I HATE SHOPPING!!!!!!!!

There, I said it! I just spent 7 hours shopping with my mom and we went so she could buy me my Christmas present!

I still have more to buy for her and plenty more for my DS and DIL.

I will try to read some more.

Ok, does anyone have Verizon? I have 4000 minutes on my cell phone to talk mobile to mobile on Verizon. Could be fun!!

I have Verizon!!!! I will email my number to you when I get a chance but I do have to go outside my house to use it. It isn't cellular friendly.

Diana-it took me this long to find your post about your dad. I hated leaving for WDW without knowing how it all went. My prayers are with him and your family!

Laurie-where are you?!?!?! You have not reverted to lurking again since I left have you?

I must say that I did go through withdrawl. We tried to post from pay computer in EPCOT but I couldn't get the mouse to click. Wasted a $1 oh well I did try. I missed you all. It looks like I missed out on a lot of fun here also.

Whoever didn't get the EPCOT postcard let me know I will forward it.

Feeling better and better. I may even get up before noon tomorrow!!

The freezer is all clean and ready to be filled again. Lori, I could have used your help, but the it's over now!!! I guess I have to drive to my sister's house tomorrow and get the few items that were spared.

Julie - we received our gift a while back. Mine will go out with FedEx on Monday. I have it but just didn't get it out when I was bed ridden!!! Thank goodness Paul has a FedEx account - I know my recipient will get it in plenty of time before Friday. OOPS!! I hope the FedEx hint doesn't give away my secret to the recipient.

Chat tomorrow.

Well, I made it through the party. We actually had 21, I MIS-COUNTED, yikes, and didn't realize until I was setting tables. It all came out without a hitch, if I do say so myself.
It was a very simple menu, and would have been even better with all of you all there. The computer nerds just don't have much personality.
We had jalapeno chicken from the grill, a lovely corn and rice dish, Christmas salad (greens with grapes, oranges, red onion, feta and a citrus vinaigrette), breadsticks, apple crumb cake and Mulva pudding from Portugal. Oh, and lots of alchoholic beverages.
The guys all got hand-held video games ie. Uno, Scrabble, etc. and the ladies got a hand-carved snow angel.
The kids got games and hot dogs, that was definitely a no-brainer, and they got caramel apples for dessert.
All and all it was worth it and fun. I got to ATTEND a holiday function tonight, and am having my glass of wine while I type. (Oops, typos beware)
Found a new wine: Kenwood Sauvignon Blanc, around $9 and quite lovely. Not sweet, but smoother than a Chardonnay.
I am now a member of the he-man women's club, seeing that I purchased, dragged off of the jeep, dragged into the house, put tree into the stand, lighted the d*** thing and placed this year's disney ornaments upon THE TREE!!
Yes, please bow to me now, I deserve it. LOL.

Dudettes glad you are home, sorry about the lousy weather. How was the Dolphin.
Darren: Heavens to Murgatroid (sp?) a cruise without us, how dare you?!
Jaymee: Way to go, we'll be pulling for you.
Sue: Glad you are feeling better.
Laurie: You are always welcome at our home.

Oh, sorry, funny story. An employee of David's took a cruise right after us. She saw all of the cards from our Disney friends and was amazed. She said, "You actually got cards from people you cruised with, how did you even know their names." See we really are special.
With that adieu for the evening.
Krista

Krista-did you do all that cooking yourself on short notice? Or was it catered???? If you did that yourself you don't need to haul in the tree etc for the he-man women's club! I am impressed!!!!

Glad it went off without a hitch. You get Hostess of the year!

Wow! You all are awfully quiet! I can't believe I was the last to post last night and the first this morning.

Krista-the Dolphin was a beautiful resort and the tree in the lobby was magnificent but it didn't feel like we were in Disney without the Mickey soap, Mickey signs etc. I love their Oatmeal soap! We had a great room that overlooked the lagoon facing the Boardwalk and could watch Illuminations from the balcony.

