we're going to be at bc for 12 days in feb in a two bedroom from renting points. Can I rerequest a certain section, if so where would you suggest and can you see illuminations from your room? We have two reservations so we tried to link them together and was told it's two different type rooms. What do they mean?
Thanks

I am not sure what they mean by two different room types and having the ressies linked. Do you mean that you have a 2 BR and another type of room? 2BR don't connect to anything else. You could be side-by-side, but not connecting. And there's probably a slim-to-none chance that you could be side-by-side. You'd have to have people checking out on the same day ou area checking in in those same locations.

As far as requests go, you can request things like:

~ Close to parking lot
~ Close to Beach Club ~this is a good request if you want a room with the shortest walk to SAB.
~ Close to elevator
~ Pool view

They won't put an Epcot view as a request. Very unsure if they will even put Illuminations view on there. Plus, you can only see the high fireworks so it's not like it's a completely unobstructed view.

So what's important to you? I'd limit your requests to 2 or 3 of the important ones. That includes your smoking preference. If you put too many requests, the room assignor will not have many ways to help you.

We typically will do non-smoking and one other request, if we feel like it. I have to say, we have yet to have a bad room. All the locations we have had have been great and we have been in different areas and different floors.

Thanks for the good advice
When I said linked the rooms I meant our reservations were from two different people so I was trying not to have to change rooms. They may mean one is a two bedroom and one is a 1 bedroom with a lock off for the second bedroom. If that's the case which is better?

I don't think they can link you. The best best is to tell the CM at check-in that you have two different ressies and see what they can do. If they can't do anything at check-in, best bet is to go to the front desk on the day of your check-out/2nd check-in and see if they can just keep you in the room you are in.

If you had a dedicated 2BR, that means there is only 1 door accessing the hallway. If you have a lock-off, then there is a door for th 1BR section and the studio section. It depends on your situation. The only instance where I can see having 1 door is necessary is if you have very small children staying in the 2nd bedroom and you don't want them to have their own access to a hallway door. Otherwise, I feel it's completely a matter of preference.

There are two different types of dedicated 2 bedroom units at the BCV - one has two queen beds in the second bedroom and the other has 1 queen bed and a queen size sleep sofa. Those are separate booking categories, so my guess is that the two reservations you want linked don't match. If that is the case, you won't be able to stay in the same room for your entire stay. If you don't want to move, my advice is to waitlist for the type of bedding you prefer in the second bedroom. The units with 2 queens seem to book more quickly than the one swith sleep sofas.

It's also possible that one of the 2 bedroom reservations is for a lock off. However, MS generally books all the 2 bedroom reservations as dedicated before booking any as lock offs - that keeps the lock offs available to book separatly as studios and 1 bedroom units. It's more likely that your reservations are for different categories of 2 bedroom dedicated units.

Thanks,I guess moving is no big deal. Hopefully there's a place to hold our junk till the second room is ready. Does anybody know if they do that?

Sure - On moving day, you can leave your things with Bell Services until your "new" room is ready. If you have items that need to be refrigerated, bag them separately and be sure to bring it to the CM's attnetion when you drop them off or have them picked up.

Here's a good link to a map of the BCV Park2Go Map

We were in room 131 a couple of weeks ago and had a decent view of the Illuminations Fireworks. I could walk off the patio to the sidewalk and get a better view. If I were you, I would try to get 124, 224 or 324 (the 4th floor seems to have all the smoking rooms, so 424 may be smoking but not notated properly on the diagram). Where they are located, it gives you a better angle to view past the wing where rooms 39-52 are located. Plus you get a nice woods view and closeness to stairs and BC. If you request an Epcot View, you get a good view of the road too.

Rooms 302 & 304 (402 & 404 NS??) will give you a pool view and maybe a decent view over the opposite wing too.

Thanks for the help. If I've already got my confirmation is it too late for a request?

No - just call MS and ask to have your request noted on our reservation. It doesn't hurt to politely repeat your requests at check in.

FWIW, it isn't a good idea to request specific rooms. (If they aren't available/vacant when you arrive, the assigner will not know why you requested them). Better to more generally request what you want - view of IllumiNations, pool, woods, close to elevators, etc.
