I have three boys under 8yo and they can get a bit rowdy at times, are there any Character meals that may suit better than others, i tried to get a PS for Chef Mickeys but it was fully booked, could anyone suggest any other venue they think might fit the bill, we are looking at dinner rather than Breakfast, Thankyou.

Well I would keep trying for Chef Mickey's because it is the rowdiest for sure! Other than that, Crystal Palace at MK would be a good choice, it was pretty crazy when we were there! Hollywood and Vine was nice, we went there for breakfast and Pluto actually took my sons hot wheel and layed down on the floor and started playing with it! They are not character meals but both the Rainforest Cafe, as well as Planet Hollywood are pretty loud and your rowdy boys could very well go unnoticed at either one of these! Cape May Buffet at Beach Club is a dinner with seafood and other choices that can also get pretty loud! Garden Grill is one of the quieter character dinners, but the restaurant rotates and that might help keep your boys on the quiet side. I have 2 boys myself, and for some reason, Garden Grill mellows them out!

I second the idea of the Rainforest Cafe. It is so cool and so lund that your three won't make much difference! Also Sci-fi might be a good choice for three boys. Movies and cars! As for character meals, I would too keep trying for chief mickeys, but also like H&V. By eight my DS was not too into the pooh characters at CP but tolerated it well for his mom. DS's favorite, though a breakfast, is Donalds at AK. Loud, bustling and fun. His second favorite is RC. Just a thought. I always found with DS (though there is only one of him) that a quite calmer resturant tended to keep him quiter and calmer than one full of activity. He would be a lot better behaved at a white table cloth/ crystal and silver place than at McDonalds!! Truly at WDW they should be fine just about anywhere. Have fun and don't worry too much!!

Let's face it - you won't have the only rowdy kids pretty much anywhere at Disney! Actually, 10YO DD and 7 YO DS are well behaved, and we usually take them to nice restaurants at the world, but they can get loud like any other kid.

That much being said, louder venues (PH, Rainforest, etc.) are alwats a good bet.

My choice for when my kids may not be on their best behavior - Whispering Canyon at the WL. It's loud, fun, and they get to run around a bit.

Don't worry about them being too rowdy. We'll be there around the same time and my two daughters, ages 6 and 3, will probably be the rowdiest of all.

I always worry about how they'll behave at restaurants, but they have always surprised me by acting halfway decently.

Just have fun and enjoy their excitement.

I did a walk up to Chef Mickey's for the dinner buffet and was seated in less than 15 minutes. The guy behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said he had made his PS weeks prior to that evening! LOL!! When all else fails, do try a walk up...

I second the walk up. We've done it at Chef Mickey's when Disney Dining has told us there is no availability and been seated within 15-20 minutes. You can easily wait that long with a PS.

Cape May does not have character dinners. They have only character breakfasts.

I second Whispering Cayon.

They have stick pony races, napkin twirling while screaming yeehaaa, and somewhat obnoxious (in a good way, in my opinion) waiters who will (depending on your waiter) sing songs, do bird calls, and razz you from time to time. If your kids embarrass easily, it may not be the place for them. Otherwise, I think they'd have a great time.

Also, DH LOVES the all-you-can-eat skillet, esp. the pulled pork. The bottomless milkshakes are great too.

Here's the menu:

'Ohana at the Poly is a nice alternative. They have hula contests and coconut races. It is all-you-can-eat and very good food:

Thanks everyone for your brilliant input, i think we will try for Chef Mickeys when we get to the world with Whispering Canyon as a standby.

The LEAST rowdy of the character meals will be at the Garden Grille, Cinderella's Royal Table and 1900 Park Faire breakfast. Any of the rest should do quite nicely.
