Rumor - Starring Rolls closing soon?

I will be sad if this is true. I love the cupcakes and treats at Starring Rolls. I wonder if they will be available somewhere else.

This is very sad as Starring Rolls is one of the few decent places in all the Studios to get something to eat.

I am really disappointed if this is true. I already had a really hard time finding good QS and snacks at HS. Starring Rolls was really the only place I liked. I sure hope that Butterfinger cupcake will be available somewhere else!

I believe I have heard their popular cupcakes are available at Trolley Car Cafe. We had planned on eating lunch here on our upcoming trip, so I hope this is just a rumor. Somebody please post and let us know!

Yeh, I think that is the original article quoted by the OP. @rteetz is reporting on the Rumor thread that it is only a rumor at this point and that Disney Dining is the only site reporting it.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happens. Do I want it to happen? Absolutely no. I love visiting on mornings and getting a quick bite to eat before enjoying my day at the park.

There are no hours on the Disney website after tomorrow.

While a hidden treasure, it is valuable real estate to waste on a part time location. They could do something else there that would have a better return. Maybe even expand the outdoor "lounge" at HBD.

Odd that this is so short notice. Usually Disney gives a heads-up on closing dates, like they did with Writer's Stop.

I would think Starring Roles is more popular that Writer's Stop was and the closing would have been announced further in advance.

Well, I did notice that because people hit Trolley Car first when heading over toward Tot, it allowed Starring Rolls to be far less crowded than it used to be. Maybe that was "by design", and now that the crowds are swinging into Trolley Car/Starbucks, they feel they can close Starring Rolls. I guess I will be happy that I got a Butterfingers cupcake while we were just there. It was tasty, but frozen solid! There are lots of treats at the Sweet Spells area of the main store on that boulevard, too, so maybe some of the cupcakes will end up there. That is where they moved the Carrot Cake Cookie to.

I read this somewhere else too and they said they surmised because the Trolley Car was taking away some of their business.

Hmm, last two times we ate there in Oct. and Dec. we were stalking a table at Starring Rolls. It was always crowded.

It was our favorite place for counter service in the Studios and we will really miss it too.

I haven't been there for a couple of years, before Trolly Car/Starbucks so I didn't realize that was taking away some of the business. Still, I think the immediate announcement is unusual.

We had breakfast there on our last trip, and had the entire seating area to ourselves for a good long time. There was a mama duck and her babies camped out under a table. DD, then 5, had a great time watching them interact. It was such a nice little spot.
