Ok, I like to think that I am a pro when it comes to WDW but I now find myself not knowing the answers to these questions. DH and I have APs and when we travel to WDW and stay onsite we link our credit card to our key and use it for souvenir purchases and counter service. Well, this trip is a little different - it's just me and my sister! :earsgirl: :earsgirl: She has had it rough these last few months (divorce, near bankrupt, pretty depressed) so I have really been saving to make it a nice trip for her. I currently have 400 Disney Dollars and was wondering if I could give them to the CM at check-in to apply to our account? Also, is there a way to keep our charges separate? She doesn't have a credit card (and I don't mind her sharing mine) but I was hoping to apply what cash she has to her account along with some of the Disney Dollars I am bringing. I guess what I am really trying to do is avoid each of us carrying around lots of cash Disney Dollars. Finally, if I am allowed to pre-pay our account with DD's, can you use your room card at the beverage/Mickey Ice Cream Bar/Popcorn carts?

Thanks to all you experts! :p :bounce: :p

No experience with this, but here is my understanding:
You can give them cash, Disney $ or a credit card and they will set that as a limit on your KTTW. I don't know of a way to have 2 charge accounts for the same room. How about just adding the 2 batches of cash at checkin. Then at the end of each day the hotel can give you an itemized list of what you've spent. That will help you keep it separate on your end. Also, I know one person who paid for his whole trip with Disney $$, so I'm sure the hotel desk can handle it.

Yes, you can apply Disney Dollars to your resort account.

The computer will track which charges are made by which card. Example: you have card 01 and your sister has card 02. The charges on the bill will indicate which card was used to make the purchase. All you need to do is add up the information. You can ask at the front desk daily for an account printout if you desire.

No matter what form of payment you put down on your account, you cannot use your resort ID's (KTTW are cruise only) at most of the ice cream/popcorn carts since they are not connected to the computer system that handles the billing. The carts do accept Disney Dollars though.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I knew I could count on the DIS! :teeth:

Surprisingly enough, I found that at least one of them would accept a travelers check as well!

Just to confuse you further, you might be able to link your room card to one type of payment (disney $ and credit card) and link your sister's to another form of payment. We were guests of our friends at the Boardwalk, and did that. But, we were in two different rooms, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. (the reservation and DVC points were in their name) You can always ask when you get there.

You can only have 2 different sources of money if you have 2 different rooms. Otherwise, the best solution is to just make sure you always use your own key and get the print out to figure out who charged how much.

No real surprise there. Travelers checks are considered cash and are accepted as such anywhere at WDW including the carts.
