ok...first....as to the remark your DH said....:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I could soooo see my DH saying the same thing!! It sounds like you had a fantastic trip. I'm really looking forward to the trip report!!

Now, on to the stroller.

Where are the screws missing? That is our newest stroller...less than 5 months old....so I'm going to have to see what we can do to get it fixed up to tied us over until I can get there.

On the seats...how bad are they? I know we need new ones but is the stroller usable enough until we can get the seat? Are they patchable (I know we talked about sliding the seat out, fixing the backboards, putting them back in the seats and stitching it closed. If that something do-able?

What accessories are still with the stroller?

I'm sorry the swapper before you didn't follow through as arranged. And it's nice to know that is luggage services...now to figure out how to address the issue so it doesn't continue until the end of the swap.

As soon as I hear back on the above...I'll PM everyone in the swap with the update. Thank you for reporting on #5's condition!! Any insight (since you have seen everything first hand) on what needs to be done to keep the stroller going until September? I can use all the feed back I can get on the strollers.

THANKS!

Hi, my turn is coming up fast, so I was just checking on stroller #5. I don't know if I was mis-informed or what, but i called instep and was told that the seat is not replaceable for that model #, something about a rivet on the back. Has this seat been replaced before? Also, I was wondering if a bungee cord somehow strapped behind the seats could be a temporary fix? We leave in 2 weeks so let me know what I can do to help with #5 and I will try my best. Thanks! Dena

Hi All!

Dena...When I called about the seat for #5 they told me it was on backorder. I have the stroller before you and I have duct tape with me. I will let you know if I am able to make any "fixes" to the backboards. I will also try and get to Wal-Mart or Home Depot while here in Atlanta before we go to Orlando and pick up some 10 or 12 head screws and replace any missing ones we see. I'll post when I can after we arrive on the updated conditions of the strollers mrsdennison and I have together.

Thanks!
Sunny Ray

Yeah...he's a funny funny guy! Just wait...the tentative title for one of the days for the trip report is "I just Dutch Oven'ed myself!"

I'll post again when my hubby gets back from the store. But, I believe they were on the left hand side of the stroller near where the bar is. But, I'm not completely sure. I'll post again when he gets home.

The seats are broken around the second highest spot where the straps go through. They are in two separate pieces, just flopping around inside the seat cover. My kids (ages 6 and 3) were able to ride in it with no trouble. And I imagine that if they reclined a little, they would never notice. Admittedly, we didn't use the straps at all. However, a smaller child, who needs the support of the backboards may have some trouble. I didn't notice any tears. The seats looked a little dingy, but not bad by any means.

What accessories are still with the stroller?

The rain cover is with it and a left a small clip on fan.

Hey, if it weren't for those bus trips, we wouldn't have had the single stroller for the week. Plus, my husband is in a competition at work for who can get the most steps in (wearing a pedometer all the time), so he was able to get his step count up! He might win a prize this week!

I think anything we can do to keep them out of luggage services would be a good thing! When I wheeled the stroller up, I asked if he wanted me to show him how to fold it. He said no, they would just leave it as it is. So, I don't know if it was the fact that I hadn't already folded it, or because it was a "family" trade-off, they didn't fold it and then presumably couldn't pile stuff on top. That might help too. But, I'm sure that all depends on the guy you get at luggage services.

Hi Dena!

Yes the seats have been replaced...Swaps #3, #4, and #5 are all the same model and seats #3 and #4 have been replaced twice since January and seat #5 has been replaced once. Actually it is the entire seat until that they will replace. You simply remove less than a dozen screws, put the new seat on and put the screws back in. I will double check the number as I still have the replacement seat shipping paper here somewhere (LONG WEEK EXPLAIN LATER) but I will double check the model number incase it is a typo on my end. :) If you wouldn't mind, maybe giving them a call again once I post it. :)

Off to double check the model number :)

This is what I have on the invoice for this stroller.

InSTEP 11-AR800 - Suburban Safari 2008 Double Jogging Stroller
# PC-11-AR800

If you don't mind calling back and trying it again, that would be awesome for the swap! This stroller was purchased in March and they are still selling it on their website (just checked). Hopefully the shipment came in early and they can ship it to you before you leave.

Crossing my fingers!

Love the title, I can't wait to read that one!

Thanks....hopefully it is something minor!

Well they will have to be replaced....the sooner the better. Wonder why they are taking the front bar off the strollers. Goodness those are a neccessity if you have lil ones.

WOW what an incentive for employees to become/remain healthy!

