I am nervous about registration!! Hopefully I can get in next week with AP & then just focus on your registration the following week.

Mmmmm... Mexican food is my favorite! Not Epcot Mexican food- but Mexican food in general! :)

Mine too Nicole! Lots of drippy cheese and avocado! :jumping1:

The Disney races don't seem to be selling out as fast this year compared to previous years.. even the challenges... so hopefully we'll all be just fine. I'm a wee bit ticked because I have the AP but it's not activated yet (activating in 14 days) and they tell me I can't activate before to register for early W&D. Boo. :(

All you people with APs....:worship::worship::worship::worship:

I realized the same thing in terms of the AP. I will be activating mine on Saturday though so I should have 2 options for registration. I will just have to find the AP link for the runDisney stuff. I am hoping that this race follow suit with the others.

The NYC marathon is the same weekend as W&D so you are right, Tammie, that may help with registration.

I bet that Debra or Nicole can send you that link...super jealous. And I hope that our prediction is right that it will not sell out at record speed.

:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1 DIS seriously needs an eating icon other then this popcorn:: I am so nervous for you :eek::eek::eek: and so glad that you are willing to register me!:love:

Being a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish somewhat limits choices, but that battered shrimp and the corn ice cream have me intrigued.

I am getting nervous overall. Pre-registration is next week on Tuesday and there is all this talk on FB about how quickly those bibs go. My plan is to have DH and I both have the link (if I can find it) open on our phones and ready to go. Anyone who has done this in the past have any tips? If one of us can't get the registration I will try when it opens to the public, but I am also totally ok with doing a charity run.

This is my first time to register via AP, but from what I know there will be a link on the AP page when you sign in under special offers or something along those lines (I am not signed in, but it was easy to find).

Nicole, that DOES stink, BUT...you will have a shiny, new AP in 2 weeks!!

I know!!! It's my first ever... so I'm just a little excited. :yay: And we can't forget.........

All you people with APs....:worship::worship::worship::worship:

I living it up this year while I have it! :thumbsup2 Still thinking about getting Tables in Wonderland too.... so hopefully we can get some use out of it in November!

I wonder if these rumors of the challenge/10k are true.

If so, I'll do the 10K instead of the 5K. Mr. Dis_Yoda will do the Challenge.

So ... I've never had a churro in my life. I don't know why, I just haven't. Is that bad?

I'm a big fan of Mexican food ... or at least the Mexican food we have near us, which I don't think is very authentic. I am probably having some for dinner tonight, so.. I'm happy about that.
That sweet corn cheesecake does look pretty good!

Almost $500 earned for the trip ... that's awesome!!

Finally, I can say that I have had SOMETHING. Love the churros. They are the perfect size and oh so yummy. We ate at the Catina next to LaHacienda and that food was flavorful.

Tammie, our Disney E-pennies are growing!!!!

It’s 5 O’clock Friday
(Only 34 More Friday’s)
In Mexico

In order to pass the time away, instead of Cupcake Friday’s we are going to take a look at cocktails around the world…since we are partly fueled by cocktails. Maybe we can find them a little more readily then the cupcake disappointment we experienced on our PHM Cupcake Crawl!

Following in line with Whet your Appetite Wednesday, let’s begin to focus on F&W and our Eat & Drink Crawl around the World that we are planning for Sunday after the race (Rules and Logistics to come later).

First stop Mexico! Where every day is National Tequila day! I have to admit that I do love La Cava (aka the Ditch). And I have tried most of the margaritas that have taken my fancy at the time…

–Dos Equis Lager Beer with Floater
–Mexican sangria
–Tequila Flight
–Guava margarita

So bartender…

Pour me somethin' tall an' strong;
Make it a SOME OF IT ALL

It's only half-past twelve but I don't care.
It's five o'clock somewhere.

Tequila Flight...Go big or go home…or maybe go big and crawl back home. Shots were meant to share, right?

Margarita Sampler...I have found several pictures, but not on the menu…but wouldn’t it be grand to try several margaritas without over doing it on the first stop?

What are you having?

Looks like we have our answers Melissa...so what is your game plan?

