yep that should be plenty big. Just iron it underneath the seat.

Let me see if I can show you where the rips have been....

it's the spot that is circled. It's where all three of the materials meet. You can iron the patch underneath and from what she said, it will reinforce that spot.

Have patch, steering wheel cover and dark/royal blue duct tape...will travel...tomorrow!!! Now, just to load up the van!!! Hey, at least I figured out that the 3rd seat can be removed and then the 2nd seat removed and then the 3rd seat be put back in where the 2nd seat was, giving my 2 kiddos at least a little more elbow room!!! See...I can get creative...even with a big 'ole van. Don't worry...I read the owner's manual to make sure it was legal and safe!!!:lmao:

I'll post again after we are there and checked in and have the strollers...probably not until late on the 6th or sometime on the 7th...Gosh...I might have withdrawals!!! Maybe I'll have to check the boards while in Atlanta!!!:rotfl2: Okay...who am I kidding...I know I will!!!:rotfl:

I was just going through the calendars and I might be able to close down another swap end of September. I have just one more person to find room for and it's a done deal.

Wouldn't that be awesome?!?!?!

Thank you so much for posting this! I have the replacement seat for #2 and could not figure out where in the world I needed to put the patch! :confused3

This should help me out so much! I bought an extra patch. I am going to take it down with us to Disney and put it in with the accessories. That way the other swappers will have it if this patch starts to wear off.

I'm going to get the tape for the bar tomorrow....the tape used to repair tennis racket handles. I am hoping that will do the trick! :thumbsup2

Maddi....what do you want me to do with the damaged seat for #2 once we get it removed from the stroller? Do I need to send it to you? Just let me know and I will be happy to do whatever needs to be done.

Hi everyone! Just got back from my 27 hour drive home from DisneyWorld. Had lots of fun! I happened to take pics of strollers #1 and #2.

Stroller #2 is on the left. Stroller #1 is on the right. You can't really see the tears on here but just wanted to show the whole strollers. I didnt even have an issue without having the foam on stroller #1. It was not cumbersome or anything. Not a big deal.

Here are the pictures of the tears for a better view.

I am so glad Maddi was able to take care of getting new seats but sorry that I had to call CannonBoy to deliver the bad news about the torn stroller #1especially since I was switched to that swap last minute because #2 had torn.

27 hours!!!! That's how long it takes us to drive.
Thanks for the pictures. I am glad that the strollers worked well for you.
Hopefully after you have caught up on sleep, laundry, mail......you can let us know how the trip went:thumbsup2

THANK YOU for the update. It's sad to see the condition of the seats but you are so right, we have new ones-so all is good.

Just looking at the strollers, overall, I am really impressed! These two will be a year old the end of this month. Imagine 365 days of non-stop use, imagine how many tiny tushes have used these strollers, how many hours they have spent in the parks...wow, I think over all they really look good!

Question, neither of the strollers show a front bar...so both are missing? What accessories, if any, are there with each stroller? One last question, how does the tires look? Sorry for so many questions just trying to see how everything is going with them.

Looking forward to a mini trip report...my trip seems so far away, I need to live through the swappers trips!

We are leaving in about an hour heading to Disney.

I still need a claim ticket # from mickeymom24. I will not have access to a computer while I am at Disney. However, I will have my cell phone with me.

Maddi, I am going to PM you my phone number. Could you please call me with the claim ticket # if she happens to post on here.

I picked up the tape for the handle bar. I also put 2 patches on the seat in the area that seems to be ripping so badly. Hopefully this will hold it.

Off to our magical experience.....:wizard:

OK....are you guys ready for this?????

Sadly, we had a swapper drop out due to the economy....which I really hate hearing ANYONE has to cancel their vacation.

But with this drop out, we will be able to close down another swap in September. Soooooooo, please check the calendar as I am going to start moving ppl around right now.

ISN'T THAT AWESOME???

Maddi, so sorry to hear that someone had to drop out, but i am very glad to hear we could have a swap shut down in september. not bad at all!!!

