Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Page two ... again .... NOOOOOOOOOO

Have we all given up hope? I hope not.

While my excitement is pretty flatlined, I am still drawn in by the floats and even if they just float out there lit up ... I would be happy.

I know I am not interested in a bunch of folks dancing and "telling a story" ... I want to be wowed. I hope they feel the same in this "build".

SO TO EXCITE ..........

maybe I do... a little

:(

I will have to wait few years to see it if it's not open by end of October

Hey all. Been a couple of weeks since Ive checked in. Really stressful week - sure wish I was going to Disney. My brother is in Baton Rouge and I couldn't get ahold of him for days. He is in a shelter and ok. But that period of unknown was tough. Anyway, please pray for the folks in Louisiana. Its going to take a long while to get things going

Dachsie, big 'ole hugs to you, your family and friends. Been sending lots of love to my home state, and checking in on folks. I understand the stress of waiting, we had about 5 or so days before we knew my dad and his parents were safe after Katrina. Red Cross really came through for them in the weeks right after the storm. I hope he's able to find a safe place to be for awhile during the rebuilding process. I know it can take time with the number of homes that need help. super big hugs to y'all for support, courage and peace in this difficult time.

So I posted this over in another thread about watching the atlantic storms, and thought it might bring a chuckle or two…. or maybe those guttural groans when someone does a really bad pun…

Earlier in the week I was watching Gaston and I couldn't stop the musical theatre of my mind… To the tune of "Gaston"
Iiiiiiit's a storm called Gaston, Atl'ntic shores should be warned…
if the winds keep on building there'll be tourists alarmed!
Orlando's not usually worried, they're central with land mass to spare.
But weather news crews get more ratings... with headlines that read "Cataclysm, BEWAAAAARE!!"
iiiiiiit's a storm called Gaston, let's toast with a Saison
and throw a great shindig with party hats on!
As a hurricane he's not yet matriiiiiicuuuulated,
so he's a tropical staaaaahm, Gastaaahhn!

(EDIT BEAUTIFUL PICTURES)

Those were some beautiful pictures. It made me realize even if they don't do those shows, I'd like to just see those floats.

In fact, I'd love to have them miniaturized into a night light. They'd be beautiful night lights…. or "tiffany" lamps….

Hmmmm, interesting. I notice it only says that the buses will run *from* the parks to DS. I guess that's how they'll cut down on people taking advantage of free parking at DS and busing to a park. They could still park at DS, but it would then involve getting to a resort before being able to get to a park. I do like having the option of going to DS directly from a park, though.

They did this during one of my trips from AK. AK was closing around 6 those days so the bus started running TO Downtown Disney ONLY after 3 pm There was no return trip to the park. For guests without hopping if the park you are at closes early or has no night offerings (ROL, MSEP etc) many of those guests using buses usually just went back to their hotel, swim etc. I know for myself, even with an AP, I would bus to my hotel then get in my car and head off property to eat or go outlet mall etc. This is great news to me, who wants to eat (and maybe have a couple drinks) at Disney Springs but want it easy to get there without me driving. It keeps the cash rolling in the evenings.

The loss of valuable time in the morning not only from taking a bus to a resort then transferring but also the buses don't start rolling until 10 am negates any perceived value of saving $20 by trying to park at DS. My time and park time is worth way more than that.

That's exactly what I was thinking -- too much time and effort involved for most people to do it. Though there will always be a few who want to "work the system" and will still do it -- especially if they don't care about getting to the parks early in the morning. So be it.

That was freakin' awesome! :worship:

And I just saw he became a hurricane….. so if I may…. to "Kill the Beast"

I just heard on the news that his winds could cause a bruise. Look the status is upgraded for Gastaaaawn!
Lovely Kate and her model will have his head on longer travel. It's amusing; such expressions 'cross the sea…...!
Hermine! Gaston would like to pest her…. but likely that it's Lester we will seeeee….
Hurricanes on both coasts. Lots of wiiiind, not a hoax. Though in the Parks he'd likely booooooast, ('Course he'd boast!)
It's Gaston!

I do wish I had spent more time at DS this last trip, but since my friend had never been to WDW, we stayed to the parks. We did go there for a few hours the day we arrived tho. I also discovered, I liked being on property better than off property, but sometimes the cost will keep me off property. I just wish I could go back sooner rather than later...

Sorry I haven't been around much. The first month of school is always so hectic. I have days where I don't even get on the DIS which was never heard of during summer break. Good thing I have until June for our trip. As things settle down at work and my trip gets closer, I'm sure I'll be on more. As of now, I'm wondering about a lot of things for June (ROL, MK nighttime parade, Avatarland) but its just way too early to know.

I can't believe there is no new tidbits about ROL... I can't help myself hoping it will debut soon after Jungle is over :(
