Parking for the Cake Bake Shop

Hello. I would love to take my adult daughter to Cake Bake Shop for dinner when we visit in December. I just realized that I have no idea where one would park to dine there! We stay off-site and I use a wheelchair now, so Disney transportation is not always the fun it used to be when I could walk all day. We love dining at Disney Resorts and appreciate their parking policy, but since this restaurant is not technically in a resort, I am at a loss as to where we would be allowed to park. Thanks in advance for any help!

I believe it's considered to be at Boardwalk. You'll likely be directed to their satellite lot unless you use valet.

We ate at CBS during our Christmas trip and although we were staying at BW and could walk to the eatery, one of our relatives was not and drove into the BW parking lot. A bit of confusion since the ADR was in my name but one phone call and it was straightened out.

Just to add to the great comments above, as long as you have an ADR for CBS via Disney or OpenTable you will be allowed park.

Please note that during very busy times of the year they strictly enforce the ability go more than 2 hours before you dining reservation, and your ability to park at the BW.

Do you have a handicap parking placard? If so, you should be able to use valet parking at the BW without charge (except for gratuity).

This is correct. An ADR for CBS will get you past the guard, then you can drive to the BW porte cochere and drop the car with the valet. Enter the BW, turn right at the model carousel, and there’s an elevator down to BW level a short distance down the hall. Or turn left and wheel through the lobby to the BWV elevators that will take you down to BW level as well - but that’s an unnecessary distance in the wrong direction.

Here’s a map. It’s a little out of date but not for your destination. You’ll drop off the car at A, turn right to the elevators next to the red AED symbol, then go to the CBS which is E.

My sister and I decided to wing it one morning and try for a walk-in breakfast at Cake Bake (they never seem too busy at breakfast). We told the Boardwalk security gate guard what we were doing and he waved us through, no probIem. I wouldn't count on it but you could get lucky.

Thank you all for your prompt and helpful replies! I do have a handicap parking placard and will definitely take advantage of the valet parking. I am a whole lot to push around and every step I can save my DD is a blessing. We also believe in making ADRs for any place we really want to eat. Our mother-daughter trips are very different from our big family trips, when we are far more budget and time conscious. DD and I slow down to a crawl, and it’s all about savouring the atmosphere, some nice dining, and a lot of small moments that can be as enchanting as that first glimpse of Cinderella’s Castle. We both love sparkle and it sounds like CBS will be worth a visit - now that I know where to park!

I wish! Unfortunately, we cannot manage getting an ECV in and out of a vehicle. DD will push all day, and I do my best to not wear her out. That includes reserving 2-3 hours of relaxing time by our resort pool on the days weather permits. We only have one park visit scheduled (so far!) and I will absolutely rent an ECV in the park.

Yes, we have a full kitchen in our little rental, but don’t plan on stocking much beyond water, some fruit and yogurt. The only thing we like making on these vacations are reservations!

We fly down from Nova Scotia and rent a standard SUV. It fits everything, with enough room if another family member or two decides to come along at the last minute. Staying at Windsor Hills Resort, love sliding through Sherbeth Dr and being on Disney property in minutes. quick & easy for those mid-day breaks, plus we like our privacy and space (ahem, a bathroom for each bedroom).

It sounds like you've been to Disney before and know what you're doing. Otherwise, I would want to make sure you know that it's going to be a bit of a hike. You're going into the Boardwalk Inn/Villas building, down to the BoardWalk level, out of the building, and then down the boardwalk. Someone new to Disney might think that the Cake Bake Shop is right in the Boardwalk Inn/Villas building near the entrance, when actually it's out on the BoardWalk and it's the last building before you get to Epcot. On a cloudy winter day that walk might be a piece of cake; on a sunny summer day it might feel like a trek.

Thanks for pointing out the trek. We will be there in early December and like dinner in different resorts, so sun won’t be a problem. If we are fortunate enough to have warm sunshine, DD will be found poolside. I catch a nap, do laundry, etc. The Christmas decorations and lights are a big part of our enjoyment so we are all about evening outings.

When I first started going to WDW at 40, I was one of THOSE people who opened and closed every park. I was so lucky that my energy level stayed high through my grandchildren’s young visits. Even luckier to have had vacations with them into their 20’s! I no longer lead the pack, or even try to keep up, but we meet up for specific attractions and every meal. When it is just DD and I travelling, we smell a lot of roses. We leave plenty of time to make our ADRs, and appreciate never rushing anywhere. We love Disney Springs evening entertainment, and early morning calm. Last year, we watched a very young squirrel sleeping in a tree for a good 40 minutes while we savoured our Joffreys coffee. Life is good.

I suggest renting a portable ECV. Pride Mobility Go Go is popular.

Great choice of a portable ECV though my personal favorite is the 3 wheeler.

Just to point out OP does plan to rent a park scooter; won’t help for navigating from parking lot to CBS but relief can be found at the IG .

I agree about 3 wheeler; I didn't realize there was a separate video for the 3 wheeler.

The OP is planning on renting a scooter in the parks BUT you have to get to the rental location, hope they didn't sell out and hope the scooter lasts the day
