I am taking dbf to Disney for the first time...well he went once when he was 7 but you know how that goes, probably just MK and not for very long.

Anywhoo, we will be celebrating the one year anniversary of first date and I need to pick a restaurant. Dbf isn't very adventurous when it comes to food and told me to pick whatever I want.

Suggestions?

Honestly, it sounds like you've been to WDW a number of times. I say take him to one of your favorite places. You are still getting know each other, show him a part of your past.

Also select some place you'll both be trying for the first time, hopefully a new favorite for you both. I think the fact that you are doing it together is more romantic than where you choose to eat.

Good luck!

BTW we liked places like Boma, Coral Reef, if you're spending $$$ Narcoossee's.

Yea I have been more times than I can count (former CM). He is so excited but I don't want to overwhelm him. We actually arrive on his bday and I am taking him to ESPN...lol he's gonna pee his pants.

We are on the DDP and will have enough to use 2 credits each that night. Not to jinx it but if he hasn't by then I also think he might propose that trip. Just want to do something nice for him.

I loved Coral Reef but neither of us like sea food so we are more limited in our choices.

Go to California Grill -- if he's got any romance in him at all he'll propose during the fireworks!
Bistro de Paris would be nice, too.

I thought about that as it's MY favorite restaurant. BUT, I went there on my honeymoon with my ex-husband...not so sure about it.

Bistro is a nice thought though!

Either California Grill or Jiko. Boma is good but it is a buffet, not really romantic. Cali Grill is really nice if you can get an adr right before wishes starts, they dim the lights in the restaurant, and pipe in the music and its a great view of the fireworks. It also has a great wine list. I think this place is geared towards adults.

Since Cali Grill is out what about Citrico's. Very nice atmosphere and good food.

Citircos is very nice. Great food & good atmosphere. Jiko is great too!

Another vote for Jiko! I am not an adventurous eater but I found something to eat (seafood tho). They have flatbreads (pizzas! So that's safe) and steaks... it lets you be adventurous if you want to be but not too much so. Also really romantic and great service!

I think it's between Citricos and Jiko. I LOVED the steak at Jiko with the mac and cheese but I am afraid the menu is too diverse for his tastes if he doesn't want that.

Citricos looked great and I just love the grand floridian, maybe with a walk on the beach afterwards :lovestruc

Thanks for all your help!

You could also do a fireworks dinner at Narcoossee. DH & I did it on our trip in Sept. We really enjoyed the food and they piped the music for Wishes in during the fireworks.
If you want to try a new restaurant you could try The Wave. It's getting great reviews!

Have a MAGICAL trip and best of luck to you both! :wizard:

I would pick Citrico's over Jiko for your special event. I think after dinner, monorail to CR and have a drink at lounge by Cali Grille or walk to Poly and have a mai tai outside??????:rolleyes1

One of my most favorite dinners/nights with my DF, was going to Ohanas about an hour 1-2 before fireworks, and then laying on the hammocks on the Poly beach to watch the fireworks!

I realized that I had done Citricos before (don't know how i forgot) and it was amazing. I told dbf that we were going here and then for a walk on the beach afterwards...he is SO excited!!! Thanks for all your help! Who knows what will happen on our trip :lovestruc
