I think maybe if we all did something lime green during sail-away, that would be fun. Even lime green clothing. I am a green fanatic with Clare.
I agree, would much rather be at the balcony looking over, than actually at the party. You can hear all of the festivities going on.

Just my two cents

Wine Tasting
Last year we did it Thursday after dinner. That was too late. Everyone was full and tired! On the 10-12 cruise, we are still doing it on Thursday, but at 2 PM. We won't be tired, or full.
So, if you want to do it Sunday, it may be better to do it in the afternoon.

Sail away
We like to be above the action, so we can see the party and look over the railing at the same time. We have never seen any dolphins. I have heard you need to be at the front of the ship to see them.

I got your pics Lori! Thanks, I think we're gonna have a great looking ship!!!! We now have a digital camera so when we can figure it out I'll get my pics to y'all.

Don't know yet where we will be for the sail away party. If everyone is meeting on deck 10 that is where we will go, if not we'll be right down there in the middle of the action! Of course, there is time to be in both places for awhile!

I agree if we do the wine tasting on Sunday, let's make it the afternoon. Will have to figure out the kids' schedules so they don't miss anything really fun. If all the kids meet at the sailaway maybe it can be adults for the wine tasting (and any kids that want to come also - would NEVER exclude them!!) Have to look at those navigators! Captain's Reception starts at 5:45 for late seating and is AFTER dinner for early seating. Formal portaits start at 5:00 and the line gets pretty long fast.

Is it October yet?????????????? I am sooooo ready!!!!!!!!!

We skip the sail away party. Ted and I will be on deck 10 all the way forward. We have seen the dolphins. For those of you interested the dolphins don't appear until you get out the bay area. (correct name????) That is quite a few minutes out. Will wear a pin or something lime green to stand out. I have plans to actually board with the lime green. Might even wear it at the Radisson in the morning in hopes of running across those of you staying there. I like the idea of wine early enough Sunday afternoon so that we can dress, hit the photographer and the Captains Gala. If we wait too long in the trip I am afraid we will never meet---too tired, too busy, just don't feel like it or all the above.

WHOO-HOOO!!!! I just bought 8 tradable Disney pins for $25. at CheapPins.com That will be my surprise for the kids when I need a good bribe during travel, or just as a reward for being such cool kids. It's getting closer and more real everyday! :Pinkbounc

All right. It looks like the wine party will be on Sunday at 2 PM. Have we decided where yet?

I'll have to remember my lime green ribbons. I will already be so laid back from the 1st cruise.

Do we have someone keeping track of everyones name, cabin #'s, etc...? If not, I will volunteer. Just e-mail me your name and the names and ages of kids, your cabin number (so we can phone each other if need be), what excursions you are taking and times. I will type them all up and hand them out at our meet.

Sunday at 2pm sounds fine to me. Remains to be seen whether my kids will join us! It sure will help knowing this in advance so I don't book anything at this time (spa, hair braiding). Thanks Denine! I vote for meeting somewhere outside if possible (weather permitting!) Do you think deck 7 will be crowded at this time?

Lori - we took Disney pins and had a GREAT time trading. Actually if you see a CM with a lanyard with pins you can ask to trade right there and then - no waiting for the pin trading sessions (mostly in the shops). :)

Sunday at 2:00 is PERFECT. Thanks Denine for taking the initiative for a time. How about the secret verandah on deck 7?

I am enjoying seeing everyone's pics. I am waiting for someone from work to get back from vacation, so I can use their scanner to send mine along too! I am going to have to print out this thread to keep track of all of the activities!! My DH thought that I was nuts finding out all this valuable info, meeting new FUN people, etc. So finally, he said that he wanted to actually SEE the boards. Now he is totally amazed with what a wealth of info it is!! Possibly a future junkie?????

More again soon!

I have been on this ship a few times and this is the first I have heard of a secret verandah. Fill me in please!

Like the secret porthole rooms, the secret verandah is not well known. It has specific hours and is somewhat small (not like the rooms---much bigger than that). It is hard for me to picture the size. I just remember - how quaint. Never thought that I might have a gathering there. It is far forward. Whenever we have checked it out it was abandoned. I am sure it would hold all of us. It has a few chairs. How many??? I think that it would be perfect. Anyone else know of it?

One more thing. It is BEHIND closed doors so if you were walking deck 7, you would never know it was there.

That sounds perfect. We could all order something from room service and bring it with us, along with our wine and glasses and whatever else we need.

I just got my shore excursion booklet!!!!

Everyone: Don't forget to e-mail me your info so I can print it up.

You said you got your excursion brochure. Are you fully paid? Should we all be expecting these or are you special LOL:D
Does this come separately from docs.
Krista

We just payed in full last week. The brochure was sent to my TA before we paid though. So, you should all be getting yours soon!

Yes, it comes separate from the docs.

Haven't gotten mine yet but can't we book shore excursions next Tuesday?

I am so looking forward to this, even Greg (DH) said he was getting excited about the cruise! Showed him the picture Dave posted of Megan's Bay and we both said we just might have to skip Coral World! Since we're doing this on our own we don't have to decide until that day really.

Shore excursions may be booked 60 days in advance.

Hi Guys. Time is FLEETING!
My past few days have been a blur, in fact. I worked Mon-Wed. got a call Tue. afternoon at work to hear that my Dad's angiogram appt. lead him not to an angioplasty or stent, but a freaking triple bypass scheduled for the next day. They wouldn't even let him leave the hospital from the cath lab. So much for *that* outpatient appt. So yesterday, I get up at 6 to go to work, kiss the kids goodbye for the next day and night as they slept, finished work and drove across town to be there with his wife for the 'wait', he got out of surgery at 8:30 PM, I hung out with him until about 10:30, my Mom called that Cody was crying and missed me, so the sleepover idea was out, I picked up the kids and got them to bed by 11:30, woke up at 7AM to drive back to the hospital and keep an eye on his care, etc. He's doing fine.
Finally I'm home! Aghh. Tomorrow I work again, volunteer at a parade Sat, etc, etc. NOW, I'm ready for school to start LOL I need a nap.
I've emailed Denine with our info. I think Barb or Dave have a good description of Deck 7's verandah. That sounds like a good plan A. Maybe if another gathering beat us to it, we should have a back-up plan ... or just toss the other people out! (or see what they have to drink;) )

I'd love to see as many of you as possible on board before we sail or at sail-away, too. Seeing Dolphins in the wild would be so cool. Maybe we can leave our favorite festivities right when the ship actually starts to move, and meet up front. Which deck?
Like I said, some serious high five's will be in order at that moment.
I found some tropical shirts for the kids at Saver's. They have leaves of different shades of green (some are lime!) and I made up some name buttons with lime green ribbon hanging off of them. If nothing else, you will recognize my kids! (Now watch me forget to dress them in them:rolleyes:)
Time to tackle the mail and dishes that have waited for me.
SEE ya! Lori
