First time staying at OKW. We have a 1 BR booked near HH. How do you go about putting in a request. If I am understanding correctly buildings 11-14 and 23-26 are in that category. We would prefer a 2nd floor with parking nearby. It sounds like buildings 11-14 have less parking (?). Online check in does not have the option to request a particular area or building and only lists upper floor or lower floor as choices, not a particular floor. Is calling member services the way to go to request 2nd floor in buildings 23-26? I understand it is just a request. TIA for any help.

If it's a DVC booking, you (or the owner of the points used) need to contact Member services by phone or chat feature to have them add the requests. If it's a cash stay, call reservations directly.

Thanks so much! It is a DVC stay on points, I am the owner.

Just call or Chat via Member Services. Remember to prioritize your requests, and don't be too specific. If I'm chatting, I just type them out, in order, so I can just copy/paste for the agent. Good luck!

Thank you for the tip. I just did the chat and they noted my preferences. Appreciate the help!

I've had pretty good luck with being specific - they are very accommodating to whatever requests you want to make - of course never any guarantee you'll get it. But I will usually put in requests for specific room numbers, then a 'backup' request for specific buildings or locations if the room numbers can't be obtained. The past few years, I've been getting one of the specific numbered rooms I requested about 40% of the time - and 90% of the time I get at least the building.

if you don't choose advanced checkin and go up to the front desk when you arrive - you can sometimes find out what room they're giving you and make adjustments to see if they can get a little closer to what you wanted - I've had a few cases where they gave me a room or building that was ready when I was checking in at 2-3pm - but I didn't really like the selection - after they did a little hunting around, they found a better villa closer to my request but it wouldn't be ready until 4-5pm - I went with that option because I didn't mind waiting a few hours to get closer to what I wanted.

Great tips! Thanks

Just bear in mind, the main portion (one bedroom side of the two bedroom unit) in near HH category will have only one entrance to the bathroom...through the master bedroom. Buildings 30 and higher had a design change, adding a second master bath entry through the laundry room. SOmething to keep in mind if anyone, other than immediate family, is sleeping in the living room.
