Called dining this morning to see if RoL packages available yet and was told to keep checking the park blog for release info

I just find it difficult to believe with Disney's history of MDE site failure for every rollout they've had that they would only open the reservations at the announced time

Thanks for the well wishes all! For some reason a Live Chat on ROL did not feel like an appropriate reason to cancel surgery (although I did consider it), but still a major bummer! Hoping there will be some good news by the time I get to a computer

I think everything will be released after the online chat today, but I really hope they've had the foresight to realize how popular all this is. I can just imagine them announcing "and you can book these packages...NOW!" and both the phone lines and the website crashing. I wonder if they scheduled this chat in the middle of the day during the week with the hope that not everyone will be available to listen, and maybe there won't be such a push to book right away.

Sigh, I agree with you. I get that they want things to be popular, and they want to make an impact with exciting announcements, but I don't think they think any further ahead than that.

Yes, that was announced by Disney a couple weeks ago
What everyone is watching for are dining packages to view it

Since it was announced as starting on April 22nd, I wonder why Disney hasn't changed the park hours, which still show as 6:30 PM and it's only 45 days away? It will be daylight savings time and it won't get dark until well after 8:00 pm.

I doubt they would admit anything of the sort...we would all just lose our minds seeing that stupid Stitch or Donald page, and for them it would be business as usual. Thoroughly tested applications and websites seem to be a thing of the past, sorry to say.

Wouldn't it be worse if they set a specific date for it in the future? If they announce during the chat that you can book immediately, only those following the chat will know to do so.

I have to leave to pick up the kids about an hour after the live chat, so anticipating Stitch mocking me and my efforts and then needing to leave before getting it done. I know that has happened to me in the past but can't remember what I was trying to get...

I honestly don't know. However they announce you can book the preview events and the dinner packages, the system is going to be mobbed.

I've had luck booking new events both when we get a heads up here and it's announced later, AND when it's just announced via DPB or Twitter. For really limited events, the former would obviously be preferable for us!! Crossing my fingers, I guess...
