We are thinking of trying the Rose and Crown for dinner while at Epcot. After looking at the menu on line we were wondering how up to date it is. Does anyone know if they still have the roasted chicken dish for dinner? Can you also get the ground beef cottage pie as a main entree for dinner or is that only served during lunch?

How's the food and desserts overall? Is it worth a visit?

Thanks, would appreciate your opinions.

I dined here for dinner on my last trip and enjoyed it. The only disappointmen was the departure of the Guinness Chocolate Cake (very yummy). Try and see if you can get a PS for around 7:30pm and request a patio table. This way you can enjoy your dinner looking out at the Lagoon & World Showcase, then enjoy dessert while watching Illuminations. Below is a link to their menu.

Thanks for replying to my post so fast. The menu link you posted is the one we've already been looking at so I guess that must mean it's the most recent. Do you remember seeing the roasted chicken dish on the menu when you were there last?

Does anyone know if you can order the beef cottage pies for dinner since it's not on the menu or is that only for lunch? I think I read a post a while back where someone stated that if you ask the waitress they can make it for you even though it's not on their dinner menu. Is this true?

Any other reviews or opinions on this restaurant?

We ate dinner there in May and really enjoyed it a lot! I do remember them having a chicken dish on the menu but we were all going for beef so I didn't notice if it was the roasted one.

I'm sure you'd be able to get the cottage pie at dinner. I asked if it was possible to get just a VERY small portion of something for my 11 month old and the waitress suggested the cottage pie. I tasted it and it was delicious. Just makes me believe that they always have it on hand even if it isn't offically on the dinner menu.

Desserts are good but there isn't a huge variety. We had the lemon posset and the apple crumble and both were delicious!

The patio seating is the best!

Enjoy it!

Yes, you can get the cottage pie for dinner! I do it all the time. They are very accomodating. I would also suggest the cottage pie sampler thing they have. I do not eat onions and they have always substitiuted the scallion one with the mushroom or the beef. Very yummy!! I miss the Guiness Mous ethey used to have! It was to die for, especially in the Spaceship Earth chocolate "cup"!! Enjoy, and do try to get a 7:30 ressie on the patio. You will love the view of Illuminations!! Enjoy!

Thanks for helping answer my questions. We are now planning on trying R & C for dinner and we did luck out and get a 7:50 reservation. Since it's during the summer I'm sure the fireworks won't be until 9 or after, so that should work out. I'm sure even if we don't sit outside we can still stop eating and just walk over to the side and watch.

Appreciate the help! Thanks.

We ate there in early March and I thought they still had the rotisserie chicken, although none of us got that...three of us had the fish, one had the prime rib and one had the shrimp and steak. All was very, very good. We liked our server, Kerry, very much. We were unable to get patio seating, although we tried, and were able to catch Illuminations by standing just before the pub, near Canada. Bon Appetit!

The chicken is my favorite dish... You may not have noticed (I missed it the first several times I looked) but on the WDWIG site the dates of the menu are posted at the top - the Rose and Crown menu was from April 2003 - pretty recent, and their menu has not changed significantly that I recall.

Yes, I did notice the date of the menu, thanks for checking and posting that fact. I figured it must be their most recent one but I wanted to make sure they still had the chicken as one of the people we're going with doesn't eat fish or meat so we figured they'd enjoy the chicken. Glad to hear that they still have it and that the R & C is very accommodating to their guests. We are looking forward eating there.
