Boy, am I stupid. I saw the "Captain Jack" name in your update, and thought great, we just ate there, I want to hear somebody else's take on the place. What an incredible experience your family has had! Kudos to the CMs who helped the magic along! I love how Jack held Braeton's hand gently in his big strong one.

I am missing out on our New Year's party because I've come down with some kind of virus but reading your trip report after enjoying a movie at home with my family has made for a wonderful evening! And nope... not working! Like I said yesterday... I don't get paid to DIS! I'm a SAHM and while I could be doing laundry, making beds, or other houseworky type things... I am dising instead!

So where did I leave off?? Oh yes, after meeting Captain Jack we went and rode some rides!!!! Actually we went to the WISH lounge to let Braeton use the bathroom and rest a few minutes. The lady asked if we were their on a Wish trip and I said yes and she asked what kind so I told her Texas Wishing Well. She said Oh Make a WISh now here is where I should have just said yes, but I can't lie so I told her No but it's similar. She said well our Lounge is only for Wish families Now we were on a wish trip and I didn't feel it was worth it to argue and I had read that some thought it was only for GKTW and since we didn't go through them well I thought maybe it just wasn't for us, no biggie. And led us to a little cot in the first aid sectionAnyway there was a young kid crying and another family talking rather loudly so we only stayed a little while. Then we went to hit some attractions.

I can not remember the order we went this is the general ordr of how it went. We went and flew on Aladdins carpets. went into the Tiki room and I've heard a lot of flack on here about it but we enjoyed it. Iago is one of the Boys favorites so they really enjoyed watching him. Then we went on the jungle cruise. We had a great guide and I have to say here that we went into the w/chair line. We had one family in front of us. Then we had to wait a LOOOOOOOOOng time before we could get in. They were waiting on a special boat though we told them B would transfer. They still wanted to wait on this one boat. They ended up putting all of us in the w/chair line on together. Plus a few more. there was 1 w/chair and 3 that transferred a family whose DDs leg was broke. I am so glad we waited. It was less crowded and the guide was a hoot.
Then we went over to Frontierland. We went to the Country Bear Jamboree. It was o.k. I'm glad wewent and saw it but if we ever go back it will be on the if we have time list not the must do list. I was remembering the one at DL when i was a teen and it wasn't near as good.
Then we were getting hungry again so we went to Pecos Bills. Now I had Dissed and DISsed on CS restraunts and this one had pretty good reviews and Pecos Bill was Braetons favorite book at the time so I was pretty excited about this one. We get in line and order our food. The CM taking the orders was ready to go home and was a little grouchy but thats o.k. We just gave big smiles and ordered our food. We find a seat and B has got to go potty, now this is a big ordeal. So lucky me DH took him And then I went to fix our food. So I go to the condiment bar and it was a little crowded. I watied for some people to leave and then took my turn. Now this was not very Disney like and I'm so glad it was my 2nd place to eat or I might have been too grossed out to try anymore with an open mind!!!!
First of all there was a CM swiping a dirty wet cloth here and there trying to look busy. There was food alll over the bar and there was no ketchup. Me and another man were asking for ketchup and the CM lazily pointed to the other side and said there is a little bit in that one. I'll go get some more later. So I reach over to get some ketchup and I see it It's moving and oh look it's got a little friend. And oh there is another friend!! Awwwwwww......................................YUCK!!!
By this time I'm feelling a little I know tht at all big theme parks and even resturaunts they fight these creatures, but no one was even fighting these!!! So I leave the R Ro Roa I can't even say it!!! YUCK. ROA CHEs!!


I go back to the table and I pray over my food and hope that there is none in the back of the kitchen. I couldn't take one bite. BLECHH I didn't tell the others and they didn't eat more than a few bites. They just weren't very impressed with the food. But we did have a CM that was cleaning tables come over and check on us a few times. He was very hard to understand. I think he was from Peru. He ended staying by us quite a bit. He was very homesick. He had been in the states @ 6months on a college work program with @ 6 other guys and you could tell everything was very overwhelming to him. He made Braeton a Sherriff which was right up Mr. Pecos Bills alley!!!! So then we head off to go to .................
Splash mountain. Yep, good thing we didn't hardly eat!! Tyler got scared to death in there!! Braeton loved it!!! Something was going on because every few minutes the cars would stop and we would hear how Brer Rabbit had gotten into trouble. It took a Looooooong time to go through this. Even though it was a blast!!! So we got off dripping wet and headed for BTMR. The CM spotted us and waved us over to a wheelchair accessible lane. I asked him if he needed the GAC. He just waved us on. He called on his radio and when we got up to the top another CM came and got us. We bypassed everybody. Then we went. Braeton decided he wanted to ride in the front!!! But then he decided to let his Dad and Tyler ride there. Luck us right? NOT when we came barreling down the water decided to go over Tyler and Shannon and come raining down on us!!!
Braeton begged to ride again and the CM says ya'll can stay on if you want too! So Dh and Tyler gets off and me and Braeton ride again.
So then we go soaking wet of course off to.....PP and Dumbo. Then it was getting close to toime for the fireworks so we went and rode Splah Mountain one more time for Braeton. DH stayed out for this one. It went a little faster this time and they offered to let us ride again. No thanks. We get off and Dh is waiting on us. By then B has to go potty again, now finding a restroomwas tricky. I had a map of all the BR and I had left it. When B has got to go he has got to go and for some reason a lot of well meaning and I'm sure they are perfectly sweet people, but they just don't see any difference in a little boy in a w/chair and a baby in a stroller when it comes to Bathrooms. Any other time they treat him way different. but it's amazing how many people will barrell in a handicapped b/room. I understand the stroller thing if no one is with you. I've done it myself. But 3 x we wer cut in front of with women and kids in strollers only to have them leave the strollers outside the door or leave the kids with another adult! So I just parked the chair in front of a regular stall and proceeded to try to get him out and help him use the Bathroom. Another lady who was pretty aggravated for me helped hold the chair and then she blocked the door the best she could. Thank you nice lady whoever you were!!!

