I know that for smoking there are designated areas but I was curious about the rules for electronic cigarettes? I've quit smoking for three months and have been using my E-cig and since it's water vapor and doesn't have the odor do I still need to reside in the designated smoking areas to use it? Even though it's not a real cigarette I still want to be respectful of others.

Yes you will still need to be in a designated smoking area. Disney's policy is an e-cigerette is still smoking and therefore belongs in the smoking section.

One of the major reason is gor the brief period e-cigerettes weren't being policed there was a drastic up tick of real cigerettes out sode of smoking areas.

Not to encourage rule breaking but a lot of people will sneak a few puffs in the bathrooms.

Thanks for the response! I will make sure I stay within the designated areas. The only thing that sucks is I will have to breath in the cigarette smoke while I'm puffing on my delicious strawberry banana lol :) I don't really use it much anyways and I'll probably be so pre occupied I won't need it but I keep it handy just in case I get the craving.

I just wish people would smoke in the designated areas and CMs would enforce it, fed up with people smoking where they like and CMs doing nothing.

When I was a cm I was always on guard for people smoking out side the smoking areas. This was largely due to the fact the Agent P carts sit where the old smoking sections use to be.

One major issue is the way cms are treated by people they ask to move. I've been spit towards, called unpatriotic because I asked someone who was an Iraq war veteran to move, I've been called all sorts of nasty names, had my job threatened, and even once had physical violence threatened at me for simply asking someone to put out their cigerettes and move to the designated smoking area.

Some CMs have delt with it so much they are now scared to say anything.

An e cigarette is no more smoking than having a coke is like drinking a rum and coke. They look the same, they're not the same.
No one who is valiantly trying to quit smoking has to stand in 2nd hand smoke.
I wouldn't smoke one in the parks while surrounded by kids, but at the resort go ahead. E cigarettes are electronic life saving devices.
Good for you, carry on:thumbsup2

They asked what Disney's policy is and their policy is that e-cigarettes are to be treated like regular cigarettes. People claim they aren't dangerous but there have been no real studies done on the vapors. Disney isn't the only place that treats e-cigarettes like regular cigarettes.

Also your analogy is a little off. An e-cigarette is still not great for you. You can overdose on nicotine if you aren't careful and are still inhaling a drug. No one is 100% positive nicotine isn't leached into the vapors that you exhale and are caused by the devices.

Another option is just not to use it at all.

I agree. I see people all of the time at WDW using e-cigarettes. They need to respect private property rights.