Denine & Julie-It was great talking to you both last night and hearing Kaleigh in the background. What a terrific surprise! OK-first week in December 2003 here I come!

Julie-I guess the kids wore you all out last night! NO POSTS of CLIPART????

Well I gave in my time off request for the start of January to my store manager yesterday wondering what she would say! But she hasn't screamed at me yet and she took the request home with her so things are looking good!!! I'll just have to double check when I see her at work today but it's definatly looking like i'll get the time off!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Now I'm still wavering a bit from a financial point of veiw know i'll be very poor when I get back and wondering whether I'm being stupid going away again so soon, what do you all think, I need support here!!!

Anyway, I'm hoping Dreams will get back to me either tomorrow or Tueday to give me that final quote! I've been looking at flights and it looks like a direct flight might be my best option! I can't believe it usually the direct flights are soooo expensive. I tell you everything is clicking into place so well that it almost seems like I was meant to go!!

Susan - It's great to hear you're feeling better, still lots more Pixie dust going out from me to you!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I say go for it. As long as you will only be poor and not in financial ruin. You will be rich in memories! When in January is your interview? You may get back from the cruise, have your interview and then give notice since you will then be living on the ship! Our server in Le Cellier will be working on the Magic in a couple months (maybe January?) He plans on working on the ship until he can get his green card then go back to work in EPCOT. His name is Mike if you should see him. I imagine he will be in training though so you probably wouldn't see him.
I hope all works out for you. Tell Lorenzo and Vickie that the Dudettes say hello!

Yes, I think it is as someone once said to me "You only regret the things you didn't do" and after beating myself up for about a month after the cruise for not staying on for the second week in October after all the work Lorenzo put in to get me a cast rate (I felt so bad even though we both came to the conclusion in the end that it would be better for me to go to WDW!)

Anyway... Moving On.... Planning!

Right, being as I'm flying in from the UK, I'll have to fly in the day before the cruise as all flights from the UK don't arrive into Orlando until late afternoon (too late to get to the ship). So the question is where to stay? Any recommendations? I looked at some of the airport hotels and they seemed quite expensive, especially the Hyatt (but I suppose that is expected as it's right inside the airport). Maybe I could spend a night at a WDW resort hotel and then get the DCL bus from there to the port, there seem to be some great Annual Passholder deals available for Jan.

On a Final Note...

All I can say is if I go on this cruise I know I'll have a great time, but I also know it just won't be the same without all of you on-board. How am I going to survive without living opposite the dudette's and being able to drop in on them? :( and being able to walk around deck 9 & 10 and not meet any of my Dis friends :(.

You know there are still staterooms available at the $599 rate if anyone is interested!!! :teeth:

Bonnie - Provisionally I've been told my interveiw should be in February, although I'm a bit worried as I've heard the interviews for the Walt Disney World International Programs are going to be held in March so if they do the cruise line interveiws at the same time I might have to wait until March :( . I'm still hoping for February though, just got to wait for CTI to ring me again some time in the next month.

Ooh.. That's post number 91! only 9 to go before I hit the magic 100!

LOL Darren! You'll just have to find 3 other middle aged women to hang around with! Of course they would never equal the Dudettes!
I wish I could afford it! Heck, it would make a terrific Christmas present for my mom but no way could I justify it this year! If you still have your Disney Dude sign be sure to put it outside your door! Maybe some of the cabin hosts will remember us! If you see Carlos tell him we say hi also.

Try the Radisson near the cruise port. If you can get down there I believe they have some good prices and they have a shuttle to the port. I believe Lori stayed there the night before, or was it Sue? I don't remember now but they should be able to give you some information on it.
HAVE FUN!!!!!!! I am soooo excited for you! What date are you sailing?

Darren, I agree whole heartedly with Bonnie. She put it perfect. G0 if it doesn't put you in financial ruins. Memories are definitely worth it. Ted and I stayed at the Radisson. We rented a car at the airport and then was shuttled to the ship. When we got off the ship we were shuttled back to the Radisson where we rented another car to go to WDW. It worked very smooth. We have done it via a towncar and also a DCL bus. Stayed at the Hyatt one time. It was a very EASY way to do it. The Hyatt IS expensive.

