I just upgrade to room 12000 for our April 1, 2016 cruise. I know I read somewhere that you can order room service from the MDR's and possibly Palo. If you order from Palo or MDR's is there an extra charge?

You didn't say which ship, but if you are in a concierge room with a dining table (one-bedroom suites on Dream and Fantasy, all on Magic and Wonder), you can order from the main dining room. If you are staying in a Royal suite, you can order from Palo.

Sorry about that, we will be on the Dream. 1 bedroom concierge. So no Palo? And what about price?

You can read the MDR menus in the concierge lounge. One of the hosts/hostesses will take your order. Food will arrive after seating has begun in the MDRs. The written rule is that everyone must order from the same MDR. No Palo.

Be sure to order hot breakfast from room service. You can do this every morning except for when you arrive back at Port Canaveral. That morning you can have hot beverages, juices, milk, fresh fruits, danish, cold cereals, stuff like that.

We tipped after every meal, service was fantastic! There is no charge for included items from room service. There are items that had additional costs, such as candy, alcoholic beverages, popcorn.

You have to enjoy breakfast on the verandah, the view is best on your sea day. 12000 is our favorite stateroom, so much so, that we have it B2B in September.

Fully agree great post when we have had Palo in our room on a few occasions, there was no charges but we tipped. We have always had an officer and room service person come to set it up and deliver three times we tipped both at the end.

You say Palo

You say no Palo

I guess I will just figure it out

I am soooo looking forward to our cruise. Once I saw that that room was available I asked my TA to go for it. I hope that will be a little icing on the cake for our first cruise. Thank you all for all the knowledge that y'all share.

To clarify, you are in a one bedroom, no Palo. Palo is available to the Royals, not the one bedroom suites.

I'm confused. Since you had Palo in your room you must have been in a Royal Suite. Are you saying there was no UP CHARGE for Palo? Didnt you still have to pay the $30 per person fee?

In this case I was referring to having Palo delivered in a Royal, it is not part of the standard service in a Cat T.

Agree.

There was no up charge for Palo in your room. We have never been charged for it but just tip.
How much tip for MDR dinner delivery to a one bedroom suite?
Tipping is personal to you however if it's a family meal I would say $10, we tipped more for Palo delivery as they set up the table and delivered three times.

Thank you so much for the info!!! All you vets out there are so wonderful to share your knowledge with us newbies. I can't wait to be able to do the same.

Ah, are you the one who has it for 9/14 on Dream? (Not being stalkery, a friend had been trying to convince me to go for 12000 if it came up, although in all honesty I'm quite happy with my cat v bump out.)

This is our first cruise, how is the MDR food vs in the dining room? Is it still hot that kind of thing.

We've occasionally had items that were not "piping hot". But, if it's not you can always as for it to be heated up (or a new, hot entrée). For the most part our food has been fine.
