will 3 adults and 2 children be cramped in a room there or fit comforatbly?

Basically if my huband, sons (3 and 7) and my Mom go should be get her her own room?

thanks

You should feel fine. I stayed there with two other women (three chicks, one bathroom--we managed fine!!) and we felt like we had plenty of room.

The rooms are large and have two queens and a sleeper sofa.

Just wanted to add, for what the rooms cost, you might want to book her her own room though, and ask for them to connect. Or look into the suites, they are REALLY roomy!

We had two connecting rooms in August last year and the rooms were huge. We had 5 adults and 2 children. During the Hurricane (We was there during Hurricane Charley) We all sat together in one room and never felt over crowded either. The rooms are bigger than any hotel I have ever seen. Im sure you will be ok. Another good hting. The bathroom is seperate form the sinks (Yes they have two with a full length mirror) It was noce to allow one to shower while someone else got dressed and did hair and all. I think a second room was geat since we had two bathrooms but we could have fit in one room if it was something we had to do (Or was allowed) Dont forget they charge for the third adult in the room.

Yes, I might be better off just getting two rooms, then she can have her own space too if she needs it or we can put the kids down in one room and hang out in the other at night. I didn't even think about the bathroom.

I'm glad to hear the rooms are nice and big though :)

thanks

Actually there are two different layouts with teh bathroom. Some have the vanity area with the sink outside the bathroom while others have it all in one room.

As ducklite said, there are two bathroom layouts in the old section. This information is very important when traveling with 5 people. One bathroom is roomy, but has toilet, tub/shower, and sink in one space. The other has a double sink and vanity in the outer bathroom and then the toilet and tub in an area with a door. The first time we stayed at SOG we got the one big bathroom style and it was fine. Once we discovered the other bathroom, I made sure that we insisted on it. A few weeks ago, when our party was a mom and 4 college girls, I requested the two part bathroom and they put us in the new wing. I THINK they said that all the baths in that wing are 2 part. The funny thing is that through the years the front desk staff has been totally oblivious to this issue. You can not believe how many of them have absolutely no idea that there are different style bathrooms. I go through the whole explanation every time and they all act surprised. Go figure.

I second that. I have had them argue with me that there are no split bathrooms in the hotel. You would think they would be educated on the layouts of the rooms. I could understand it if we were talking about reservation staff because they deal with around 50 hotels, but the ones who work in the hotel should know. Curiosity alone would make me want to check things out if I worked in a hotel.
