Well, I made it through the party. We actually had 21, I MIS-COUNTED, yikes, and didn't realize until I was setting tables. It all came out without a hitch, if I do say so myself.
It was a very simple menu, and would have been even better with all of you all there. The computer nerds just don't have much personality.
We had jalapeno chicken from the grill, a lovely corn and rice dish, Christmas salad (greens with grapes, oranges, red onion, feta and a citrus vinaigrette), breadsticks, apple crumb cake and Mulva pudding from Portugal. Oh, and lots of alchoholic beverages.
The guys all got hand-held video games ie. Uno, Scrabble, etc. and the ladies got a hand-carved snow angel.
The kids got games and hot dogs, that was definitely a no-brainer, and they got caramel apples for dessert.
All and all it was worth it and fun. I got to ATTEND a holiday function tonight, and am having my glass of wine while I type. (Oops, typos beware)
Found a new wine: Kenwood Sauvignon Blanc, around $9 and quite lovely. Not sweet, but smoother than a Chardonnay.
I am now a member of the he-man women's club, seeing that I purchased, dragged off of the jeep, dragged into the house, put tree into the stand, lighted the d*** thing and placed this year's disney ornaments upon THE TREE!!
Yes, please bow to me now, I deserve it. LOL.
Dudettes glad you are home, sorry about the lousy weather. How was the Dolphin.
Darren: Heavens to Murgatroid (sp?) a cruise without us, how dare you?!
Jaymee: Way to go, we'll be pulling for you.
Sue: Glad you are feeling better.
Laurie: You are always welcome at our home.
Oh, sorry, funny story. An employee of David's took a cruise right after us. She saw all of the cards from our Disney friends and was amazed. She said, "You actually got cards from people you cruised with, how did you even know their names." See we really are special.
With that adieu for the evening.
