Hi everyone!!!
Thanks for sticking with me even if I am still on the 2nd day and it's almost Christmas!!!!!
Things are a little more crazy than usual @ haere right now. Shannon had surgery Mon and then again today. Both were outpatient. Today took about 4 hours longer than they thought so we are a little tired!!! He is doing fine. I just have to do everything for him for at least 24 hours. He had the start of a fistula for dialysis access put in today and can't use his right arm. He's right handed!!!! So for the next few days while it heals MOI will take care of him.
We started on our house Sat. The goal was to get the house framed. A group from the Methodist Church here in town came and worked on it today. ALL of our walls are up!!!! And most of the outside is not only framed but sheathed! We couldn't help today because of Shannons surgery but Sat we did!
Braeton has done pretty good the last few days. And I don't know if I mentioned it or not and I'm too tired to go back and check!! but Wed was the audition for the UIL team for oral reading and Tyler made it!!!!!
I've gotta go, but wanted ya'll to know I haven't forgotten and am planning on doing an update Sat morn while Shannon is in Dialysis!
I hope all of ya'll are having a Great Holiday Season and hopefully I will get on before then but if I don't

Well it goes like this.
After I had Braeton me and Dh were seperated for a few years.
So I have this baby who in the Dr.s terms would be vegatative with very limited movement. I was recovering from having 6 surgeries in 16 days after B's birth and T was not quite 3 . We moved to Tx in with my parents for @4 1/2 months. So I finally get my own place. Tyler was 3 by then and I am trying to survive being a single Mom with 2 kids and NO job. Well No $$$ paying job.
I was doing therapy with B several times a day and night and was just worn out. I would go back to La every now and then and work my old job to get some $$$. They were real good about letting me do that and I could bring T with me and my sister would keep B for a few hours. I couldn't do much but I was trying to do what I could. So anyway finances were a little shall we say.....tight?!!!
Anyway I was craving Asparagus but it just wasn't in the budget that month. I was cooking one day and fussing to myself because I didn't have Asparagus and couldn't afford it and blah blah blah.....
NOw sidenote.. I could have asked my parents, but they helped me so much and I wanted to do it on my own!!
So anyway I'm just a fussing and Braeton made a laughing sound. I went to him and just started crying, because God was so good to me and I was being so unthankfull. I told God I was sorry for my bad attitude that I was so thankfull for his strength and for seeing us through. At that time I was living on less than $400 a month, but somehow my bills were always paid. God would just bless me. There were times when I would open my altoids tin after church and there would be a couple of hundred dollars in there. I would find $$ in the bottom of an old purse. My groceries lasted 2x longer than normal. I went to Houston and back on a quarter of a tank of gas 2x and it takes 3/4 of the tank to get there!! Anyway i just thanked the Lord for filling my needs and to help me be sattisied and not to pout about my wants.
couple of nights later I went to church and a lady at church that I didn't know very well at that time came up to me and asked if I used coupons. Yes I did!! So she daid well, I was cutting out some for us and I cut out these for you if you would like them. Yes i would!! It was everything I used. Anyway she said and I put you a little surprise in there and started laughing.
I reached in and pulled out a can of Asperagus. I just stared at her. She said I got this and we don't eat it. I just felt to put it in your bag. Do you even eat asparagus????
Anyway I was in shock and I went home and cried and thanked God that he not only fills our needs but He cares about our wants sometimes too!!
She still brings me Asparagus sometimes and that's been almost 4 years ago!!!

Yes Braeton did want to take that Hula home and I'm so glad you mentioned that, because I want to find a Disney Hula and have one under the tree Christmas morn with one of the Dis pics of him and the Hula attached.
I'm setting up our trip today!!! We always spend Christmas Day with my family. I just meant as a gift to each other and we usually like to do something as a family but this year we didn't think we would be able to.
So Dmom does Sharky need to buy you a lifetime supply of Klee-nix for Christmas???

Wow LeeLee, that is an amazing story!!! I am so in awe of you and what you went through and how you got through it yet I complain and pout about what I am going through. Maybe some day God will bless me too, ,who knows, it sure would be a wonderful thing to be blessed like that and find my way out of this. Thanks for the inspiration!

I've been thinking about you and wondering what you were up to and where you were and mainly if you were all okay.

Glad that Shannon's surgeries went well just not quite as quick as you expected. I imagine you are busy taking care of him but soon you'll be back and ready to post and play again.

Congrats to Tyler for making the oral reading! that's something to be proud of!!!

I am excited about your house, sounds like they are moving right along. Can't wait to see pictures!

O.k. I replied to all of ya'lls post on Sat and I see it didn't go through! The DIS was slow for me that day and my comp. started freezing up. Once I got off the DIS it didn't do that!
Anyway I hope you all will forgive me If I don't respond to all of your great post and just try to get an update in.
I know it will be hard on ya'lls part, I know ya'll would rather me keep you waiting for an entire month to finish Day 2 but you know, sometimes you have to sacrifice.
So I'm going to cut the chit chat and get down to an update!!!
Well first I have to respond just a bit to the comments.
Thanks so much for all of your kind remarks and yep the Asparagus story that does sound quite hilarious!!!! I can just see a class of Jr high or High Schoolers. And now I'm going to tell you the Asparagus story!!!!!!1

As soon as I can get some Pics downloaded or uploaded I will post some of the house,b ut I will probbly post more on Ddads or Sharkys thread since theirs is on the community board.
And a quick update on the fam. Tyler and Braeton are doing great!!!! I bought Braeton a Micky shaped pepperoni pizza the other night and promptly forgot about it in the oven. I kept going and checking on the Taco Soup I was making trying to see why there was a burning smell????
1 hour later I took the pizza out of the oven!!!