Now that worries me because we do have alot of days in the next month or so where the strollers are going to be LS.

WE NEED SITTERS BIG TIME----HELP!!

Hi All,

I will be at Pop and BLT for the 7th to the 15th of August. It looks as though #4 may need a stroller sitter in that time. Since #5 may not be terribly usable then. I will happily take both and just use whichever is in the best condition. I can then hand off on the 15th to whomever needs to be sitting next.

Hi RC swappers! :goodvibes

We are in need of a stroller sitter for our swap Aug 28-31. The swappers on both sides of those dates are staying at Pop and I do not want the stroller to go into luggage services there if I can avoid it. I wasn't sure if anyone was going to be there at that time and would be willing to stroller sit. You can use the stroller if you like and let the RC take a breather if you wanted.

Anyway if anyone is interested in stroller sitting please PM me or post on my swap thread. The link is in my siggy.

Thanks so much!! :flower3:

Ok, I got hubby to try to describe where the screws need to be replaced. He said there is a plastic block just below the handle that folds. He said on both sides there are missing screws. I went to the manual, cut a photo out and tried to circle where he means. The image is small, but it should show where they are. Now I get to try to add an image to a post...something I've never done before!

Now lets see if that worked!

THANK YOU!:worship::worship: That was a HUGE gap and I was really worrying about the stroller for that amount of time. This is wonderful!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

:thumbsup2 Hi again Delmar!

It looks as those dates are hard to fill across all the swaps. Does no one go to WDW the end of August-maybe it is a heat thing!:lmao: I have one swapper---Disneynuts777---watching several of our strollers but one swapper--JERSEYGIRLINSI---who is going to be there those exact dates. Maybe try PM'ing her because she isn't on the thread that often....this way she will see it.

Has your new stroller arrived yet? Don't you love it when fed-ex/ups loses a package! Seriously, I could have drove to WDW quicker than some items have been delivered.

Anywho...trying pming JERSEYGIRLINSI as she is the only available swapper right now...hopefully she can help your swap out. :)

THANK YOU!! It sure did work. Those are some important screws to say the least...actually, I think they are rivets. BUt I think screws will work. I've asked the next swapper (1osfan) to take a look at it and the thread to get an idea of what is going on. Hopefully (crossing fingers) he will and maybe bring a few screws from home or call maintance while at WDW to get some. Those screws need to be tight as it is what holds the folding mechanism secure to the stroller.

Thank you for giving us an update, a photo as a guideline, and can't wait to read your report!

I'm going to call instep (or ask DebraW76 since she just bought the stroller) and see if maybe it can be replaced as this is the newest stroller, it might be under warrenty-being rivots and such. Cross your fingers. :)

ok...I've PM'd DebraW76...hopefully she and I can get all the details worked out, get the stroller replaced under warranty (AS THIS IS COVERED) and get a new stroller down to WDW ASAP. Then I will need a swapper to accept the stroller at WDW, assemble it (takes 10 minutes tops), repackage the older stroller and mail it back to INSTEP from WDW. INSTEP will include a postage paid address label-but Disney does charge a $5.00 handling fee on all packages...so if we can get it worked out, I'll need someone to volunteer to do this for the swap.

I'll let everyone know as soon as we hear anything and we can go from there! :)

I can stroller sit #2 for the end of July - August 8th. When I picked up stroller #3, I noticed the same issue with the seat back as #5, but it is only broken at the top strap hole on one seat. I am going to try and fix this. It is not major, my three year old fits in it fine and can still lay down with no problem.

HAHAHA...I was just going to PM you! That is tooo funny!

So #3 has a seat issue too. But atleast it is still usable!! I'll let jenok0426 incase she would like to donate a new seat for when she comes to the SUNSHINE State...thanks for letting me know. :)

What date are you heading back home (UGGGGHHHH I would never want to leave) so I can put the right dates on the calendar.

I will gladly accept your offer to stroller sit. The less time in Luggage services the better. You have been our guardian Angel this summer. THANK YOU! You need to consider changing your nick on the board to "stroller angel" or "Super stroller sitter" as you are going to have this down pat by August.

I'll gladly (and thankfully) put you as a sitter anywhere you would like to sit! I am really worried about those huge gaps...I can see strollers going missing or getting damaged while in Luggage services.
THANK YOU!!!

I will be in the area until approx. Aug. 18-19. I am not certain if I will be here longer, but I will let you know if that changes.

And I don't get it about that last week either! It could very well be the heat, it is brutal then. Although it is free dining during that time. I can't believe I have gaps during free dining. :confused3