I am pretty much a Mexican Food snob, so it is hard for me to eat at WDW...churros are good you need to try one if your diet allows! Although there are other Mexican desserts I prefer more.

Thank goodness that our pennies are growing since RunDisney grew their take of our money.

I'm going for the challenge. I personally love that its a morning race now - it works perfect for me! Run the half in the morning, relax in the room, eat a HUGE Lunch, take a nap, then go to the party from 8PM to 1AM!

Goodbye Money!

(I'm super glad I have all my posts here on the dis - this makes it easy to find what I'm having!)

It will really depend on my mood if I want sweet or savory.

I'll have to enjoy the Queso Blanco - Warm White Nacho Cheese w/ Pico de Gallo Sauce & Tortilla Chips as well to help sober me up!

You have probably heard that there are changes to the Wine & Dine 2016 Race Weekend.

http://www.rundisney.com/blog/

There is lots of grumbling and griping but for me the changes are good ones. The Run events are just the reason I use with my husband to get me to WDW, the real reason I go is to spend a few days with a bunch of ladies who mean the world to me. So here are my thoughts...

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the challenge added!!!!

1. Expo starting on Thursday-While we are not going to be there right when it opens it is not a real big deal to me since I am not really into all the merchandise anyway. All I really want is a wine glass. Thankfully this does not mess out our plans because we had already booked early arriving flights on Thursday.

2. 5K on Friday morning-So it is a day earlier, thankfully we are arriving on Thursday...no big deal just have to now limit the late night on Thursday night.

3. 10K on Saturday morning-YAY a challenge...I am going to do my first RunDisney challenge. Only thing this effects is how late I stay out on Friday night. Not a big Deal.

4. Half on Sunday morning-I am disappointed that this will not be a night race but with Osborne lights gone...not a biggie to me. I really don't care either way, just hope the course is a good one with all the construction going on.

5. Race Party on Sunday night-I am pretty happy about this...as I am a proud member of back of the pack and would not get a lot of time at the party after the half if it was still a night race and the party was after the half for me. Again, this does not mess up our plans because we already planned to party the day away on Sunday in Epcot!

Personally the changes work for me...I hope those that are spending all of their time griping and complaining stay away on registration day. But RunDisney seems to never be effected with the griping when it comes to actual registration day...people hit the button even while they are complaining.

YAY...I figured you would change to the challenge with it being in the morning. I think Kafi is switching up too...as she hated night races. Goodbye money is right!

I, for one, am thrilled it's a morning race. I knew I would not enjoy the party after finishing the 1/2.
Now we can rest and enjoy the day before eating around the world.

Now I just wish I had an AP so I could attempt to register early.

So are you taking part in the challenge?

I'd love to run this weekend some day. Most likely when I'm old enough to drink though.

I am the 'me no likey camp' because I am NOT a morning runner- I need the day to hydrate. :drinking:

But, in reality- not a huge deal... I am glad I got to do the night race in 2013 - it was very different than Princess and I liked it better (because of the course, less people and it being night). I am kinda sad that this race will now be like Princess... BUT maybe it's a chance to redeem the very poor Princess race I had. So, like I said, not a big deal in the end. Roll with those changes, baby! Hahahaha!

I will not be doing the challenge. GSC was too much on me. I'd rather save my energy for just the 1/2. The good thing about the challenge is everyone will be going for it- leaving registering JUST for the 1/2 wide open for me! :thumbsup2

This announcement does affect our planned days- still not sure what we are doing.. but thinking Sat arrival now- Wed (vs Friday- Tuesday). We want more time AFTER the race to enjoy Disney without the stress of the race.

Also, I HEART the Cave. And Melissa, I HEART that blood margarita. That's what I had during Princess. And that is what I'll be having again in November!

5 O'clock Friday -- I love margaritas!! I have yet to try the Avocado margarita, so that has to be on my list.

My thoughts for race registration...originally when I heard the news a few days ago, I instantly said I wanted to do the 5k & challenge. Now I have had a few days to mull it all over, & with each passing day, I am leaning more to the 5K & 1/2. My thought process behind it, I have a marathon 2 weeks after W&D, & I am thinking with each day, that skipping the 10K, even though it's only 6 miles, might be a good option for me. AND, I would be saving over $100 in the process.