Thanks Julie for your email. I will anxiously await my gift on Wed.

Lori, been missing you. Have you been working a lot lately?

Sorry the weather was so crummy for the Dudettes. At least you were able to do everything. Got your Epcot postcard. Pretty good! You should see ours. My hair was awful (again).

Krista, that party sounded wonderful! What a GREAT hostess you must be.

Laurie is turning into a lurker. She shows up couple times a week. There for awhile when we got back it was everyday. Going back to the old ways, huh?

I have to report that I am feeling A LOT BETTER today. Good thing, since I took my last antibiotic this morning. I might even venture out to do some Christmas shopping today.

Darren, if the direct flight does not work out let us know. If you can swing it, I say do it. Could be your last non-crew member cruise for a while ;) We stayed at Paul's sister's house in Melbourne but I have only heard good things about the Radisson by the port.

Bonnie - I loved the fashion statement you made.LOLLOLLOL

Krista - would you like to come to North Carolina and set my tree up? If shopping doesn't go well, maybe I'll pick up the tree today.

Later

I want an Epcot postcard !!!!!!

Hi Guys. Hey, I think I check in once a day! I even snuck in a post from work Fri. night. It's just that everyone else talks so much that is SEEMS like I haven't posted for awhile. :p

Darren. You are young enough to recover from expensive flights of fancy. If you had a family or parent to be responsible for, you'd be majorly irresponsible for spending the savings. It's all relative you see. I am SO glad that I did a lot of travel before getting married. I think back to those trips with fondness and would feel more resentful of 'responsibility' now, had I not gotten them in when I could. So go without guilt and have fun.

Krista, that party sounded so wonderful. Simple menu? That would be pretty respectable at my house. I'm in awe that you pulled it off on such short notice. Yourock !

Denine, I smiled when reading that Bonnie got to hear Kaleigh. You need to put a little video clip of her on the web for us. Get your friends with the digital camera to do a 20 sec. clip and email it to 'Darren the web site wonderboy'! You could figure out something to do with it so we could all see, right Darren;) Well, maybe when you get back. Or I suppose it could just be emailed to all of us. Yea !!! JULIE could take charge of that.

OK, enough of assigning duties to others when I should be doing my own work around home.

Talk to you all tomorrow. Lori

Yesterday was a very busy day! We had Kaleigh's Christmas party in the morning. She got to see Santa and Mrs. Claus and I got tears in my eyes. Then we went to the mall and I got some new black boots. They were on sale. plus there was a coupon, plus Jerry's mom gets another 25% off for being an employee. So we put it on her credit card. The mall was insane! Then we went to Garry and Julie's house. From there we went to Zoolights. We had a good time. Makenzie wanted to come home with Jerry. She cried when she couldn't! I got to talk with Bonnie for a while. That was fun! We were exhausted when we got home. I know Garry & Julie had things to fo today.

Darren: You have to let us know your plans so that we can hopefully meet up in Disney.

I received my gift yesterday!!!!

Sue: Glad you are feeling so much better!

Lori: I am not a techno wiz!!!!!!!!

Krista: Sounds like your party came off great!

Today we are trying to catch up on household chores!

Everytime I walk past this darn thing I have to see what everyone has to say! I should just turn it off! NAH!

Anyone else want the EPCOT postcard forwarded that didn't get it? We really sent more than one but I guess they limit the amount you can send.

Sue I am so glad you are feeling better! I agree Krista needs to come east to help put ours up!

GOtta run and keep moving to get things done!

LURKER LAURIE COME OUT COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!! See I'm yelling now!

Everyone must be busy doing Christmas stuff! I can't believe there was only 1 post since mine.

Well, the house and the laundry are clean again. Time to go relax with a drink.

Topic: What is everyone's favorite mixed drink?
We don't drink much, but I like a 7 & 7 in the winter and a gin & tonic or frozen drink in the summer.
