggs by themselves.

I love runny yolks. Delicious sopped up with nice buttery toast or on a burger or over hash.

My wife struggles to cook eggs with runny yolks. She prefers her eggs that way. She gets mad that I seem to have better luck. She is a low heat cooker and I cook at a much higher heat (for everything not just eggs). I baste eggs because I want the top of the yolk white, not yell, but the yolk itself runny. She has a hard time judging when to take them off the heat before they solidify.

I like fried, over medium, or scrambled, any way, really; also a good omelette.

I never heard of rare scrambled eggs either, lol.

I have a small 4-egg poaching pan (I think it’s called) that cooks eggs over boiling water. You put a little butter in each cup before putting the eggs in. I made some this week we put over buttered Italian toast, cooked just right with a soft yolk but not runny, a little salt and pepper, and they were so good!

I also have an industrial 12-egg poaching pan for Eggs Benedict for a crowd. I might have to pull that out soon now!

If you asked me 10 years ago I would have said no runny yolks. In fact preferably no yolks at all except in scrambled, but in the past few years I've discovered I like runny yolks and prefer my scrambled soft cooked. Still don't really like fully cooked yolks

I love runny eggs. Prefer sunny side up when I go out. I used to go to a place that did poached eggs with red vinegar on top of thinly sliced prosciutto and levain bread. I'd make sure that the runny yolk was spread on the bread.

I don't have them often, but I do like them for sure. Dipping toast in the yolk OMG, so good!

I usually only do egg whites but sometimes I allow myself to have the yolk. I like scrambled eggs best. When I do them I usually have 1 egg with one egg white.

No eggs for me unless they’re completely unrecognizable in something cooked. I don’t even want chunks of egg white in my potato salad. 🤢

I used to not like them as a kid, but then I became an adult and I had to pay for my own eggs. When you boil an egg, and you don't pay attention to the time, you can end up with a soft boiled egg. I had to decide: Throw a way an egg I myself paid for, or just get over it and eat it.

I eat it, and now I prefer a more runny yolk than hard boiled. Same when I bake or scramble an egg, it tastes better when it's not fully solid.

I will be making DW's Sunday egg breakfast in 4 hours. Today I use a McD's Egg McMuffin size pan with Oscar Myer Natural Uncured Bacon Bits warmed first to render the fat then carefully introduce an Organic Egg as to not break the yolk. At the same time I lightly toast a Thomas' Original English Muffin. Cook egg/bacon just right and flip gently to preserve yolk integrity, cook enough so with egg/bacon centered on the muffin then cut in half and the yolk will be slightly runny. Next Sunday will be Lightly Scrambled Egg with Bacon Bits.
