Rumored deals???

Someone asked if you were only staying six nights at a deluxe , if you paid for the first four nights, could you still get two nights free? I'm also looking for an answer to this as well :)

Yes. The way the deal has worked in the past is that if you pay for 4 nights at rack rate then you get UP TO 3 more nights for free.

Anyone know the answer to the question regarding which days they pick for your 4 at rack rate. For example, if I'm arriving on a Sunday, would my first four days (lower rate) be the 4 they charge me and then the following 3, which 2 happen to be the weekend rates and therefore higher are free, or would they take an average?

(I think I saw it asked here, but don't know if I saw the answer).

Thanks.

i see alot of people hoping for a deal so that they can upgrade to a mod or dlx. i just want a deal so that a weeks stay in disney doesnt cost me an arm and a leg! we went during peak season this year and paid about $1400 less than what i just booked for Feb 2010! We did the same length of stay, same tix, same dining plan, same hotel but got the 4/3 deal with the $200 gift card. I understand that prices go up each year, but $1400????? i think it stinks if they dont offer the same deal at the value as they do at the others. i am at my hotel so little that upgrading doesnt benefit me at all. if they want to book up the hotels, offer great deals at them ALL.....at this point, i am keeping my fingers crossed for free dining. it would save me ALOT more than a 5/2 "deal".......

I am with you 100%. Even if there is a $200 gift card, the 4/3 is not a better deal than free dining for my family of four. Not even close. Cracks me up that so many people want the savings - then they all upgrade and end up spending even more!

The 4/3 offer is a great deal for our family. Last year we saved $2,200 which is more than we would for free diing. We stayed in the same accomadation that we would have without the deal.

I realise that not every deal is right for every family. If I get a deal great if not I am going anyway.

Some of us aren't a family of four. And for some of us free dining isn't a better deal. Believe it or not, some of us would actually like to be able to stay at a deluxe resort at a price we can afford.

So laugh it up.

Totally disagree with you - respectfully ;)

For our family, the dining plan is a terrible deal. There is way too much food on there - more than we could ever eat. And we don't eat like birds either.

To us it makes no sense to get a discount on meals that we would end up skipping. And I don't want to be force feeding myself on vacation just so I could feel like we ate our money's worth.

We would rather take the discount on the resort and pay out of pocket for only the food we can reasonably eat.

We are on a super budget, and I totally agree. For us, I will take the room/ticket discount, and save more money that way. We will not do the DDP without free dining. I can pack snacks, eat breakfast in our room, and split meals. Our kids are not used to getting kid's meals everywhere we go - they normally split our food. Plus, I have a VERY picky son. I will still do a character meal or two, but for us - I hope that the 4/3 is true!!

It is certainly up to the individual case. For my family, the 4 of us are on adult dining plan so the free dining would save money. However, if you did not have that many adults on dining it would be a better deal for the 4/3 deal. Since we usually travel in June, any deal is a welcome one. However, I will probably upgrade to a mod if the deal is not 4/3 for the values.

Gee, is it normal for people to get so cranky about all this? This is a discussion board and people have different opinions. It seems wrong to be mean spirited and to get snappy with other people.:confused3 Telling other people to "laugh it up" seems contrary to the whole spirit of Disney.

My oldest just turned 10 - so he will be on the adult plan. Thank goodness he does eat as much as my husband (and more than me!). Makes the extra price easier to take. Plus, he did have trouble finding food on the kid's menu - the same dishes seem to be on a lot of the menus. More than once this past trip, I traded meals with him.

Yeah, but we get more for the money we spend! :rotfl: For us, it is a case of having a fairly fixed vacation budget. When we start planning we set an amount that we are willing to spend on our package, and that amount is pretty much set in stone - we won't go over by more than a few dollars. So when a code comes out, we're not comparing the price of one resort to another and trying to get the lowest bottom-line price tag; we're comparing the prices of the resorts we like to the amount we budgeted. At rack rate the budget for this trip would mean a moderate resort with a little money leftover, but a good discount means we can bump up to a deluxe.

I totally understand what you are saying, but for some families, the lowest bottom line is what is most important. For my family, saving by staying at a cheaper resort means more days at the parks and extra perks like La Nouba, Disney Quest, and more "take home goodies" for my kids. It is two totally different ways of planning and budgeting. You feel like you are getting more for your money, but so do I. I don't care if we are staying at the AKL or the POP, we just love being there. No matter what criteria a person uses to plan or budget their trip, I think that we can all agree that each knows what is best for their families and all that matters is having a good vacation. To each his own.... :thumbsup2

I don't find it strict at all! All that matters is that it works for you and it gets you there! Hope you guys have a blast and hope you have a great birthday!

I looked for a link or more info about the 4/3 details offered the last time. I am particularly looking for date info. I realize that it will not be the same , just want to get an idea. Thanks

I totally agree with you, especially when it is only a rumor we are talking about that may or may not come true.

I think different discounts work better for different people. But I am curious, how you can possibly save $2200 on 4/3, unless maybe you go for 2 weeks. At 3 days free, that would mean you are spending $733/day! :scared1:
