We will be heading there for lunch.

I heard about the fish and chips having the quantity of fish reduced.

Any other cuts to other dishes? What about the Bangers and Mash?

We have enjoyed eating there in the past and this was my husband's request for this time. I would like to give him a heads up so that he knows what to expect versus last time. TIA!

Last time we were there they denied me a drink I ordered. Said I don't look enough like my id.. Kinda offended me. It had been down pouring that day and of course I didn't look exactly like my nice hair and make up I had in my id. Lol.
Funny thing is we went back the next night to the pub side and they didn't card us at all.
Food was good though

That's a shame.
I don't blame them, though due to strict liquor license laws.

Did you ask for a manager? I would have.

I do. Reminds me of the TSA jerk who told me I should have my haircut changed to match my DL. I asked him if my boyfriend had to have hair implants too LOL!

never had a bad dish there, and ive tried the dishes that my friends ordered haha i reccommend it to everyone

My only complaint is the last 2 times I have dined there, I have waited 20 minutes or more past my ADR time. But the food was still good.

I've never had lunch there but dinner has always been great. My wife loves the fish and chips from Yorkshire County Fish shop though and gets them at least once every trip.

Manager can help you, then. No need for anyone to be rude about it, of course. But sell to someone you shouldn't and that can mean jail when it comes to liquor sales.

No complaints about the food or service but if you go during Food & Wine it may be hard to get to the rest rooms in the restaurant. We were there on a Saturday night for dinner. The bar was packed. I had to use the ladies room before dinner and went to walk through the bar to get there as I had done many times before. They had some tables turned on their sides blocking the little gate to the bar area. I asked our waitress about it. She said that they have to do this during food and wine to prevent people "spilling over" from the bar area into the restaurant. She suggested that it would be easier to go out the side door and across the street and use the park restrooms instead of trying to make my way through the bar.

We asked if management could check it. So she went and asked and apparently the manager said it was her choice even though I'm about 3 years over 21. And my husband had just turned 21 was fine to get his drink. Just seemed a little funky that the manager didn't come out. But oh well. I'm not one to put up too much of a fuss. And I was able to try my welsh dragon the next night

We went today! It was great.

I ordered the scotch egg. Delish!

DH did order the fish and chips--but only after we asked questions about it. This is what our server said...

It was a 6oz piece of fried cod which is different than what is served otuside at the QS. *i realize that some items you can ask different CM's, but we did ask her why that was and she said...* The other fish (some weird name I cannot recall) was more sustainable and since they sell a bunch more that is what was done. (I also wonder if maybe it was cheaper or something for Disney to buy, but did not ask.). She did say that the cod is more authentic as that is what is used in England.

So he went ahead and ordered. For lunch, it was adequate. He did eat the whole thing, but between that and splitting the scotch egg and our plans to go get ice cream in France, it was fine. $20ish does seem to be a bit much. But maybe cod is not as cheap as I think it would be. Or maybe they just charge more because I is "fish". In any case:
(Looks smaller than it is here, as it was not a flat piece.)

This is the "vertical" shot of the same fish a ice and you can see it is kind of tall. A testament to how photos can show the same meal differently. Reality is somewhere between these too images. Again, adequate for lunch. 8oz might be a better portion size for dinner if you are a hearty dinner. I think $17 or $18 would be more appropriate. But not bad as a meal regardless and not as lacking as prior reports I had read said.

I had the bangers and mash. Only two pieces of sausage. But as we have had this at home before and kind of know the calorie counts and such--perfectly adequate. Especially to one was going to have an appetizer or dessert or both. Sorry for no pic.

We also ordered the loaded Yorkshire pudding. I have had a lot of Yorkshire pudding growing up. I enjoy it. This was a not odd. It had mashed potatoes and cheese. I don't remember of it had anything else. I love the crust of a Yorkshire pudding with the soft but slightly firm top as my mom would make. I missed that with the loaded. So it was okay for me. I would prefer unloaded Yorkshire pudding with the mash and cheese on the side. No idea if that is possible.

The fish served at the QS location is pronounced Pan-gay-zee (I have no idea how it is spelt though). It is a Japanese cat fish which is similar to cod, but slightly sweeter. I believe it is more sustainable. No idea why they use it instead of cod though.
