Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

If it was World that would make more sense. But Disneyland has around 2500 rooms total on site. Wouldn’t think they would need to limit on site guests. Also I don’t think they can count on reservations they have. Some are probably just waiting to be cancelled by Disney with no intention of keeping there reservation.
I was about half serious, but a vast majority DLR guests are local and off site if they travel to DLR. No way they limit their parks to just on site. They’d have to limit resort guest numbers. They can’t afford to tick off locals.

I was not suggesting they would limit the parks to on site only. But I don’t think they will limit on site guests either.

In case anyone is not participating in the cancellation thread Disney looks to be cancelling May reservations that extend partially into June.

No word yet on what would happen if guests just requested May portion be dropped or the entire trip moved a few days later.

So some baseless speculation (everyone’s favourite I know), do we think it’s possible back when the free dining deal came out June 1st was not based on Disney betting on COVID and it being relatively safe to visit the parks, but based on their own ability to mitigate risk on property regardless of what the COVID situation looked like?

Well officially they haven't picked a date. I think the April 1 date was listed first so as not to panic the locals and APs into scheduling a last minute trip - 2 weeks is a lot better to take than 2 months. As for the June 1 date for booking, at the time not enough was known but, with a wary eye on the Shanghai changes being looked at, they probably just drew a line in the sand at June 1. Easy to erase a line in the sand. Some folks had bookings being cancelled today that started on May 31 for a week or so into June. I was hoping one of them who called would have asked to just drop the first day and see if that was OK - but so far as I know no one has tried that yet.

I too am very curious if that works-
We have our trip planned for June 4-9th

A contract means very little during a state of emergency. Look at what the government did to your religious rights during all of this. You don't think Disney isn't having a legal team look at a way to not honor all those points.
The contract still applies during a state of emergency, so it does mean something. DVC isn’t a religion, we don’t worship the mouse so I’m not sure what that tangent is about.
The point is that all the DVC resorts will have to open at once as soon as Disney starts reopening hotels.