So then it was time to go find a good spot. As we were leaving a CM gave us a bag of Cotten candy!!! YUM!!!!

So we head over to Liberty Square where I had read there was a good spot to watch Tinkerbells flight. There was!!! But then 12 other people had the same idea. They were beautifull and awe inspiring.
We didn't get many pics of this trying to corral 2 very tired and hyper boys was a challenge.
Then the kiss goodnight.

This has got to be one of the most beautifull sights. It just made me stand and dwell on the wonderfull things that had happened that day. And you know what? We had no major medical emergencies, if fact I only had to use 1 band aid on Braeton I believe. It was just an awesome day. I have to say in our worn out and exhausted state I had never felt so rested!!!

So then we are heading out. Now the plan was to get an ice cream and let the crowd thin before heading out, but the weather had other ideas. BOOOM we had an instant Shower, BUmmer we left the soap back at the room!!! So we are heading for Shelter because do we have our Ponchos that we so carefully planned and brought with us????? Oh well we get into a little arhway and discuss the nest plan of action. No one wants to move to let the w/chair through But everyone wants us to move so they can walk by. So we are trying to huddle as close as we can to the wall. I'm in the rain and so is DH but as long as Braeton isn't right in it we are o.k. That chair is not fun to have to dry off!!! All the sudden I feel something brush my leg and people start jumping out of the way!! WHAT????????????

Braeton has released his brakes again and we are now ..........................................
ROLLING THROUGH THE WORLD 1 more time!!!!!!

Why didn't I think of that earlier????

We get to the train station about the time there is a break in the weather so off we go back to the resort.

We are tired and a little hungry. Poor Tyler is still asking about the Pirates Tutorial. Can we go tomorrow??? I don't know Dh has Dialysis and we have a special lunch planned. Do we get on the right bus home???
Where are we going tomorrow???

Do we ever get anything to eat???
Do I even get my shower WITH Soap???

I'm a SAHM first and a substitute teacher second. But I was strictly a SAHM for 3 years. It's work!!! If someone doesn't believe me come to my house and try it for a few days.

I hear you on the laundry and house work. I am way behind. I have all the trip stuff to unpack and I still need to take my tree down etc.... I don't even know what I'm cooking tonight. So since I have an hour before anyone gets home I'm going to get off my seat and get busy.

That makes me mad when people use handicap bathroom.....

I can see if all of the stalls are busy and you have recently potty trained kid, and you just try and get in there fast and out.....You just hold it yourself if you have to go..but hard for a little one to hold it...

I always just put the stroller off to the side..I would never push it into handicap stall, trying to justify myself or being in there.. That is why they now have family bathrooms..Some people

What a wonderful update and great photos. I really enjoyed it and so nice that Capt Jack gave so much time to the boys and gave them gold coins and really made them feel special. It's so cool you got to be in the parade too. It seems that everyone has been wonderful to you all and it sure makes those of us reading your TR feel good knwing how many caring people are out there and tht Disney truly is the magical place we all believe it to be!

I hope that the family who was giving the kidney is going to be okay and that God Blesses them in many other ways. I do hope another one comes along soon for Shannon!!!!

Thanks Mom!! I owe you and Sharky a p.m. and cards. Hope ya'll will accept late ones and that ya'll will still keep me in the family!! No excuse just really busy. No one got them from us this year. I bought them and even filled some of them out. Maybe I should go ahead address them all and then send them out early next year!!!!
As far as the kidney God definatly knew Shannon didn't need it right then. He has fought sickness ever since with this enfection and now part of his incision in his arm broke open and drips fluid. EWWW!!! They said as long as he can elevate his arm and the dripping stops then he's o.k. Keep it clean and covered. So that's what we are doing!!

I'm trying to catch up here. gee, all I can say is I'll think twice about complaining about our little job problems!!!! my prayers are with you. about the donor family.... when our oldest was in high school a friend of his died in a car accident. her family donated her organs and I can't tell you how much it helped them to know that something good came from her untimely death,... it really, really did, no lie.

WOW You and Smidgey??? I wanted to eat at Captain Jacks but I'm glad we stuck close to the parks. I'm glad you like!! I'm sure you will have lots of interesting things I could have said!!!! Thank you Tat! We had so much neat stuff like that happen to us. It was amazing. I can't tell you how much we usually get ignored or get huffed and puffed at. In fact there are lots of times I just carry Braeton because for some reason people are more kind when you are lugging a 5 year old @ but have the wheelchair and all of a sudden you are in the way, but at Disney we felt pretty special.