I have to say, those strollers do not look like they have had a year of disney use!!! they look fabulous!!!

But, anywho...packing you know! I thought you might enjoy some of my other crazy antics...here is a link to my creative DISign thread with all my "projects" I did for our trip!!! And, Yes...before you ask...I have lost my mind!!!:lmao: What is funnier, DH was the one who wanted to take all the pics!!!:rotfl2:

Those are incredible shirts... I've been wanting to make some, but I'm so totally un-creative, that I'm sure I'd mess it up.

have fun!

When it comes to shirts...lisa-upnorth from the tinkerbelle swap was a first timer and she started a thread on how a newbie can do the shirts. She did an awesome job and her instructions are super easy to follow. It's over on the DISign thread.

Hi Maddi,

I just had a look at the calendar for all the strollers and saw that you need a sitter for RC1 for the first week in November.

I can volunteer for the time we are there (Oct 30-Nov 7) if you want to pencil me in. We have a suite at SOG, so I'm sure there will be room. You'll just have to tell me what to do with the strollers when we leave.

:grouphug: to everyone who is keeping this swap alive. I'm not crafty, but DH is a master repairer, so if we need to fix anything while we're down there, I'm sure he'll be able to manage it. Now, how do I tell him he needs to bring a toolbox? :rotfl2:

Ok...here is my plan while at WDW.

Immediately upon arriving we will be picking up #3 and #4 and giving them the once over that night. Tweaking everything, oiling what needs oiled, tagging everything with my name and info plus fixing whatever needs fixed.

During the week, Strollers #1, #2, and #5 have a down day here or there so I'm going to have everyone drop them off at POP and we will give those strollers a once over also. Plus switching strollers where we need too. If #3 is in better shape than #5, then #3 will be swtiched with #5 and I will be bring #5 home. This way, the best 3 of the 5 strollers will be left at WDW and the other two will be returning to Ohio.

We planned down time during our vacation just to go over the strollers and get them up to par so they will make it to the end of the swaps.

So when you see my name after you, you will be bringing the stroller to POP. To save myself a lil time, at this point I'm thinking about all the incoming swappers either A) meet me at one of the Parks or B) picking up their stroller at POP. I can just see me spending a day fixing the strollers and then running from resort to park to resort then back to a park and back to POP to pick up the next stroller and do the same thing. With delivering 3 strollers...OMG...I will be on the bus all day and night.

So here is the Plan...
Swap #1...goff1029...September 18th...bring the stroller to POP's Luggage services and I will get up fancied up and hand it over to 1luckymonkey at POP---FACE TO FACE SWAP--WAHOOO

Swap #2... renae0118...Sept.19th...I'll meet you at POP(ANOTHER FACE TO FACE WAHOOOO) and get the stroller ready for ready to relax who is arriving on 9/22...ready to relax, we will be at Blizzard beach during the day and MNSSHP that night. So I might be able to meet you really early on the 22nd or you can pick it up at POP anytime during that day.

Swap #3...tinkerbelle21...Sept. 17...I'll meet you at POP...wahoooo another face to face swap!

Swap #4....goff1029...Sept. 18..a double swap off for us, I see! :)

Swap #5...Jazzi2259...Sept 19th...another face to face! I'll meet you at POP to get the stroller and get it ready for Ifwhipp.. Ifwhipp, as soon as you get in, I can either meet you (yep another face to face) or you can pick it up in Luggage services.

So right now, it looks as though all of the swappers with the exception READY TO RELAX on the 22nd will be staying at POP.

This is my agenda for those coming in...
17th...MK all day with Dinner ressies at 6pm then spectro and wishes.
18th...Epcot all day with Dinner ressies at 4pm
19th...Going to the Ocean with dinner ressies at 5:30pm and photoshoot.
22nd...Blizzard Beach, MNSSHP and dinner ressies at 6:00pm.

