hello, we want to book a veranda room but the option is unavailable and only inside and ocean view are available on the selected sail date.

What are the chances that a veranda room becomes available and we can book that? Does the inventory ever change? Should I just keep checking every day?

Thanks

Yes, the inventory can change. But, for the most part, once a category has gone GTY, it typically won't open up specific rooms. You just need to keep checking.

Up to PIF people cancel and change all the time so rooms can come back near the paid in full date. It depends on the cruise, when and where, for example low season may change a lot, special one off cruises are unlikely to change a lot.

When is the cruise you are considering, if you don't mind my asking? DCL has way more verandah staterooms than oceanview or interior cabins, so verandahs don't typically sell out until the cruise itself is nearly sold out. Verandahs are very popular for Alaska cruises.

If you are looking at an Alaska cruise this year, I would say rather slim chance of a verandah opening now if not current available -- not impossible but not a good chance. It's also possible DCL has them closed down momentarily while doing stateroom assignments, and what's left will re-open shortly.

If you are looking at an Alaska cruise next year and verandahs are already sold out, I would definitely expect some to become available as people change their plans. Especially next spring when the PIF dates roll around.

If you are looking at a different destination -- again if it's this summer, less likelihood of something opening up because PIF has already passed. If further out than this summer, I'd suggest you keep looking as that's unusual for verandahs to be completely booked so far out.

Enjoy your cruise!

I was thinking of taking the Transatlantic in September from Barcelona to Miami. There were verandas available Monday, but nothing since. My mom is now spoiled and only wants a veranda room

Keep looking they may come back. Some people put holds on them by TAs and then do not book them.

I believe it's past the PIF date for the Transatlantic cruise this September 2015, so any reservations must be paid-in-full at the time of booking. I'm not sure if DCL allows "holds" after the PIF date. But it is possible the inventory has been taken down while they work on GTY room assignments. Even though it's after PIF, seems early to be completely sold out of verandah rooms for the TA. I suggest checking back. They may be getting ready to offer *GT or other discount.

Good luck!