What can I say???

So as he fought back tears I tole him I would go to the store and buy him another one. He asked me if I could please buy him a cheese pizza instead so it wouldn't burn like the pepperoni one!!!!!
So last night we got him a cheese one and he was so amaazed that I didn't burn it!!!
He kept wanting me to open the oven door every 2 min or so to make sure it wasn't burning like the other one did!!!!!!!

He is getting some Mickey PJs for Christmas and I think I may let him open them this evening so he can be wearing them in our Christmas pics!

Shannon got another call Sat for a kidney!!!!!!
Unfortunatly due to the 2 surgeries he had earlier in the week, one of them due to an infection in his dialysis atheter he was on antibiotics and had just taken a dose during dialysis that morning, so it was a no go! Their is already a risk of an infection when you are on antibiotics and this kidney was coming from a small child so that made the risk of an infection even higher so the Doc said the risk was just too great especially since DH has LUPUS so.......... At least they called. The last call was 3 days before the WISH trip. I do pray for the family of that child. It really overwhelms me that someone who is experiencing such a great loss could think of someone else and give the gift of life. So somewhere today there is a family grieving and 2 familys rejoicing over kidneys!!!!!
One day it will be us!!!

Now on to our regular scheduled programming!!!!

So we are heading toward the Ice cream parlor and who should we see again??????

Jennifer asked if we had seen them and they promptly replied yes we know Tyler and Braeton! They were really getting into the act so we stopped for a few minutes and watched them. Then we went on the ice cream Parlor. Along the way she had gotten stopped a few times by people wanting their pictures taken. She felt bad for slowing us down but it wasn't bothering us any. We were still on cloud nine from all the magic at the parade. I even held some backpacks and watched a stroller while she was taking pics. So we get to the Ice Cream Parlor Hug Jennifer good bye and get in line for our Ice Cream.
The guy at the register did not want to take our certificate. He said we needed to go to a cart. It didn't matter to us even though this was where we were brought but the lady at the next register came over and looked at it and pointed out something and he was just fussing and arguing and then switched to another language still fussing. I was geting a little embarrassed as everyone was looking at us and the lady rolls her eyes and says just give the certificate to me I will ring it so then he grabs it back and proceeds to ring us up muttering the whole time. Me thinks the pixie dust had missed him completely!!!!!! We got our Ice Cream and smiled sweetly and thanked him for his service. I was hoping maybe a little kindness would make him feel better. The CMs dishing up the Ice Cream must have felt sorry for us as 1 of our cones would have made 2 complete meals for all 4 of us our cones were so big!!!!!! We had a few comments on how we must be special they were so big!!!!!
Anyway we found a spot and Oh I wish I had a pic of us trying to eat our Ice Cream in a 100 degree weather. We had Ice Cream all over us!!!!! Then the ice Cream started slipping off the cones.
So we ate as much as we could and then tried to clean us up as best as we could. I am so glad for Germ X and wet wipes!!!! These are a neccessity for all back packs!!!!
As we were trying to clean up a CM came up and asked us if we would like to be in the family fun day parade! Braeton promptly said Yes and so off we went. We got our flags and stickers and who should come to lead our section but Clara belle. Unfortunatly we didn't get any pics of this. She remebered the boys and was acting quite snobby toward Tyler miming how he wouldn't kiss her cheek or her hand!!!! Finally Tyler tod her she was beautifull and she was happy!
We had a great time. It was quite tricky keeping the flags from getting under the wheel chair!!! Anyway we get MORE stickers and off we went to the meet and greet with Cap'n Jack!
We Went in the regular way and I'm glad we did. Even though the line was quite long the que was awesome and Tyler couldn't get over all the gold that was just laying around!!!!!
Anyway I was trying to kep Braeton awake because he was getting very very tired and then a CM saw us and brought us to a seperate line. There were 3 families in front of us and after 15 in only 1 had been let in to the other line. The 2 families in front of us wanted us to go in front because they saw Braeton going to sleep and then the CM ask us if anything had happened to us that day. We told him and he walked off on his radio. A few min. later he came and got us an brought us in front of the gazillion people on the other side and in we went to see the Awesome
CAP'N JACK!!!!!

He was great! He spent a lot of time with the kids. They shut off the line and let us have @ 10 min with him. He knelt down and told me he had Braeton, to go on, wasn't he the infamous Cap'n Jack!???

When we went to leave he told us to wait and he grabbed a marker off of of one of the handlers and got some gold coins and signed his initials on it We were told that he doesn't do that to everyone! He had done that to the little girl in front of us so I don't know but the boys sure loved it.
He aarrrgghhed with the boys and told them not to get in too much trouble!
So we left on cloud nine again. Then we went and hit some rides.

What a wonderful update and great photos. I really enjoyed it and so nice that Capt Jack gave so much time to the boys and gave them gold coins and really made them feel special. It's so cool you got to be in the parade too. It seems that everyone has been wonderful to you all and it sure makes those of us reading your TR feel good knwing how many caring people are out there and tht Disney truly is the magical place we all believe it to be!

I hope that the family who was giving the kidney is going to be okay and that God Blesses them in many other ways. I do hope another one comes along soon for Shannon!!!!

I'm trying to catch up here. gee, all I can say is I'll think twice about complaining about our little job problems!!!! my prayers are with you. about the donor family.... when our oldest was in high school a friend of his died in a car accident. her family donated her organs and I can't tell you how much it helped them to know that something good came from her untimely death,... it really, really did, no lie.