OK, I think I have everyone covered plus everyone will arrive and recieve a updated stroller (HOPEFULLY-WE STIL HAVE ALOT OF OPEN DATES AND NEED STROLLER SITTERS!--PLEASE IF YOU CAN STROLLER SIT, LET ME KNOW :) )

:worship::worship: THANK YOU FOR STROLLER SITTING!!!

When the time gets a little closer, just proceed as a normal swap, contacting the swappers before and after you. :)

Thanks again!!

Swap #5...Jazzi2259...Sept 19th...another face to face! I'll meet you at POP to get the stroller and get it ready for Ifwhipp.. Ifwhipp, as soon as you get in, I can either meet you (yep another face to face) or you can pick it up in Luggage services.

i should get in about 4pm and would LOVE to do a face to face!!! yipee!!!!:banana: we can swap numbers and such whenever you are ready!!:banana:

Ok, I'm back!! AND I have more sad news to report. The front bar on #5 is missing. After our experience, I am CONVINCED that luggage services is the problem with these strollers. When the stroller folds, the back boards are sticking STRAIGHT up. If they laid it down and put other things on top, I could see the backboards getting broken really easily. One of the broken backboards on #5 is even broken at an angle, so it couldn't be people tightening the straps too much. It has to be LOTS of pressure on the top of the backboard. Oh, and there are some screws missing, but my husband told me this AFTER we dropped it off, so I couldn't take any pictures. He said they looked like a #10 or #12 pan head should fit. (Don't ask me what that means, but he said it describes the type of screw!) He did tighten up the screws that were there and a little loose.

The front bar for #5 has to be in luggage services somewhere. I couldn't go looking for it because I told a little white lie. When I dropped the stroller off, they asked me if it was my stroller. I just blurted out, "Yes." Then I told them that my cousin was checking in on the 6th and would pick it up. We're all cousins here, right???

What an ordeal we had picking up this stroller! For some reason, the swapper before me left it at Pop Century even though there was only 4 days between our dates. So, we got to CSR and our room wasn't ready. It was about 3:00 and we had 5:00 reservations at Chef Mickey's. I figured we'd pick up the stroller and then head to Chef Mickey's. Well, we got on a Downtown Disney bus and it took FOREVER to get there. I decided we wouldn't have time to pick it up AND get back to our room (where the camera and autograph books were). So, we just boarded another bus go back to CSR. About 1 hour wasted. Then we got our room and headed to Chef Mickey's. Of course I left the luggage claim number in the hotel room (STUPID me!) and we had to go back to CSR. I then proceeded to unpack and sent my husband to get the stroller.

Two hours later he comes back to the room. He walks in and I look at him and tell him, "That's not the right stroller." The look on his face was priceless!! It was an Evenflo "MyStep" double stroller, front to back. I then told him it was an Instep Safari Double, side by side jogging stroller. "That would have been good information to have!", was his reply. I had told him a blue, Instep double stroller, I thought that plus the luggage tag would have been enough info! His next thought was, "Well I didn't think luggage services would give me someone ELSE's stroller." Yeah, me neither, this one didn't even have the tag on it. Clearly, they aren't that detail oriented there.

So, off he goes to get the right stroller. Here's where serendipity comes in. While he was waiting at one of the bus stops, he was talking to a woman who was checking out of CSR the next day, had bought one of the umbrella strollers they sell in the park and wanted to see someone get some use out of it. So, she gave us her room number and left the stroller and some pool toys outside her door for us!!! THAT was the stroller we used all week. My older one did fine walking. Even if he did get a bit cranky.

So, he gets to Pop Century (and I had called them to give them a heads up to start looking). They find the right stroller WITH the luggage tag attached and he heads back to CSR. Over the course of the trip he realized just how HUGE the InStep stroller was. It just would have been miserable to deal with on the buses with how crowded everything was. So, that's why we used the single all week.

So that's my long, involved story. Just wait for the trip report!! I took notes on the first half of the vacation in order to be able to write the trip report!! It was hot and crowded, but we never waited more than 30 minutes for anything. We didn't get to see/do everything, but we're happy with what we were able to do. My feet hurt and I'm tired, but it was a great vacation!

Thanks everyone!
